1When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.
1Кад Израиљ беше дете, љубих га, и из Мисира дозвах сина свог.
2But the more I called Israel, the farther they departed from Me. They sacrificed to the Baals and burned incense to carved images.
2Колико их зваше, толико они одлазише од њих; приносише жртве Валима, кадише ликовима.
3It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never realized that it was I who healed them.
3Ја учих Јефрема ходити држећи га за руке, али не познаше да сам их ја лечио.
4I led them with cords of kindness, with ropes of love; I lifted the yoke from their necks and bent down to feed them.
4Вукох их узицама човечијим, ужима љубавним; и бих им као они који им скидају јарам с чељусти, и давах им храну.
5Will they not return to the land of Egypt and be ruled by Assyria because they refused to repent?
5Неће се вратити у земљу мисирску, него ће му Асирац бити цар, јер се не хтеше обратити.
6A sword will flash through their cities; it will destroy the bars of their gates and consume them in their own plans.
6И мач ће стајати у градовима његовим, и потрће преворнице његове и прождрети за намере њихове.
7My people are bent on turning from Me. Though they call to the Most High, He will by no means exalt them.
7Народ је мој прионуо за отпад од мене; зову га ка Вишњем, али се ниједан не подиже.
8How could I give you up, O Ephraim? How could I surrender you, O Israel? How could I make you like Admah? How could I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within Me; My compassion is stirred!
8Како да те дам, Јефреме? Да те предам, Израиљу? Како да учиним од тебе као од Адаме? Да те обратим да будеш као Севојим? Устрептало је срце моје у мени, усколебала се утроба моја од жалости.
9I will not execute the full fury of My anger; I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy One among you— and I will not come in wrath.
9Нећу извршити љутог гнева свог, нећу опет затрти Јефрема; јер сам ја Бог а не човек, Светац усред тебе; нећу доћи на град.
10They will walk after the LORD; He will roar like a lion. When He roars, His children will come trembling from the west.
10Ићи ће они за Господом; Он ће рикати као лав; кад рикне, са страхом ће дотрчати синови с мора;
11They will come trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.
11Са страхом ће дотрчати из Мисира као птица, и као голуб из земље асирске; и населићу их у кућама њиховим, говори Господ.
12Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.
