1その同じ年、ユダの王ゼデキヤの治世の初め、第四年の第五の月に、ギブオン出身の預言者で、アズルの子ハナンヤが、主の家で祭司たちとすべての民の前で私に語った。
1In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, near the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people:
2「イスラエルの神、万軍の主はこう言われる。『わたしはバビロンの王のくびきを砕いた。
2“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3二年以内に、バビロンの王ネブカドネザルがこの場所から持ち去ってバビロンへ運んだ主の家のすべての器を、わたしはこの場所に持ち帰る。
3Within two years I will restore to this place all the articles of the house of the LORD that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and carried to Babylon.
4また、ユダの王エホヤキムの子エコニヤと、バビロンへ行ったユダのすべての捕囚の民を、この場所に連れ戻す』と、主は言われる。『わたしがバビロンの王のくびきを砕くからだ。』」
4And I will restore to this place Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,’ declares the LORD, ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”
5すると預言者エレミヤは、祭司たちと、主の家に立っていたすべての民の前で、預言者ハナンヤに言った。
5Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD.
6預言者エレミヤは言った。「アーメン。主がそのようにしてくださるように。あなたが預言した言葉を主が実現し、主の家の器と捕囚となったすべての者を、バビロンからこの場所に連れ戻してくださるように。
6“Amen!” Jeremiah said. “May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied, and may He restore the articles of His house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.
7しかし今、私があなたとすべての民の耳に語るこの言葉を聞きなさい。
7Nevertheless, listen now to this message I am speaking in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.
8昔から、私やあなたより前にいた預言者たちは、多くの国々と大いなる王国に対して、戦争と災いと疫病を預言した。
8The prophets of old who preceded you and me prophesied war, disaster, and plague against many lands and great kingdoms.
9平和を預言する預言者については、その預言者の言葉が実現した時、その預言者が本当に主から遣わされたことが分かる。」
9As for the prophet who prophesies peace, only if the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the LORD has truly sent.”
10その時、預言者ハナンヤは預言者エレミヤの首からくびきの横木を外し、それを砕いた。
10Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
11ハナンヤはすべての民の前で語った。「主はこう言われる。『このように、二年以内に、わたしはバビロンの王ネブカドネザルのくびきを、すべての国々の首から外して砕く。』」そこで預言者エレミヤは立ち去った。
11And in the presence of all the people Hananiah proclaimed, “This is what the LORD says: ‘In this way, within two years I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations.’” At this, Jeremiah the prophet went on his way.
12預言者ハナンヤが預言者エレミヤの首からくびきの横木を外して砕いた後、主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ。
12But shortly after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke off his neck, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
13「行って、ハナンヤにこう言え。『主はこう言われる。「あなたは木の横木を砕いたが、その代わりに鉄の横木を作った。」
13“Go and tell Hananiah that this is what the LORD says: ‘You have broken a yoke of wood, but in its place you have fashioned a yoke of iron.’
14イスラエルの神、万軍の主はこう言われる。「わたしはこれらすべての国々の首に鉄のくびきを置き、バビロンの王ネブカドネザルに仕えさせる。彼らは彼に仕える。わたしは野の動物も彼に与えた。」』」
14For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have even given him control of the beasts of the field.’”
15その時、預言者エレミヤは預言者ハナンヤに言った。「ハナンヤよ、聞きなさい。主はあなたを遣わしていない。それなのに、あなたはこの民に偽りを信じさせている。
15Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah! The LORD did not send you, but you have persuaded this people to trust in a lie.
16それゆえ、主はこう言われる。『見よ、わたしはあなたを地の表から取り去る。あなたは今年死ぬ。主に逆らうことを語ったからだ。』」
16Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.’”
17預言者ハナンヤは、その年の第七の月に死んだ。
17And in the seventh month of that very year, the prophet Hananiah died.
