1Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
1非利士 人与 以色列 人争战， 以色列 人在 非利士 人面前逃跑，在 基利波山 有被杀仆倒的。
2And the Philistines followed hard after Saul and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
2非利士 人紧追 扫罗 和他儿子们，就杀了 扫罗 的儿子 约拿单 、 亚比拿达 、 麦基舒亚 。
3And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was in anguish by reason of the archers.
3势派甚大， 扫罗 被弓箭手追上，射伤甚重，
4Then said Saul unto his armour-bearer: 'Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and make a mock of me.' But his armour-bearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell upon it.
4就吩咐拿他兵器的人说：「你拔出刀来，将我刺死，免得那些未受割礼的人来凌辱我。」但拿兵器的人甚惧怕，不肯刺他；
5And when his armour-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell upon his sword, and died.
5扫罗 就自己伏在刀上死了。拿兵器的人见 扫罗 已死，也伏在刀上死了。
6So Saul died, and his three sons; and all his house died together.
6这样， 扫罗 和他三个儿子，并他的全家都一同死亡。
7And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook their cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
7住平原的 以色列 众人见 以色列 军兵逃跑， 扫罗 和他儿子都死了，也就弃城逃跑， 非利士 人便来住在其中。
8And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
8次日， 非利士 人来剥那被杀之人的衣服，看见 扫罗 和他儿子仆倒在 基利波山 ，
9And they stripped him, and took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry the tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
9就剥了他的军装，割下他的首级，打发人到 非利士 地的四境报信与他们的偶像和众民，
10And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the house of Dagon.
10又将 扫罗 的军装放在他们神的庙里，将他的首级钉在 大衮 庙中。
11And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
11基列·雅比 人听见 非利士 人向 扫罗 所行的一切事，
12all the valiant men arose, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the terebinth in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
12他们中间所有的勇士就起身前去，将 扫罗 和他儿子的尸身送到 雅比 ，将他们的尸骨葬在 雅比 的橡树下，就禁食七日。
13So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD, which he kept not; and also for that he asked counsel of a ghost, to inquire thereby,
13这样， 扫罗 死了。因为他干犯耶和华，没有遵守耶和华的命；又因他求问交鬼的妇人，
14and inquired not of the LORD; therefore He slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
14没有求问耶和华，所以耶和华使他被杀，把国归于 耶西 的儿子 大卫 。
