Tongan Bible, Revised West Version
1Then Job answered, and said:
1Ka naʻe tali ʻe Siope, ʻo ne pehē,
2Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?
2“ʻOku fēfē ʻa hoʻo tokoni ki he taʻemālohi? ʻOku fakamoʻui fēfē ʻe koe ʻae nima vaivai?
3To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.
3ʻOku fēfē ʻa hoʻo fakapotoʻi ʻae taʻepoto? Pea fēfē ʻa hoʻo fakahā lahi ʻae meʻa ʻoku totonu?
4Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?
4Ko hoʻo lea mai kia hai? Pea ko e laumālie ʻo hai kuo haʻu meiate koe?
5Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.
5“Ko e kakai mālohi kuo mate, mo kinautolu ʻoku nau nonofo, ʻoku nau feinga ki lalo ʻi he ngaahi vai.
6Hell is naked before him, and there is no covering for destruction.
6ʻOku vavanga ʻae maama fufū ʻi hono ʻao, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ʻufiʻufi ʻoe potu fakaʻauha.
7He stretched out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
7ʻOku ne folahi atu ʻe ia ʻae potu fakatokelau ʻi he atāloa, pea ne tautau ʻa māmani ki he ʻatā noa pe.
8He bindeth up the waters in his clouds, so that they break not out and fall down together.
8ʻOku ne haʻihaʻi ʻae ngaahi vai ʻi hono ngaahi ʻao matolu; pea ʻoku ʻikai mahaehae ai ʻae ʻao.
9He withholdeth the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud over it.
9ʻOku ne taʻofi atu ʻa hono muʻa ʻafioʻanga, ʻo ne folahi ʻene ʻao ki ai.
10He hath set bounds about the waters, till light and darkness come to an end.
10ʻOku ne takatakai ʻae moana ʻo ʻai hono ngataʻanga, kaeʻoua ke ʻosi ʻae ʻaho mo e pō.
11The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.
11ʻOku ngalulu ʻae ngaahi pou ʻoe langi, pea ofo ʻi heʻene valoki.
12By his power the seas are suddenly gathered together, and his wisdom has struck the proud one.
12ʻOku ne fakalaolao ʻae tahi ʻaki hono mālohi, pea ʻi heʻene poto ʻoku ne tā hifo ʻae laukau.
13His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.
13Ko hono laumālie kuo ne teuteu ʻaki ʻae ngaahi langi; pea kuo ngaohi ʻe hono nima ʻae ngata pikopiko.
14Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?
14Vakai, ko e meʻa niʻihi pe eni ʻi hono ngaahi hala: ka ʻikai ko e meʻa siʻi ʻaupito ʻiate ia ʻoku tau fanongo ai? Pea ko e mana ʻo hono mālohi ko hai te ne faʻa ʻiloʻi?”
