Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
1And when it came to pass that, being parted from them, we set sail, we came with a straight course to Coos, and the day following to Rhodes, and from thence to Patara.
1Nihcae hoi kam praek o pacoengah, tui mah takui ih Kos prae ah ka caeh o poe, khawnbangah tui mah takui ih Rhodes prae ah ka caeh o, to ahmuen hoiah Patara vangpui ah ka caeh o:
2And when we had found a ship sailing over to Phenice, we went aboard, and set forth.
2to naah Phonicia bangah kacaeh palong to ka hnuk o, to palong ah kang thueng o moe, ka caeh o.
3And when we had discovered Cyprus, leaving it on the left hand, we sailed into Syria, and came to Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
3Cyprus to ka hnuk o naah, banqoi bangah kang qoi o, Syria prae ah ka caeh o moe, Tura vangpui ah kang hak o: toah palong thung ih hmuennawk to ka puen o.
4And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
4Toah hnukbang kaminawk to ka hnuk o, nihcae khaeah ni tarukto ka cam o: nihcae mah Muithla rang hoiah Pawl khaeah Jerusalem ah caeh han ai ah thuih pae o.
5And the days being expired, departing we went forward, they all bringing us on our way, with their wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and we prayed.
5Toe camhaih ni boeng pacoengah loe nihcae to ka caeh o taak moe, kholong caeh kam tong o; nihcae mah a zu a caanawk boih hoi vangpui tasa bang karoek to ang thak o: to pacoengah tui taengah cangkrawn o moe, lawk ka thuih o.
6And when we had bid one another farewell, we took ship; and they returned home.
6Maeto hoi maeto ampraekhaih lok ka thuih o pacoengah, kaicae loe palong kang thueng o, nihcae loe im ah kam laem o let.
7But we having finished the voyage by sea, from Tyre came down to Ptolemais: and saluting the brethren, we abode one day with them.
7Tura vangpui hoiah palong hoi ka caeh o moe, Ptolemai ah kang hak o, toah kaom nawkamyanawk to ban ka sin o, nihcae khaeah nito ka cam o.
8And the next day departing, we came to Caesarea. And entering into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we abode with him.
8Khawnbangah Pawl hoi nawnto kholong caeh ampui, kaicae loe ka caeh o moe, Caesarea vangpui to ka phak o: tamthanglok taphong kami tarukto thungah maeto ah kaom, Philip im ah ka kun o moe, toah kang hak o.
9And he had four daughters, virgins, who did prophesy.
9Anih loe lok taphong tangla cuem canu palito tawnh.
10And as we tarried there for some days, there came from Judea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
10Toah ni kasawk ka cam o, to naah Agaba, tiah ahmin kaom, Tahmaa maeto Judea prae hoiah angzoh.
11Who, when he was come to us, took Paul’s girdle: and binding his own feet and hands, he said: Thus saith the Holy Ghost: The man whose girdle this is, the Jews shall bind in this manner in Jerusalem, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
11Anih kaicae khaeah angzoh naah, Pawl mah kaeng ah angzaeng ih kahni to anih mah lak moe, angmah ih ban hoi khoknawk to a komh pacoengah, hae tiah Jerusalem ih Judahnawk mah hae kahni tawnkung hae taoeng o ueloe, Gentelnawk khaeah paek o tih, tiah Kacai Muithla mah thuih, tiah a naa.
12Which when we had heard, both we and they that were of that place, desired him that he would not go up to Jerusalem.
12To loknawk to ka thaih o naah, kaicae hoi toah kaom kaminawk mah Jerusalem ah caeh han ai ah Pawl to tahmenhaih ka hnik o.
13Then Paul answered, and said: What do you mean weeping and afflicting my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but to die also in Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.
13To naah Pawl mah, Tikhoe na qah o moe, kai palung nang set o sak loe? Qui hoi taoengh han ih khue ai, Angraeng Jesu ih ahmin pongah Jerusalem ah duek han ih mataeng doeh kam sak coek boeh, tiah a naa.
14And when we could not persuade him, we ceased, saying: The will of the Lord be done.
14Anih to ka thuih pae o thla naah loe, Angraeng koehhaih baktiah om nasoe, ka tih o moe, kang hngai o taak duem.
15And after those days, being prepared, we went up to Jerusalem.
15To pacoengah kang thawk o moe, Jerusalem ah ka caeh o tahang.
16And there went also with us some of the disciples from Caesarea, bringing with them one Mnason a Cyprian, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
16Caesarea vangpui ih hnukbang thoemto kaminawk doeh kaicae hoi nawnto angzoh o, anih hoi nawnto ka oh o hanah, saning coeh, hnukbang kami maeto ah kaom Mason, tiah kawk ih Cyprus kami to kaicae khaeah angzoh o haih.
17And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
17Jerusalem vangpui ka phak o naah loe, nawkamyanawk mah kawnhaih hoiah ang dawt o.
18And the day following, Paul went in with us unto James; and all the ancients were assembled.
18Khawnbangah loe Pawl hoi nawnto Jakob khaeah ka caeh o; kacoehtanawk loe toah oh o boih.
19Whom when he had saluted, he related particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
19Pawl mah nihcae ban sin pacoengah, a toksakhaih rang hoiah Sithaw mah kawbangmaw Gentelnawk khaeah toksak, tito a thuih pae.
20But they hearing it, glorified God, and said to him: Thou seest, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews that have believed: and they are all zealous for the law.
20Nihcae mah to lok to thaih o naah, Angraeng ih ahmin to saphaw o. Nihcae mah Pawl khaeah, Kam nawk, khenah, Judah kami nazetto mah maw tanghaih tawnh o, tito na hnuk boeh; nihcae loe kaalok pazui han tha pathok kami ah ni oh o boih.
21Now they have heard of thee that thou teachest those Jews, who are among the Gentiles, to depart from Moses: saying, that they ought not to circumcise their children, nor walk according to the custom.
21Gentelnawk salakah kaom Judah kaminawk mah Mosi to caeh o taak moe, a caanawk tangyat hin aah han ai hoi angmacae khosakhaih atawk doeh pazui han ai ah, nang mah patuk ti, tiah a thaih o boeh.
22What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
22To pongah kawbangmaw tih han boeh? Kaminawk loe amkhueng ai ah om o mak ai, nang angzoh ti, tiah panoek o tih boeh.
23Do therefore this that we say to thee. We have four men, who have a vow on them.
23To pongah kang thuih o ih lok baktih toengah sah ah: kaicae khaeah lokkamhaih sah kami palito oh;
24Take these, and sanctify thyself with them: and bestow on them, that they may shave their heads: and all will know that the things which they have heard of thee, are false; but that thou thyself also walkest keeping the law.
24hae kaminawk hae caeh haih loe, nihcae hoi nawnto ciimcaihaih to sah ah, nihcae sam aahhaih atho to paek paeh: to tiah na sak nahaeloe kaminawk boih mah thuih o ih, nang kawng loe amsawn ni, tiah thui o tih; nang mah doeh daan to pazui ah loe, kahoihah khosah ah.
25But as touching the Gentiles that believe, we have written, decreeing that they should only refrain themselves from that which has been offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangles, and from fornication.
25Sithaw tang Gentelnawk khaeah, to baktih hmuennawk pazui o hmah, krang bokhaih buh to caa o hmah, athii to caa o hmah, tahnong panamh moe, paduek ih moi to caa o hmah, kaciim ai nongpa nongpata zaehaih to sak o hmah, tiah ca ka tarik pae o boeh, tiah a naa o.
26Then Paul took the men, and the next day being purified with them, entered into the temple, giving notice of the accomplishment of the days of purification, until an oblation should be offered for every one of them.
26Khawnbangah loe Pawl mah to kaminawk to caeh haih moe, nihcae hoi nawnto ciimcaihaih to a sak, ciimcaihaih ni boeng pacoengah loe, nihcae boih mah angbawnhaih atue panoek o hanah, tempul ah a caeh haih.
27But when the seven days were drawing to an end, those Jews that were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands upon him, crying out:
27Ni tarukto boeng tom naah loe, Asia prae ih thoemto Judah kaminawk mah tempul thungah Pawl to hnuk o, to ah kaom kaminawk boih to pacuek o moe, Pawl to naeh o,
28Men of Israel, help: This is the man that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place; and moreover hath brought in Gentiles into the temple, and hath violated this holy place.
28Isarael kaminawk, Na bom oh: hae kami loe ahmuen kruek ih kaminawk mah koeh ai ih hmuen, kaalok mah koeh ai ih hmuen, hae ahmuen mah koeh ai ih hmuennawk to kaminawk hanah patuk: Grik kaminawk to tempul thungah akun haih moe, hae hmuenciim hae amhnongsak, tiah a hang o.
29(For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
29(Nihcae mah canghniah Pawl hoi nawnto kaom Efisa kami Trophima to vangpui thungah hnuk o boeh pongah, Pawl mah anih to tempul thungah akun haih mue, tiah a poek o:)
30And the whole city was in an uproar: and the people ran together. And taking Paul, they drew him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.
30to naah vangpui boih ah lokpunghaih to oh, kaminawk loe nawnto cawnh o moe, amkhueng o; Pawl to naeh o moe, tempul thung hoiah tasa bangah zaeh o pacoengah, khongkha to khah o roep.
31And as they went about to kill him, it was told the tribune of the band, That all Jerusalem was in confusion.
31Jerusalem vangpui thung boih ah lokpunghaih to oh, Pawl hum hanah pacaeng o, tiah cumvaito ukkung misatuh angraeng mah thaih.
32Who, forthwith taking with him soldiers and centurions, ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers they left off beating Paul.
32To naah anih mah misatuh kaminawk hoi thoemto misatuh angraengnawk to karangah kawk moe, to kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen ah cawnh o tathuk: to kaminawk mah misatuh angraeng hoi misatuh kaminawk to hnuk o naah, Pawl to bop o ai anghngai o duem.
33Then the tribune coming near, took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains: and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
33Misatuh angraeng loe anih taengah caeh moe, Pawl to naeh pacoengah, sumqui hnetto hoiah pathlet hanah lokpaek; anih loe mi aa, tih hmuen maw a sak? tiah lok a dueng.
34And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude. And when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
34Kaminawk thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah thuih ih lok maeto hoiah kalah thoemto kaminawk mah thuih ih lok to anghmong ai, to tiah lokpunghaih oh pongah, misatuh angraeng mah loktang to panoek thai ai; to pongah Pawl to misatuh kaminawk ohhaih im ah caeh o haih hanah lok a paek.
35And when he was come to the stairs, it fell out that he was carried by the soldiers, because of the violence of the people.
35Kaminawk palungphui o parai pongah, thlak taeng phak naah loe, misatuh kaminawk mah Pawl to atoengh o tahang ving.
36For the multitude of the people followed after, crying: Away with him.
36Paroeai kaminawk loe anih hnukah bang o moe, Anih to hum ah, tiah hang o.
37And as Paul was about to be brought into the castle, he saith to the tribune: May speak something to thee? Who said: Canst thou speak Greek?
37Misatuh kaminawk mah Pawl to angmacae ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh o haih tom naah, anih mah misatuh angraeng khaeah, Nang hoi lok apae thai tih maw? tiah a naa. Anih mah Grik lok na paeh thai maw? tiah dueng.
38Art not thou that Egyptian who before these days didst raise a tumult, and didst lead forth into the desert four thousand men that were murderers?
38Nang loe canghniah Izip kaminawk ih hmuenmae taek hanah, kami sang palito praezaek ah caeh haih kami na ai maw? tiah a naa.
39But Paul said to him: I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city. And I beseech thee, suffer me to speak to the people.
39Pawl mah, Kai loe vangpui rumram ai, lokpui parai ah kaom Cicilia prae, Tarsa vangpui ah kaom, Judah kami ah ka oh, tiah pathim pae. Kaminawk khaeah lokthuih thaihaih na paek ah, tiah tahmenhaih a hnik.
40And when he had given him leave, Paul standing on the stairs, beckoned with his hand to the people. And a great silence being made, he spoke unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying:
40Misatuh angraeng mah anih hanah lokthui thaihaih to paek, to naah Pawl mah thlak nuiah angdoet moe, kaminawk to ban payangh thuih. Kaminawk loe anghngai o duem, to naah nihcae khaeah Hebru lok hoiah lokthuih pae.
