1以色列 人出 埃及 地后，第二年二月初一日，耶和华在 西奈 的旷野、会幕中晓谕 摩西 说：
1The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2「你要按 以色列 全会众的家室、宗族、人名的数目计算所有的男丁。
2“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,
3凡 以色列 中，从二十岁以外，能出去打仗的，你和 亚伦 要照他们的军队数点。
3from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions.
4每支派中必有一人作本支派的族长，帮助你们。
4With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house.
5他们的名字：属 吕便 的，有 示丢珥 的儿子 以利蓿 ；
5These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6属 西缅 的，有 苏利沙代 的儿子 示路蔑 ；
6Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7属 犹大 的，有 亚米拿达 的儿子 拿顺 ；
7Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

8Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.

16These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
17于是， 摩西 、 亚伦 带着这些按名指定的人，
17Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.
18当二月初一日招聚全会众。会众就照他们的家室、宗族、人名的数目，从二十岁以外的，都述说自己的家谱。
18They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.
19耶和华怎样吩咐 摩西 ，他就怎样在 西奈 的旷野数点他们。
19As the LORD commanded Moses, so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20以色列 的长子， 吕便 子孙的后代，照着家室、宗族、人名的数目，从二十岁以外，凡能出去打仗、被数的男丁，共有四万六千五百名。
20The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

48因为耶和华晓谕 摩西 说：
48For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
49「惟独 利未 支派你不可数点，也不可在 以色列 人中计算他们的总数。
49“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;
50只要派 利未 人管法 柜 的帐幕和其中的器具，并属乎帐幕的；他们要抬帐幕和其中的器具，并要办理帐幕的事，在帐幕的四围安营。
50but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.
51帐幕将往前行的时候， 利未 人要拆卸；将支搭的时候， 利未 人要竖起。近前来的外人必被治死。
51When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
52以色列 人支搭帐棚，要照他们的军队，各归本营，各归本纛。
52The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.
53但 利未 人要在法 柜 帐幕的四围安营，免得忿怒临到 以色列 会众； 利未 人并要谨守法 柜 的帐幕。」
53But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”
54以色列 人就这样行。凡耶和华所吩咐 摩西 的，他们就照样行了。
54Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so they did.
