Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1A AP kotin tapiada padaki irail ni karajeraj akan: Aramaj amen me padukedi mat en krep eu o kele pena, ap weirada deun wunit krep eu, o kauada im en jilajil eu, ap mueidalan jaumat akai, ap momaitelan nan wai.
1And he began to speak to them in parables: A certain man planted a vineyard and made a hedge about it, and dug a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it to husbandmen; and went into a far country.
2Kadekadeo anjaun rak, a ap kadaralan jaumat oko ladu amen, pwen ale ren jaumat oko kijan wan matuel o.
2And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant to receive of the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3Re ap jaikidi, kame o ari, kadarala kaip.
3Who having laid hands on him, beat him, and sent him away empty.
4A ap pil kadaralan irail amen ladu, re ap kate, pwalan on mona, ap kadarala i kajaroela.
4And again he sent to them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and used him reproachfully.
5A ap pil kadarala amen; re ap kamela; pil me toto re woki akai, a re kamela akai.
5And again he sent another, and him they killed: and many others, of whom some they beat, and others they killed.
6Ari, na ieroj eu, me a pokepoke, i me a kadarala ikmuri, a majani: Re pan wauneki nai ol.
6Therefore having yet one son, most dear to him; he also sent him unto them last of all, saying: They will reverence my son.
7A jaumat pukat inda pena nan pun arail: Jeri en jojo met; na, kitail en kamela! Ari, kitail ap pan id aneki jojo o;
7But the husbandmen said one to another: This is the heir; come let us kill him; and the inheritance shall be ours.
8Re ap ale, kamela, kajewei jan nan mat en krep.
8And laying hold on him, they killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9Ari, da me jaumaj en mat o pan wia? A pan kodo, kamela jaumat oko; a ap pan mueid on akai matuel o.
9What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen; and will give the vineyard to others.
10Komail jota wadoker kijin Iikau et: Takai, me jauje kan kajapokelar ap id wialar takai en pukakaim?
10And have you not read this scripture, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:
11Mepukat wiauier ren Kaun o, men kapuriamui patail.
11By the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
12Irail ari jojon pwen jaikidi i, a re majak aramaj akan, pwe re aja, me a karajeraje kin irail. Irail ari kokola jan re a.
12And they sought to lay hands on him, but they feared the people. For they knew that he spoke this parable to them. And leaving him, they went their way.
13Irail ap kadaralan re a Parijar o ian en Erodej akai, pwen kajapune i jan ni a majan.
13And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians; that they should catch him in his words.
14Ari, ni ar kodo, re potoan on i: Jaunpadak, je aja, me komui me melel o jota injenoki meamen. Pwe komui jota lipilipil maj en aramaj, a kom kaukawewe al en Kot ni me pun. Me pun, en nopweiki moni on nanmarki de jo? Je en kida, de je ender kida?
14Who coming, say to him: Master, we know that thou art a true speaker, and carest not for any man; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar; or shall we not give it?
15A a kotin mani ar malaun majani on irail: Menda komail jonejon ia? Wa don ia eu denar en, pwe I en kilan.
15Who knowing their wiliness, saith to them: Why tempt you me? bring me a penny that I may see it.
16Irail ap wado. A ap kotin majani on irail: Mom o intin en ij met akan? Irail potoan on i: En nanmarki.
16And they brought it him. And he saith to them: Whose is this image and inscription? They say to him, Caesar’s.
17lejuj ap kotin japen, majani on irail: Ari, komail ki on nanmarki me nain nanmarki, o on Kot me japwilim en Kot. Re ap puriamui kila i.
17And Jesus answering, said to them: Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.
18Jadujar akai ap ko don re a, me kin inda me dene jota me pan maureda jan mela. Re ap peidok re a indada:
18And there came to him the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying:
19Jaunpadak, Mojej intine don kit er, ma ri en ol amen mela, kidi a paud, jota na jeri ko, a ri a ol ap pan id ale a paud, pwen wiada kadaudok a on ri a ol o.
19Master, Moses wrote unto us, that if any man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
20Ari pirien, ol ijimen mia. Men maj re ’rail paude kida li amen ap melar, jota kadaudok a.
20Now there were seven brethren; and the first took a wife, and died leaving no issue.
21Men muri ap id ale, ap melar, pil jota kadaudok a. A kajilimen pil dueta.
21And the second took her, and died: and neither did he leave any issue. And the third in like manner.
22A irail ijimen oko paude kida i, jota kadaudok a. Ari, murin karoj li o ari pil melar.
22And the seven all took her in like manner; and did not leave issue. Last of all the woman also died.
23Ran en iajada ni ar pan maureda, ij me pan paudeki i re ’rail, pwe irail ijimen oko paude kier i?
23In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise again, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24lejuj ap kotin japen, majani on irail: Omail jota lelapokki kijin likau kan o rojon en Kot, kaidik iei me kareda omail jaj kida?
24And Jesus answering, saith to them: Do ye not therefore err, because you know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
25Pwe irail pan lao maureda jan ren me melar akan, re jola pan papaud de kapapaud. A re pan duela tounlan kan me mimi nanlan.
25For when they shall rise again from the dead, they shall neither marry, nor be married, but are as the angels in heaven.
26Ari, duen me melar akan ar pan maureda, komail jota wadoker nan puk en Mojej, duen Kot a kotin majani on i nan wel en tuka o: Nai Kot en Apraain, o Kot en Ijaak, o Kot en Iakop!
26And as concerning the dead that they rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27Kaidin i Kot en me melar akan, pwe Kot en memaureta! Iei, me komail jaj kida kaualap.
27He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You therefore do greatly err.
28Ari, amen ren jaunkawewe kan ap potodo, me roner duen ar kapakaparok pena, ap kajauiada, me a pajapen me inen, ap idok re a: Ia mo en kujoned karoj?
28And there came one of the scribes that had heard them reasoning together, and seeing that he had answered them well, asked him which was the first commandment of all.
29lejuj ari majani on i: Iet mo en kujoned akan: Ron Ijrael! Kaun patail Kot me Kaun me ta men.
29And Jesus answered him: The first commandment of all is, Hear, O Israel: the Lord thy God is one God.
30Ari, koe en poke ki on Kaun, om Kot, monion om unjok, o nen om unjok, o om lamelam unjok, o om kel unjok! lei met me mo en kujoned akan.
30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength. This is the first commandment.
31A kariau me dueta. let et: Koe en pok on men imp om due pein koe! Jota eu kujoned me lapajan mepukat.
31And the second is like to it: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
32Jaunkawewe ap potoan on i: Me mau Jaunpadak! Melel me kom majani en! Pwe i me ta men, a jota pil amen, pwe i ota!
32And the scribe said to him: Well, Master, thou hast said in truth, that there is one God, and there is no other besides him.
33O poke ki on i monion unjok, o lamelam unjok, o nen unjok, o kel unjok, o pok, on men impa due pein i, mau jan mairon ijij o mairon tei kan.
33And that he should be loved with the whole heart, and with the whole understanding, and with the whole soul, and with the whole strength; and to love one’s neighbour as one’s self, is a greater thing than all holocausts and sacrifices.
34Ni en Iejuj a kotin majani a pajapen a inen, a ap majani on i: Kom jota doo jan wein Kot. Ari, ap jolar, me men pil idok re a meakot.
34And Jesus seeing that he had answered wisely, said to him: Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35Iejuj ap pil kotin japen majani ni a kotin kaukawewe nan im en kaudok o: Da me jaunkawewe kan indaki, me Krijtuj nain Dawid?
35And Jesus answering, said, teaching in the temple: How do the scribes say, that Christ is the son of David?
36Pwe pein Dawid majaniki ren Nen jaraui: Kaun o kotin majani on ai Kaun: Kom kotidi on pali maun i, I lao wia kida wutipan aluwilu omui om imwintiti kan!
36For David himself saith by the Holy Ghost: The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool.
37Ari, Dawid pein kaadaneki I Kaun; a daduen a wia na? Aramaj akan ap mauki a padak.
37David therefore himself calleth him Lord, and whence is he then his son? And a great multitude heard him gladly.
38A ap kotin majani on irail ni a padak: Kalaka jaunkawewe kan, me mauki mi nan likau reirei o men, re en ranmaui ir nan wajan net.
38And he said to them in his doctrine: Beware of the scribes, who love to walk in long robes, and to be saluted in the marketplace,
39O men mod leppantam nan jinakoke kan o kamadip.
39And to sit in the first chairs, in the synagogues, and to have the highest places at suppers:
40O noper jan li odi im ar, ap liliajoj kapakap reirei. Irail pan lodi on kadeik lapalap.
40Who devour the houses of widows under the pretence of long prayer: these shall receive greater judgment.
41Iejuj ap kotikot jal on deun moni en mairon, ap mamajani, en aramaj ar kajedi on moni nan deu o. A me toto, me kapwapwa, kajedi on me toto.
41And Jesus sitting over against the treasury, beheld how the people cast money into the treasury, and many that were rich cast in much.
42Li odi jamama ap kodo o kajedi on kijin moni riakij, me wiada kwadranj eu.
42And there came a certain poor widow, and she cast in two mites, which make a farthing.
43A ap kotin molipedo japwilim a tounpadak kan, majani on ir: Melel I indai on komail, me liodi jamama men et kajedi on me laude jan irail karoj, me pil kajedi on nan deun moni o.
43And calling his disciples together, he saith to them: Amen I say to you, this poor widow hath cast in more than all they who have cast into the treasury.
44Pwe karoj kajedi on jan ni ar pai. A i me kajedi on jan ni a jamama, karoj me a, i eta a mana.
44For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want cast in all she had, even her whole living.
