1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.
1Kristo alitupa uhuru akataka tubaki huru. Basi, simameni imara wala msikubali tena kuwa chini ya nira ya utumwa.
2Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.
2Sikilizeni! Ni mimi Paulo ninayesema nanyi! Kama mkikubali kutahiriwa, Kristo hatawafaidia chochote.
3Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.
3Nasema tena wazi: kila anayekubali kutahiriwa itambidi kuishika Sheria yote.
4You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
4Kama mnatazamia kukubaliwa kuwa waadilifu kwa njia ya Sheria, basi, mmejitenga mbali na Kristo; mko nje ya neema ya Mungu.
5But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the hope of righteousness.
5Kwa upande wetu, lakini, sisi tunatumaini kwamba kwa nguvu ya Roho tunakubaliwa kuwa waadilifu kwa njia ya imani.
6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

7You were running so well. Who has obstructed you from obeying the truth?

8Such persuasion does not come from the One who calls you.
8Aliyesababisha hali hiyo si Mungu ambaye amewaiteni.
9A little leaven works through the whole batch of dough.
9“chachu kidogo tu huchachusha donge lote la unga!”
10I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.
10Kutokana na kuungana kwetu na Bwana, nina tumaini kubwa kwamba ninyi hamtakuwa na msimamo tofauti nami. Tena yeyote huyo anayewavurugeni—awe nani au nani—hakika ataadhibiwa.
11Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
11Na kwa upande wangu, ndugu zangu, kama bado ninahubiri kwamba kutahiriwa ni lazima, kwa nini basi, bado ninadhulumiwa? Kama ingalikuwa hivyo, mahubiri yangu juu ya msalaba wa Kristo yasingalileta aibu yoyote.
12As for those who are agitating you, I wish they would proceed to emasculate themselves!
12Laiti hao wanaowavurugeni wangejikatakata wenyewe!
13For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.
13Ninyi, ndugu, mliitwa muwe watu huru. Lakini uhuru huo usiwe kisingizio cha kutawaliwa na tamaa za kidunia; ila mnapaswa kutumikiana kwa upendo.
14The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
14Maana Sheria yote hutimizwa katika kushika amri hii moja: “Mpende jirani yako kama unavyojipenda mwenyewe.”
15But if you keep on biting and devouring one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.
15Lakini ikiwa mtaumana na kutafunana kama wanyama, jihadharini msije mkaangamizana wenyewe kwa wenyewe!
16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
16Basi, nasema hivi: mwenendo wenu na uongozwe na Roho, nanyi hamtafuata tena tamaa za kidunia.
17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.
17Maana, tamaa za kidunia hupingana na matakwa ya Roho; na matakwa ya Roho hupingana na tamaa za kidunia. Mambo hayo mawili hayaafikiani; kwa sababu hiyo hamwezi kufanya yale mnayotaka ninyi wenyewe.
18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
18Kama mkiongozwa na Roho, basi, hamko tena chini ya Sheria.
19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery;
19Basi, matendo ya kidunia yanajulikana: uzinzi, uasherati, ufisadi;
20idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions,
20kuabudu sanamu, uchawi, uadui, ugomvi, wivu, hasira, choyo, mabishano, mafarakano;
21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
21husuda, ulevi, ulafi na mambo mengine kama hayo. Nawaambieni tena kama nilivyokwisha sema: watu wanaotenda mambo hayo hawatakuwa na nafasi yao katika ufalme wa Mungu.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
22Lakini matokeo ya kuongozwa na Roho ni mapendo, furaha, amani, uvumilivu, wema, fadhili, uaminifu,
23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
23upole na kuwa na kiasi. Hakuna Sheria inayoweza kupinga mambo hayo.
24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
24Wale walio wa Kristo wameisulubisha hali yao ya kidunia pamoja na mawazo yake mabaya na tamaa zake.
25Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.
25Tukiishi kwa msaada wa Roho, na tuufuate mwongozo wake.
26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.
26Basi, tusijivune, tusichokozane wala kuoneana wivu.
