1For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:
1De fato, é desnecessário que eu lhes escreva a respeito do serviço aos santos,
2For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
2pois conheço a prontidão de vocês, da qual me orgulho diante dos macedônios, dizendo que a Acaia está preparada desde o ano passado. O zelo de vocês tem estimulado a muitos deles.
3Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:
3Mas enviei os irmãos para que aquilo de que nos orgulhamos a respeito de vocês não se mostre vão neste ponto e para que, como eu disse, vocês estejam preparados,
4Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
4para que, se alguns da Macedônia forem comigo e os encontrarem despreparados, nós — para não dizer vocês — não fiquemos decepcionados nessa confiança com que nos orgulhamos de vocês.
5Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
5Por isso, julguei necessário pedir aos irmãos que fossem antes até vocês e preparassem com antecedência a generosa oferta que haviam prometido, para que estivesse pronta como expressão de generosidade, e não de avareza.
6But this I say , He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
6Lembrem-se disto: aquele que semeia pouco, também colherá pouco. Aquele que semeia com fartura, também colherá com fartura.
7Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give ; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
7Cada um dê conforme determinou em seu coração, não com relutância nem por obrigação, pois Deus ama quem dá com alegria.
8And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things , may abound to every good work:
8E Deus é poderoso para lhes conceder toda graça em abundância, para que, tendo sempre em tudo toda a suficiência, vocês transbordem em toda boa obra.
9(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
9Como está escrito: “Ele distribuiu. Ele deu aos pobres. A sua justiça permanece para sempre.”
10Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
10Ora, aquele que supre a semente ao semeador e o pão para alimento também supra e multiplique a semente que vocês semeiam e aumente os frutos da justiça de vocês,
11Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
11de modo que vocês sejam enriquecidos em tudo para toda generosidade, a qual produz ações de graças a Deus por nosso intermédio.
12For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
12Pois o serviço dessa oferta não apenas supre as necessidades dos santos, mas também transborda em muitas ações de graças a Deus,
13Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men ;
13visto que, pela prova dada por esse serviço, eles glorificam a Deus pela obediência com que vocês professam o Evangelho de Cristo e pela generosidade da contribuição de vocês para com eles e para com todos,
14And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
14enquanto eles mesmos também, com súplicas em favor de vocês, anseiam por vocês por causa da extraordinária graça de Deus em vocês.
15Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
15Graças a Deus por seu dom indescritível!
