1E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:
1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
2Fino a quando non metterete fine a' ragionamenti? Intendete prima , e poi parleremo insieme .
2“How long will you hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
3Perchè siamo noi riputati per bestie? E perchè ci avete voi a schifo?
3Why are we counted as animals, which have become unclean in your sight?
4O tu , che laceri l'anima tua nel tuo cruccio, Sarà la terra abbandonata per cagion tua, E saranno le roccie trasportate dal luogo loro?
4You who tear yourself in your anger, will the earth be forsaken for you? Or will the rock be removed out of its place?
5Sì, la luce degli empi sarà spenta, E niuna favilla del fuoco loro rilucerà.
5“Yes, the light of the wicked will be put out. The spark of his fire won’t shine.
6La luce sarà oscurata nel lor tabernacolo. E la lor lampana sarà spenta intorno a loro.
6The light will be dark in his tent. His lamp above him will be put out.
7I lor fieri passi saran ristretti, E il lor proprio consiglio li traboccherà abbasso;
7The steps of his strength will be shortened. His own counsel will cast him down.
8Perciocchè essi si gitteranno nel laccio co' piedi loro, E cammineranno sopra la rete.
8For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he wanders into its mesh.
9Il laccio prenderà loro il calcagno, Il ladrone farà loro forza e violenza.
9A snare will take him by the heel. A trap will catch him.
10La fune sarà loro nascosta in terra, E la trappola in sul sentiero.
10A noose is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him on the path.
11Spaventi li conturberanno d'ogn'intorno, E li faranno fuggire in rotta.
11Terrors will make him afraid on every side, and will chase him at his heels.
12La lor forza sarà affamata, E la calamità sarà loro apparecchiata allato.
12His strength will be famished. Calamity will be ready at his side.
13Il primogenito della morte divorerà le membra della lor pelle; Divorerà le membra loro.
13The members of his body will be devoured. The firstborn of death will devour his members.
14La lor confidanza sarà divelta dal lor tabernacolo; E ciò li farà camminare al re degli spaventi.
14He will be rooted out of the security of his tent. He will be brought to the king of terrors.
15Abiteranno ne' lor tabernacoli che non saranno più loro; Ei si spargerà del solfo in su le loro stanze.
15There will dwell in his tent that which is none of his. Sulfur will be scattered on his habitation.
16Disotto le lor radici si seccheranno, E disopra i lor rami saranno tagliati.
16His roots will be dried up beneath. His branch will be cut off above.
17La lor memoria perirà d'in su la terra, E non avranno nome alcuno sopra le piazze.
17His memory will perish from the earth. He will have no name in the street.
18Saranno spinti dalla luce nelle tenebre, E saranno cacciati fuor del mondo.
18He will be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19Non avranno figliuoli, nè nipoti fra il lor popolo, Nè alcuno che sopravviva loro nelle loro abitazioni.
19He will have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining where he lived.
20La posterità stupirà del lor giorno, Come gli antenati ne avranno avuto orrore.
20Those who come after will be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.
21Certo tali saranno gli abitacoli de' perversi, E tal sarà il luogo di coloro che non conoscono Iddio.
21Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous. This is the place of him who doesn’t know God.”
