Men Rom 7
Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1DE ri ai kan, komail jota aja i kin peidok ren me aja kapun o me kapun o kin poedi aramaj arain a memaur?
1Know you not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) that the law hath dominion over a man, as long as it liveth?
2Pwe li amen, me a warok mia, kin kaupinki kapun en a warok arain a memaur. A ma a warok melar, a muei janer kapun en a warok.
2For the woman that hath an husband, whilst her husband liveth is bound to the law. But if her husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3A ma a pan paudeki amen ol ni a warok memaur, a pan adaneki kamal amen; a ma a warok melar, a muei janer kapun, ap jota pan kamal amen, ma a pan pur on amen ol.
3Therefore, whilst her husband liveth, she shall be called an adulteress, if she be with another man: but if her husband be dead, she is delivered from the law of her husband; so that she is not an adulteress, if she be with another man.
4Ari ri ai kan, iduen pil komail mekilar kapun o pweki war en Krijtuj, pwen wiala nain amen, iet, me iajadar jan ren me melar akan, pwen kaparapar on Kot.
4Therefore, my brethren, you also are become dead to the law, by the body of Christ; that you may belong to another, who is risen again from the dead, that we may bring forth fruit to God.
5Pwe ni at kekeideki tiak en pali uduk, inon en dip me kelail nan kokon atail pweki kapun o, pwen kaparapar on mela.
5For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members, to bring forth fruit unto death.
6A met kitail muei janer kapun o, pwe jal pat on mela olar, pwe kitail en papa on tiak kap en nen, a kaidin on tiak marin en intin.
6But now we are loosed from the law of death, wherein we were detained; so that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7Ari, da me kitail en inda? Me dip kapun o? O jo! A i pan jaja dip, ma jo kapun. Pwe I pan jaja duen inon jued, ma kapun jo kalok kidar: Koe der norok!
7What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? God forbid. But I do not know sin, but by the law; for I had not known concupiscence, if the law did not say: Thou shalt not covet.
8A dip kadiarok kidar kujoned, ap kainon on ia jon en inon jued karoj, pwe ma jota kapun dip mela.
8But sin taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9Pwe maj o i jota mi pan kapun, ap mamaureta, a kujoned lao mia, dip ai ap diarokadar.
9And I lived some time without the law. But when the commandment came, sin revived,
10A nai melar; kujoned, me loki don ia, pwe i en maure kida, kare on ia mela.
10And I died. And the commandment that was ordained to life, the same was found to be unto death to me.
11Pwe dip kadiarok kidar kujoned liapai ia dar, ap kame ia lar.
11For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, seduced me, and by it killed me.
12Ari, kapun o me jaraui o kujoned me jaraui, a pun o mau.
12Wherefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13A iaduen me mau kot kare on ia mela? O jo! A dip en janjale kida me kamau o ni a kare on ia mela, pwe dip en janjale kida kujoned.
13Was that then which is good, made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it may appear sin, by that which is good, wrought death in me; that sin, by the commandment, might become sinful above measure.
14Pwe kitail aja, me kapun o me nenin, a nai me uduken o netilan dip.
14For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15Pwe i jota aja, da me i en wia. Pwe kaidin me i mauki, me i kin wiada, a me i kin juedeki, iei me i kin wia.
15For that which I work, I understand not. For I do not that good which I will; but the evil which I hate, that I do.
16Ari, ma i kin wiada, me i kan wia, nan i kin kajanjaleda, me kapun me mau.
16If then I do that which I will not, I consent to the law, that it is good.
17A ma i wiadar, me i jota men wia, kaidin nai me wiadar, a dip me mimi lol i.
17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18Pwe i aja, me jota mau kot mi lol i nan uduk ai, pwe i kin men wiada me mau, a en anada me pun i jota kak on.
18For I know that there dwelleth not in me, that is to say, in my flesh, that which is good. For to will, is present with me; but to accomplish that which is good, I find not.
19Pwe me mau o, me i men wiada, i jota kin kapwaida, a me jued, me i kan, i me i kin wiada.
19For the good which I will, I do not; but the evil which I will not, that I do.
20A ma i wiada, me i jo men wiada, kaidin nai me wiada, a dip me mi lol i.
20Now if I do that which I will not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21let me kapun kadiarok on ia: Ni ai men wiada me mau, me jued mimi re i.
21I find then a law, that when I have a will to do good, evil is present with me.
22Pwe i kin mauki kapun en Kot pali lol en aramaj.
22For I am delighted with the law of God, according to the inward man:
23I ap diaradar eu kapun ni ai kokon akan, me kin palian kapun en loli, ap kalua ia di pan kapun en dip, me mi nan ai kokon akan.
23But I see another law in my members, fighting against the law of my mind, and captivating me in the law of sin, that is in my members.
24O nai aramaj luet amen! Ij me pan kamaio wei ia jan ni war mela wet!
24Unhappy man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25I danke Kot pweki Iejuj Krijtuj atail Kaun. Nan lol i i kin papan kapun en Kot, a ni pali uduk kapun en dip.
25The grace of God, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with the mind serve the law of God; but with the flesh, the law of sin.
