1Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead—
1Mimi Paulo mtume,
2and all the brothers with me, To the churches of Galatia:
2na ndugu wote walio pamoja nami, tunayaandikia makanisa yaliyoko Galatia. Mimi nimepata kuwa mtume si kutokana na mamlaka ya binadamu, wala si kwa nguvu ya mtu, bali kwa uwezo wa Yesu Kristo na wa Mungu Baba aliyemfufua Yesu kutoka wafu.
3Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
3Tunawatakieni neema na amani kutoka kwa Mungu Baba yetu na kutoka kwa Bwana Yesu Kristo.
4who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
4Kristo alijitoa mwenyewe kwa ajili ya dhambi zetu kufuatana na mapenzi ya Mungu wetu na Baba, ili apate kutuokoa katika ulimwengu huu mbaya wa sasa.
5to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
5Kwake yeye uwe utukufu milele! Amina.
6I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
6Nashangaa kwamba muda mfupi tu umepita, nanyi mnamwasi yule aliyewaita kwa neema ya Kristo, mkafuata Habari Njema ya namna nyingine.
7which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.
7Lakini hakuna “Habari Njema” nyingine. Ukweli ni kwamba wako watu wanaowavurugeni, watu wanaotaka kuipotosha Habari Njema ya Kristo.
8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!
8Lakini, hata kama mmoja wetu au malaika kutoka mbinguni, atawahubirieni Habari Njema tofauti na ile tuliyowahubirieni sisi, basi huyo na alaaniwe!
9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
9Tulikwisha sema, na sasa nasema tena: kama mtu yeyote anawahubirieni Habari Njema ya aina nyingine, tofauti na ile mliyokwisha pokea, huyo na alaaniwe!
10Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
10Sasa nataka kibali cha nani: cha binadamu, ama cha Mungu? Au je, nataka kuwapendeza watu? Kama ningefanya hivyo, mimi singekuwa kamwe mtumishi wa Kristo.
11For I certify to you, brothers, that the gospel I preached was not devised by man.
11Ndugu, napenda mfahamu kwamba ile Habari Njema niliyoihubiri si ujumbe wa kibinadamu.
12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
12Wala mimi sikuipokea kutoka kwa binadamu, wala sikufundishwa na mtu. Yesu Kristo mwenyewe ndiye aliyenifunulia.
13For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how severely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
13Bila shaka mlikwisha sikia jinsi nilivyokuwa ninaishi zamani kwa kuzingatia dini ya Kiyahudi, na jinsi nilivyolitesa kanisa la Mungu kupita kiasi na kutaka kuliharibu kabisa.
14I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
14Naam, mimi niliwashinda wengi wa wananchi wenzangu wa rika langu katika kuizingatia dini ya Kiyahudi, nikajitahidi sana kuyashika mapokeo ya wazee wetu.
15But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased

16to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not rush to consult with flesh and blood,
16Mara tu alipoamua kunifunulia Mwanae kusudi niihubiri Habari Njema yake kwa watu wa mataifa mengine, bila kutafuta maoni ya binadamu,
17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles who came before me, but I went into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.
17na bila kwenda kwanza Yerusalemu kwa wale waliopata kuwa mitume kabla yangu, nilikwenda kwanza Arabia, kisha nikarudi tena Damasko.
18Only after three years did I go up to Jerusalem to confer with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days.
18Ilikuwa tu baada ya miaka mitatu, ndipo nilipokwenda Yerusalemu kuonana na Kefa; nilikaa kwake siku kumi na tano.
19But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
19Lakini sikuwaona mitume wengine isipokuwa Yakobo, ndugu yake Bwana.
20I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie.
20Haya ninayowaandikieni, Mungu anajua; sisemi uongo.
21Later I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
21Baadaye nilikwenda katika tarafa za Siria na Kilikia.
22I was personally unknown, however, to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
22Wakati huo, mimi binafsi sikujulikana kwa jumuiya za Wakristo kule Yudea.
23They only heard the account: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
23Walichokuwa wanajua ni kile tu walichosikia: “Mtu yule aliyekuwa akitutesa hapo awali, sasa anaihubiri imani ileile aliyokuwa anajaribu kuiangamiza.”
24And they glorified God because of me.
24Basi, wakamtukuza Mungu kwa sababu yangu.
