1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
1“Que o coração de vocês não fique perturbado. Creiam em Deus. Creiam também em mim.
2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so , I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
2Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas. Se não fosse assim, eu teria dito a vocês. Vou preparar um lugar para vocês.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
3E se eu for e preparar um lugar para vocês, virei outra vez e os receberei comigo; para que onde eu estou, vocês também estejam.
4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
4Vocês sabem para onde eu vou, e conhecem o caminho.”
5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
5Tomé lhe disse: “Senhor, não sabemos para onde vais. Como podemos saber o caminho?”
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
6Jesus lhe disse: “Eu sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida. Ninguém vem ao Pai, a não ser por mim.
7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
7Se vocês me conhecessem, também conheceriam a meu Pai. De agora em diante, vocês o conhecem e já o viram.”
8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
8Filipe lhe disse: “Senhor, mostra-nos o Pai, e isso nos basta.”
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then , Shew us the Father?
9Jesus lhe disse: “Estou com vocês há tanto tempo, e você não me conhece, Filipe? Quem me vê, vê o Pai. Como você diz: ‘Mostra-nos o Pai’?
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
10Você não crê que eu estou no Pai, e o Pai em mim? As palavras que eu digo a vocês, não as falo por mim mesmo; mas o Pai, que vive em mim, faz as suas obras.
11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
11Creiam em mim quando digo que estou no Pai, e o Pai em mim; ou então creiam-me por causa das próprias obras.
12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
12Em verdade, em verdade lhes digo: aquele que crê em mim, também fará as obras que eu faço; e fará obras maiores do que estas, porque eu vou para o meu Pai.
13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
13E tudo o que vocês pedirem em meu nome, eu o farei, para que o Pai seja glorificado no Filho.
14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
14Se vocês pedirem qualquer coisa em meu nome, eu o farei.
15¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.
15Se vocês me amam, guardem os meus mandamentos.
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
16Eu rogarei ao Pai, e ele lhes dará outro Consolador, para que esteja com vocês para sempre:
17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
17o Espírito da verdade, que o mundo não pode receber, porque não o vê nem o conhece. Vocês o conhecem, porque ele vive com vocês e estará em vocês.
18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
18Não os deixarei órfãos. Voltarei para vocês.
19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
19Mais um pouco, e o mundo não me verá mais; mas vocês me verão. Porque eu vivo, vocês também viverão.
20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
20Naquele dia vocês saberão que eu estou em meu Pai, e vocês em mim, e eu em vocês.
21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
21Aquele que tem os meus mandamentos e os guarda, esse é o que me ama. Aquele que me ama será amado por meu Pai, e eu o amarei, e me revelarei a ele.”
22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
22Judas (não o Iscariotes) lhe disse: “Senhor, por que você vai se revelar a nós e não ao mundo?”
23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
23Jesus lhe respondeu: “Se alguém me ama, guardará a minha palavra. Meu Pai o amará, e nós viremos para ele e faremos nele a nossa morada.
24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
24Quem não me ama não guarda as minhas palavras. A palavra que vocês ouvem não é minha, mas do Pai que me enviou.
25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
25“Tenho dito estas coisas a vocês enquanto ainda estou com vocês.
26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
26Mas o Consolador, o Espírito Santo, a quem o Pai enviará em meu nome, lhes ensinará todas as coisas e fará vocês se lembrarem de tudo o que eu disse.
27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
27Deixo-lhes a paz. A minha paz lhes dou; não a dou como o mundo a dá. Que o coração de vocês não fique perturbado nem tenha medo.
28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
28Vocês ouviram o que eu lhes disse: ‘Vou embora, e voltarei para vocês.’ Se vocês me amassem, se alegrariam porque eu disse: ‘Vou para o meu Pai’; pois o Pai é maior do que eu.
29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
29Agora eu lhes disse isso antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, vocês creiam.
30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
30Já não falarei muito com vocês, pois o príncipe do mundo vem, e ele não tem nada em mim.
31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
31Mas para que o mundo saiba que eu amo o Pai, e que faço assim como o Pai me ordenou. Levantem-se, vamos sair daqui.
