Johan 4

Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
World English Bible
1Jesuh loh Johan lakah hnukbang muep a khueh tih a nuem te Pharisee rhoek loh a yaak uh tila Jesuh loh a ming.
1Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
2Tedae Jesuh amah long ngawn moenih, a hnukbang rhoek long ni a nuem.
2(although Jesus himself didn’t baptize, but his disciples),
3Judea te pak a hlah tih Galilee la koep cet.
3he left Judea and departed into Galilee.
4Te vaengah Samaria te a hil phai ham a kuek.
4He needed to pass through Samaria.
5Te dongah Sychar la a khue Samaria kho puei kah Jakob loh a capa Joseph a paek khohmuen taeng te a pha.
5So he came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6Teah te Jakob tuisih om. Te vaengah Jesuh tah yincaehnah lamloh thakthae tih tuisih taengah ngol.
6Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
Anih te Jesuh loh, “ Ok ham kai m'pae lah,” a ti nah.
7A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
8Te vaengah a hnukbang rhoek tah kho khuiah caak lai hamla cet uh.
8For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9Te dongah amah te Samaria nu loh, “Nang tah Judah hlang la aka om loh balae tih Samaria nu la aka om kai taengah ok ham te nan bih,” a ti nah. Judah rhoek neh Samaria rhoek he a doca uh moenih.
9The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
10Jesuh loh anih te a doo tih, “ Pathen kah kutdoe neh nang taengah aka cal te unim tila na ming koinih amah taengah ok ham kai pae lah ,’ tila na bih sui tih tui hing nang m'paek suidae,” a ti nah.
10Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
11The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. So where do you get that living water?
Tuito he amah loh kaimih m'paek tih he lamkah te amah long khaw, a ca rhoek neh a saelhung long khaw a ok,” a ti nah.
12Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his children and his livestock?”
13Jesuh loh anih te a doo tih, “ He kah tui aka o boeih tah koep hal ni .
13Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
14Tedae kai loh ka paek ham tui te aka o tah kumhal ah hal tlaih mahpawh. Te phoeiah anih ka paek ham tui te tah dungyan hingnah ham anih ah aka phuet tuisih tui la om ni,” a ti nah.
14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
15Amah te huta loh, “Saya, te tui te kai m'pae lah. Te daengah ni tui ka hal pawt vetih tuithan la ka pawk pawt eh?,” a ti nah.
15The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.”
16Amah te, “ Cet, na va te khue lamtah hela ha lo,” a ti nah.
16Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17Huta loh a doo tih, “Va ka khueh moenih,” a ti nah.
17The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’
18Va panga na khueh coeng dae tahae kah na khueh te na va la a om moenih, oltak te thui saw,” a ti nah.
18for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.”
19The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
20A pa rhoek loh hekah tlang ah bawk uh. Tedae nangmih long tah Jerusalem kah aka om hmuen ah te a bawk ham a kuek na ti uh ,” a ti nah.
20Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
21Jesuh loh anih te, “ Huta aw, kai he n'tangnah lah. Tekah a tue ha pawk vaengah hekah tlang pawt ah khaw, Jerusalem pawt ah khaw pa te na bawk uh bitni .
21Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22Nangmih loh na bawk uh te na ming uh pawh. Kaimih tah ka bawk uh te ka ming uh. Khangnah khaw Judah rhoek lamkah ni a om .
22You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
23Tedae a tue ha pai tih om coeng. Bawkkung taktak rhoek long tah pa te Mueihla neh oltak dongah a bawk uh ni. Amah aka bawk rhoek van te ni pa loh a toem .
23But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshipers.
24Pathen tah Mueihla ni. Te dongah amah aka bawk loh mueihla neh oltak ah bawk ham a kuek,” a ti nah.
24God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming, he who is called Christ. When he has come, he will declare to us all things.”
26Jesuh loh anih te, “ Te tah nang taengah aka cal kamah ni,” a ti nah.
26Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.”
27Te vaengah te a hnukbang rhoek te ha pawk uh tih huta taengah a cal te a ngaihmang uh.
27Just then, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?”
28Te dongah huta loh a amrhaeng te a toeng tih kho khuila cet.
28So the woman left her water pot, went away into the city, and said to the people,
29Te phoeiah a hlang rhoek te, “Halo uh lah, ka saii boeih aka thui hlang te so uh lah. Anih tah Khrih la om pawtnim?” a ti nah.
29“Come, see a man who told me everything that I have done. Can this be the Christ?”
30Te dongah khopuei lamloh cet uh tih amah te a paan uh.
30They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
31Te rhuet ah amah te hnukbang rhoek loh a dawt uh tih, “Rhabbi, ca laeh saw,” a ti na uh.
31In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
32But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
33Te dongah hnukbang rhoek loh amamih te, “Khat khat loh a caak koi khuen pah pawtnim,” a ti uh.
33The disciples therefore said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”
34Jesuh loh amih te, “ Kai aka tueih kah kongaih saii ham neh amah kah bibi coeng ham te kai kah cakok la om .
34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
35Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest’? Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already.
36Aka at loh thapang a dang tih dungyan hingnah dongah cangthaih a coi coeng. Te daengah ni aka tuh neh aka at loh thikat la a omngaih eh .
36He who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit to eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
37Hekah ol tah oltak pai ni. Aka tuh khaw a tloe, aka at khaw a tloe la om pai .
37For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’
38I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”
39Huta loh, “ Ka saii boeih te kamah taengah a thui coeng, “tila ol a phong. Te dongah kho khui lamkah Samaria rhoek loh Jesuh te muep a tangnah uh.
39From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I have done.”
40Te dongah Samaria rhoek loh amah taengla a pawk uh vaengah amah te amih taengah rhaeh sak ham a bih uh dongah hnin nit pahoi rhaeh.
40So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
41Te vaengah a ol aka tangnah khaw taoe yet.
41Many more believed because of his word.
42Te phoeiah huta te, “Na olcal dongah ka tangnah uh pawt dae kaimih loh ka yaak uh daengah ni he tah Diklai kah khangkung la om tangtang tila ka ming uh ,” a ti nauh.
42They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
43Hnin nit phoeiah te lamloh Galilee la cet.
43After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.
44Tonghma loh amah tolrhum ah hinyahnah a dang pawt te khaw Jesuh amah loh a phong coeng.
44For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45Khotue vaengkah Jerusalem ah a saii boeih te a hmuh uh. Amih khaw khotue te a paan uh. Te dongah Galilee la ha pawk vaengah tah Galilee rhoek loh amah a doe uh.
45So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.
46Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47Judea lamloh Galilee la Jesuh a pawk te anih loh a yaak vaengah a taeng la cet tih, “Duek hamla aka om a capa te hoeih sak ham ha suntla dae,” tila a bih.
47When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
48Te dongah Jesuh loh anih te, “ Miknoek neh khobae rhambae na hmuh uh pawt atah na tangnah uh tlaih pawh,” a ti nah.
48Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”
49Rhalboei loh amah taengah, “Boeipa, ka capa te a duek hlan ah ha suntla dae,” a ti nah.
49The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50Jesuh loh anih te , “ Cet laeh, na capa te hing coeng,” a ti nah. Jesuh loh anih taengah a thui olka te a tangnah dongah tekah hlang khaw cet.
50Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
51A suntlak neh anih te a sal rhoek loh oepsoeh la a doe uh tih a capa a hing pah te a thui pa uh.
51As he was going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”
52Te dongah a then la a om nah a tue te amih taengah a cae. Te vaengah, “ Hlaem khonoek parhih vaengah a satloh loh a hlah,” a ti na uh.
52So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.”
53Te dongah Jesuh loh anih te , “ Na capa te hing coeng,” a ti nah vaeng kah a tue te te vaeng ah ni tila ana pa loh a ming dongah amah neh a im pum loh a tangnah uh.
53So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
54This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
