1Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider and behold our reproach.
1‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke manatu ki he meʻa kuo hoko kiate kimautolu: tokanga pea ke ʻafio ki homau taukae.
2Our inheritance is turned to aliens: our houses to strangers.
2Kuo liliu homau tofiʻa ki he kau muli, ʻa homau ngaahi fale ki he ʻāuhē.
3We are become orphans without a father: our mothers are as widows.
3Ko e kau faʻē mate mo tamai mate ʻakimautolu, ko ʻemau ngaahi faʻē kuo hangē kuo mate ʻa honau ngaahi husepāniti.
4We have drunk our water for money: we have bought our wood.
4Kuo mau inu vai ʻi he totongi paʻanga, ko ʻemau fefie ʻoku fakatau kiate kimautolu.
5We were dragged by the necks, we were weary and no rest was given us.
5‌ʻOku māʻulalo ʻa homau kia ki he fakatanga: ʻoku mau ngāue pea ʻoku ʻikai ha mālōlō.
6We have given our hand to Egypt, and to the Assyrians, that we might be satisfied with bread.
6Kuo mau fekuku nima mo e kau ʻIsipite, pea mo e kau ʻAsilia, ke mau mākona ʻi he mā.
7Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities.
7Naʻe fai angahala ʻa ʻemau ngaahi tamai, pea ʻoku ʻikai, pea kuo mau fua ʻenau ngaahi hia.
8Servants have ruled over us: there was none to redeem us out of their hand.
8Kuo pule ʻae kau tamaioʻeiki kiate kimautolu, ʻoku ʻikai ha niʻihi ʻoku fakahaofi ʻakimautolu mei honau nima.
9We fetched our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the desert.
9Naʻa mau maʻu meʻakai ʻi he tuʻutāmaki ʻo ʻemau moʻui, koeʻuhi ko e heletā ʻi he toafa.
10Our skin was burnt as an oven, by reason of the violence of the famine.
10Naʻe ʻuliʻuli ʻa homau kili ʻo hangē ko e ngotoʻumu, ko e meʻa ʻi he honge fakamanavahē.
11They oppressed the women in Sion, and the virgins in the cities of Juda.
11Naʻa nau tohotoho ʻae kau fefine ʻi Saione, ʻae kau tāupoʻou ʻi he ngaahi kolo ʻo Siuta.
12The princes were hanged up by their hand: they did not respect the persons of the ancient.
12‌ʻOku tautau ʻae ngaahi houʻeiki mei honau nima, naʻe ʻikai ke fakaʻapaʻapaʻi ʻae mata ʻoe kau mātuʻa.
13They abused the young men indecently: and the children fell under the wood.
13Naʻa nau ʻave ʻae kau talavou ke momosi, pea naʻe tō hifo ʻae tamaiki ʻi he lalo ʻakau.
14The ancients have ceased from the gates: the young men from the choir of the singers.
14Kuo ʻosi ʻae kau mātuʻa mei he matapā, ʻae kau talavou mei he fasi hiva.
15The joy of our heart is ceased, our dancing is turned into mourning.
15Kuo ʻosi ʻae fiefia ʻa homau loto; kuo liliu ʻa ʻemau meʻe ko e mamahi.
16The crown is fallen from our head woe to us, because we have sinned.
16Kuo tō ʻae tatā fakatuʻi mei homau ʻulu. ʻOiauē ʻakimautolu! He kuo mau fai angahala.
17Therefore is our heart sorrowful, therefore are our eyes become dim,
17Koeʻuhi ko e meʻa ni ʻoku vaivai homau loto; koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi meʻa ni ʻoku nenefu homau mata.
18For mount Sion, because it is destroyed, foxes have walked upon it.
18Koeʻuhi ko e moʻunga ʻo Saione, ʻaia ʻoku lala pē, ʻoku ʻaʻeva ai ʻae fanga fokisi.
19But thou, O Lord, shalt remain for ever, thy throne from generation to generation.
19‌ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke ʻafioʻi ʻo taʻengata, ko ho ʻafioʻanga ʻoku mei he toʻutangata ki he toʻutangata.
20Why wilt thou forget us for ever? why wilt thou forsake us for a long time?
20Ko e hā ʻoku ke fakangaloʻi ʻakimautolu ʻo taʻengata, pea mahuʻi meiate kimautolu ʻo fuoloa?
21Convert us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be converted: renew our days, as from the beginning.
21Fakatafokiʻi ʻakimautolu kiate koe, ʻE Sihova, pea te mau liliu moʻoni; fakafoʻou homau ngaahi ʻaho ʻo hangē ko ia ʻi muʻa.
22But thou hast utterly rejected us, thou art exceedingly angry against us.
22Ka kuo ke mātuʻaki liʻaki ʻakimautolu; ʻoku ke houhau ʻaupito kiate kimautolu.
