King James Version with Apocrypha
1Jerusalem hoiah angzo ca tarik thoemto kaminawk hoi Farasinawk Jesu khaeah amkhueng o.
1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2To naah a hnukbang kaminawk loe kaciim ah buhcaa o ai, tiah nihcae mah hnuk o (thuih koehhaih loe ban amsae ai ah buh caak o pongah kasae ah a hnuk o).
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3Farasinawk hoi Judahnawk boih loe ban amsae ai ah, buh caa o ai, saning coeh kaminawk loe khosak kangquem to patawn o caeng vop.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4Hmuenmae zawhhaih ahmuen ih hmuennawk cae loe pasae ai ah loe caa o ai. Boengloeng, laom sabaenawk, khaang laomnawk hoi caboinawk to pasaeh khue khawt ai, kalah atawknawk doeh kacakah patawnh o moe, pazui o.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Topongah Farasinawk hoi ca tarik kaminawk mah, tipongah nang hnukbang kaminawk loe kacoehtanawk mah thuih ih lok to pazui o ai moe, ban amsae ai ah buh a caak o loe? tiah lok a dueng o.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Isaiah mah nangcae angsah thaih kami kawng tarik ih oh, Hae kaminawk loe pakha hoiah kai ang saphaw o, toe nihcae ih palungthin loe kai khae hoi angthla o.
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Atho kaom ai anui aphawn hoiah kai ang bok o moe, kaminawk mah sak ih loknawk to ni patuk o, tiah thuih.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8Sithaw mah paek ih loknawk to na vah o moe, kaminawk ih atawk mah, boengloeng hoi laom sabaenawk pasaeh han angaih, tiah patuk ih kaminawk ih atawk hoi kalah hmuennawk to kacakah na patawnh o lat, tiah a naa.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Nangmacae khosakhaih atawk to na pazui o thai hanah, Sithaw ih kaalok to na vah o ving.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10Mosi mah, Nam no hoi nam pa to saiqat ah; mi kawbaktih doeh amno maw, to tih ai boeh loe ampa maw kasae thui kami loe, paduek han oh, tiah thuih:
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11toe nangcae mah loe, Mi kawbaktih doeh amno maw, to tih ai boeh loe ampa khaeah maw, Kai khae hoi atho hnuk han koi kaom hmuennawk boih loe Korban ah ni oh, (to hmuen loe tangqum tiah thuih koehhaih ih ni,) tiah thui nahaeloe, anih loe loih boeh.
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free .
12Anih mah amno hoi ampa khetzawn han angaih ai boeh, tiah na thuih pae o;
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13to tiah nangmacae ih khosak kangquem hoiah Sithaw ih lok atho kaom ai ah na sak o: hae baktih kalah pop parai hmuennawk doeh na sak o vop, tiah a naa.
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14Anih mah paroeai kaminawk to angmah khaeah kawk moe, nihcae khaeah, nangcae boih mah tahngai oh loe, thaikophaih to tawn oh:
14¶ And when he had called all the people unto him , he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you , and understand:
15tasa bang hoi kami takpum thungah akun, kami amhnongsak thaih hmuen tidoeh om ai: toe kami takpum thung hoi tacawt hmuen mah ni kami to amhnongsak.
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16Mi kawbaktih doeh thaihaih naa tawn kami loe, thai nasoe, tiah a naa.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17Pop parai kaminawk to a caehtaak moe, imthung ah akun pacoengah, a hnukbang kaminawk mah patahhaih lok to dueng o.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae doeh na thaih o kop ai maw? Tasa bang hoi kami takpum thungah akun kawbaktih hmuen mah doeh, kami to amhnongsak thai ai, tito na panoek o ai maw?
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19To hmuen loe kami palung thungah akun ai, zok thungah ni akunh, zok thung ih caaknaeknawk to ciimsak pacoengah, aek ah tacawt, tiah a naa.
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20Anih mah, Kami takoh thung hoi angzo hmuen mah ni, kami to amhnongsak thaih.
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21A thung hoiah loe kasae poekhaih, zu sava laep ah zae sakhaih, daan ai ah nongpa nongpata zae sakhaih, kami humhaih,
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22paqukhaih, uthaih, poeksethaih, alinghaih, zae sak koehhaih, khithaih, loksae thuihaih, amoekhaih, amthuhaih:
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23hae kasae hmuennawk boih loe kami takoh thung hoiah angzoh moe, kami to amhnongsak, tiah a naa.
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
24Anih loe to ahmuen hoiah angthawk moe, Tura hoi Sidon prae bangah a caeh, minawk mah panoek han ai ah, im maeto thungah akun, toe anih loe anghawk thai ai.
24¶ And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it : but he could not be hid.
25Taqawk sae tawn nongpata ih amno mah anih angzohhaih tamthang to thaih naah, anih khaeah angzoh moe, a hma ah cangkrawn pae:
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26to nongpata loe Syrophonicia prae ah kaom Grik kami ah oh; a canu ih takoh thung hoiah taqawk haek pae hanah, anih khaeah tahmenhaih a hnik.
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27Jesu mah anih khaeah, Nawktanawk zok kamhah ah caa o rae nasoe: nawktanawk ih buh to lak pae ving moe, uinawk khaeah paek han hoih ai, tiah a naa.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28To nongpata mah, Ue, Angraeng; toe uinawk mah loe caboi tlim ah kakrah nawktanawk ih caaknoi to a caak o bae, tiah a naa.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
29To tiah thuih ih lok pongah, Anih mah nongpata khaeah caeh lai ah; taqawk sae loe na canu takoh thung hoi tacawt boeh, tiah a naa.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30To nongpata loe angmah im ah amlaem, to naah a canu takoh thung hoiah taqawk to tacawt boeh moe, iihkhun nuiah ka-iip a canu to a hnuk.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31Tura hoi Sidon vangpui to tacawt taak moe, Dekapolis prae thung hoiah Kalili tuipui bangah a caeh.
31¶ And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32To ahmuen ah naa pangh moe, lok doeh ka-aa kami maeto, anih khaeah hoih o; a nuiah ban koeng pae hanah tahmenhaih a hnik pae o.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33Anih mah to kami to pop parai kaminawk salak hoiah ahmuen kalah bangah caeh haih, anih ih naa khaw to ban pazung hoiah tapawh pae, tamtui pathoih pae moe, palai to a sui pae;
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34van bangah doeng tahang moe, kasawkah anghah pacoengah, Eph-phatha, tiah a thuih, thuih koehhaih loe, Am-ong lai ah, tih haih ih ni.
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35Akra ai ah to kami ih naa to amongh pae moe, palai thaqui doeh naem pae boeh pongah, kahoihah lok apaeh thai roep.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36Mi khaeah doeh thui hmah, tiah a naa: toe nihcae mah kanung aep ah a thuih o.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it ;
37To ah kaom kaminawk loe dawnrai o boih, anih loe hmuen boih kahoihah sak: naapang kami to naa amongsak moe, lokaa doeh lok apaehsak, tiah a thuih o.
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
