1Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, To those who are called, loved by God the Father, and kept in Jesus Christ:
1Mimi Yuda, mtumishi wa Yesu Kristo, ndugu yake Yakobo, nawaandikia ninyi mlioitwa na Mungu na ambao mnaishi katika upendo wa Mungu Baba, na katika ulinzi wa Yesu Kristo.
2Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
2Nawatakieni huruma, amani na upendo kwa wingi.
3Beloved, although I made every effort to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt it necessary to write and urge you to contend earnestly for the faith entrusted once for all to the saints.
3Ndugu wapenzi, wakati nimo katika jitihada ya kuwaandikieni juu ya ule wokovu tunaoshiriki sote, nimeona lazima ya kuwaandikieni na kuwahimizeni mwendelee kupigana kwa ajili ya imani ambayo Mungu amewajalia watu wake mara moja tu kwa wakati wote.
4For certain men have crept in among you unnoticed—ungodly ones who were designated long ago for condemnation. They turn the grace of our God into a license for immorality, and they deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
4Maana watu wasiomcha Mungu wamepata kujiingiza kwa siri miongoni mwetu, watu ambao, kwa faida ya maisha yao mabaya, wanaupotosha ujumbe wa neema ya Mungu wetu na kumkana Yesu Kristo aliye peke yake kiongozi na Bwana wetu. Maandiko Matakatifu yalikwisha bashiri tangu awali hukumu inayowangojea watu hao.
5Although you are fully aware of this, I want to remind you that after Jesus had delivered His people out of the land of Egypt, He destroyed those who did not believe.
5Nataka kuwakumbusheni mambo fulani ambayo mmekwisha yajua: kumbukeni jinsi Bwana alivyowaokoa watu wa Israeli na kuwatoa katika nchi ya Misri, lakini baadaye aliwaangamiza wale ambao hawakuamini.
6And the angels who did not stay within their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling—these He has kept in eternal chains under darkness, bound for judgment on that great day.
6Na, malaika ambao hawakuridhika na cheo chao, wakayaacha makao yao ya asili, Mungu amewafunga gizani kwa minyororo ya milele wahukumiwe Siku ile kuu.
7In like manner, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, who indulged in sexual immorality and pursued strange flesh, are on display as an example of those who sustain the punishment of eternal fire.
7Kumbukeni pia Sodoma na Gomora, na miji ya kandokando yake; wenyeji wake walifanya kama wale malaika; walifanya uzinzi na mambo yaliyo kinyume cha maumbile, wakapewa hukumu ya moto wa milele, iwe onyo kwa watu wote.
8Yet in the same way these dreamers defile their bodies, reject authority, and slander glorious beings.
8Hivyo ndivyo pia walivyo watu hawa. ndoto zao huwaongoza katika kuichafua miili yao wenyewe, kuyadharau mamlaka ya Mungu na kuvitukana viumbe vitukufu vya huko juu.
9But even the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous charge against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
9Hata Mikaeli, malaika mkuu, hakufanya hivyo. Katika ule ubishi kati yake na Ibilisi waliobishana juu ya mwili wa Mose, Mikaeli hakuthubutu kumhukumu Ibilisi kwa matusi; ila alisema: “Bwana mwenyewe na akukaripie.”
10These men, however, slander what they do not understand, and like irrational animals, they will be destroyed by the things they do instinctively.
10Lakini watu hawa hutukana chochote wasichokielewa; mambo yaleyale wanayoyajua kwa silika kama vile wanyama wanayoyajua ndiyo yanayowaangamiza.
11Woe to them! They have traveled the path of Cain; they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam; they have perished in Korah’s rebellion.
11Ole wao! Watu hao wamefuata mwenendo uleule wa Kaini. Kwa ajili ya fedha, wamejiingiza katika mkosi uleule wa Baalamu. Wameasi kama Kora alivyoasi na wameangamizwa kama yeye alivyoangamizwa.
12These men are hidden reefs in your love feasts, shamelessly feasting with you but shepherding only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried along by the wind; fruitless trees in autumn, twice dead after being uprooted.
12Kwa makelele yao yasiyo na adabu, watu hao ni kama madoa machafu katika mikutano yenu ya karamu ya Bwana. Hujipendelea wao wenyewe tu, na wako kama mawingu yanayopeperushwa huko na huko na upepo bila ya kuleta mvua. Wao ni kama miti isiyozaa matunda hata wakati wa majira yake, wamekufa kabisa.
13They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
13Watu hao ni kama mawimbi makali ya bahari, na matendo yao ya aibu yanaonekana dhahiri kama vile mapovu ya mawimbi. Wao ni kama nyota zinazotangatanga, ambao Mungu amewawekea mahali pao milele katika giza kuu.
14Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about them: “Behold, the Lord is coming with myriads of His holy ones
14Henoki, ambaye ni babu wa saba tangu Adamu, alibashiri hivi juu ya watu hawa: “Sikilizeni! Bwana atakuja pamoja na maelfu ya malaika wake watakatifu
15to execute judgment on everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of every ungodly act of wickedness and every harsh word spoken against Him by ungodly sinners.”
15kutoa hukumu juu ya binadamu wote, kuwahukumu wote kwa ajili ya matendo yao yote maovu waliyotenda na kwa ajili ya maneno yote mabaya ambayo watu waovu walimkashifu nayo.”
16These men are discontented grumblers, following after their own lusts; their mouths spew arrogance; they flatter others for their own advantage.
16Watu hawa wananung'unika daima na kuwalaumu watu wengine. Hufuata tamaa zao mbaya, hujigamba na kuwasifu watu wengine mno kusudi wafaulu katika mipango yao.
17But you, beloved, remember what was foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ
17Lakini ninyi wapenzi wangu, kumbukeni yale mliyoambiwa hapo awali ni mitume wa Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo.
18when they said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow after their own ungodly desires.”
18Waliwaambieni: “Siku za mwisho zitakapofika, watatokea watu watakaowadhihaki ninyi, watu wafuatao tamaa zao mbaya.”
19These are the ones who cause divisions, who are worldly and devoid of the Spirit.
19Hao ndio watu wanaosababisha mafarakano, watu wanaotawaliwa na tamaa zao za kidunia, watu wasio na Roho wa Mungu.
20But you, beloved, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
20Lakini ninyi, wapenzi wangu, endeleeni kujijenga kikamilifu katika imani yenu takatifu. Salini kwa nguvu ya Roho Mtakatifu,
21keep yourselves in the love of God as you await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.
21na kubaki katika upendo wa Mungu, mkiwa mnamngojea Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo awapeni uzima wa milele kwa huruma yake.
22And indeed, have mercy on those who doubt;
22Muwe na huruma kwa watu walio na mashaka;
23save others by snatching them from the fire; and to still others show mercy tempered with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
23waokoeni kwa kuwanyakua kutoka motoni; na kwa wengine muwe na huruma pamoja na hofu, lakini chukieni hata mavazi yao ambayo yamechafuliwa na tamaa zao mbaya.
24Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy—
24Kwake yeye awezaye kuwalinda msije mkaanguka, na kuwaleta ninyi bila hatia mpaka mbele ya utukufu wake,
25to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.
25kwake yeye aliye peke yake Mungu, Mkombozi wetu, uwe utukufu, ukuu, nguvu na mamlaka kwa njia ya Kristo Bwana wetu, tangu zama zote, sasa na hata milele! Amina.
