1When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
1Кад Господ Бог твој потре народе којих земљу даје теби Господ Бог твој, и кад их наследиш и настаниш се по градовима њиховим и по кућама њиховим,
2Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
2одвој три града усред земље своје коју ти даје Господ Бог твој да је наследиш,
3Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.
3начини пут, и раздели на троје крајеве земље своје коју ти да Господ Бог твој у наследство, па нека бежи онамо сваки крвник.
4¶ And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;
4А овако нека буде с крвником који утече онамо, да би остао жив: ко убије ближњег свог нехотице, не мрзевши пре на њ,
5As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:
5као кад би ко отишао с ближњим својим у шуму да сече дрва, па би замахнуо секиром у руци својој да посече дрво, а она би спала с држалице и погодила би ближњег његова тако да умре он нека утече у који од тих градова да остане жив,
6Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
6да не би осветник потерао крвника док му је срце распаљено и да га не би стигао на далеком путу и убио га, премда није заслужио смрт, јер није пре мрзео на њ.
7Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
7Зато ти заповедам и велим: три града одвој.
8And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
8А кад рашири Господ Бог твој међе твоје као што се заклео оцима твојим, и да ти сву земљу коју је рекао дати оцима твојим,
9If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
9ако уздржиш и уствориш све ове заповести, које ти ја данас заповедам, да љубиш Господа Бога свог и ходиш путевима Његовим свагда, онда додај још три града осим она три,
10That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.
10да се не пролива крв права у земљи твојој, коју ти Господ Бог твој даје у наследство, и да не буде на теби крв.
11¶ But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
11Али ако ко мрзи на ближњег свог и вреба га, и скочи на њ, и удари га тако да умре, а он утече у који од тих градова,
12Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
12онда старешине места његова нека пошаљу и узму га оданде, и предаду га у руке осветнику да се погуби.
13Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
13Нека га не жали око твоје него скини крв праву с Израиља, да би ти добро било.
14¶ Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
14Не помичи међе ближњег свог коју поставе стари у наследству твом које добијеш у земљи коју ти Господ Бог твој даје да је наследиш.
15¶ One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
15Нека не устаје један сведок на човека ни за како зло и ни за какав грех између свих греха који се чине, него на речима два или три сведока да остаје ствар.
16¶ If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
16Ако би устао лажан сведок на кога да сведочи на њега да се одмеће Бога,
17Then both the men, between whom the controversy is , shall stand before the LORD , before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
17онда нека стану та два човека, који имају ту распру, пред Господа, пред свештенике и пред судије које буду у то време;
18And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
18и нека добро испитају судије, ако сведок онај буде лажан сведок и лажно сведочи на брата свог,
19Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
19учините му онако како је он мислио учинити брату свом и извади зло из себе,
20And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
20да се остали чувши то боје, и унапред више не чине тако зло усред тебе.
21And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
21Нека не жали око твоје: живот за живот, око за око, зуб за зуб, руку за руку, ногу за ногу.
