1Judah manghai Zedekiah kah ram a tongcuek, amah kum vaengkah a kum la, kum li hla nga dongah Gibeon lamkah tonghma Azzur capa Hananiah loh BOEIPA im kah khosoih rhoek neh pilnam pum kah mikhmuh ah kai m'voek tih a thui.
1In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, near the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people:
2He tah Israel Pathen caempuei BOEIPA long ni a thui, “Babylon manghai hnamkun te ka bawt pah ni.
2“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3Amah kum kah khohnin ah BOEIPA im kah hnopai boeih te he hmuen la ka mael puei ni. Te te Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar loh he hmuen lamkah a loh tih Babylon la khuen mai cakhaw.
3Within two years I will restore to this place all the articles of the house of the LORD that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and carried to Babylon.
He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Babylon manghai kah hnamkun te ka bawt bitni,” a ti.
4And I will restore to this place Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,’ declares the LORD, ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”
5Te dongah BOEIPA im kah aka pai khosoih rhoek mikhmuh neh pilnam boeih kah mikhmuh ah tonghma Jeremiah loh tonghma Hananiah te a thui pah.
5Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD.
6Te vaengah tonghma Jeremiah loh, “Amen, BOEIPA loh saii pai saeh. Na ol te BOEIPA loh han thoh saeh. BOEIPA im kah hnopai neh vangsawn boeih te Babylon lamloh he hmuen la ha mael ham ni na tonghma coeng.
6“Amen!” Jeremiah said. “May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied, and may He restore the articles of His house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.
7Tedae namah hna neh pilnam pum kah hna dongah ka thui ol he hnatun laeh.
7Nevertheless, listen now to this message I am speaking in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.
Diklai tom neh ram tanglue taengah caemtloek kawng neh, yoethae kawng neh duektahaw kawng neh tonghma uh.
8The prophets of old who preceded you and me prophesied war, disaster, and plague against many lands and great kingdoms.
9Ngaimongnah kawng neh aka tonghma, tonghma loh tonghma ol ha thoeng vaengah BOEIPA loh oltak la a tueih tonghma te a ming bitni,” a ti nah.
9As for the prophet who prophesies peace, only if the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the LORD has truly sent.”
10Te phoeiah tonghma Hananiah loh tonghma Jeremiah rhawn dong lamkah hnokohcung te a loh tih a khaem pah.
10Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
11Hananiah loh Pilnam boeih mikhmuh ah a thui tih, “He ni BOEIPA loh a thui. He tlam ni Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar kah hnamkun he namtom boeih rhawn dong lamloh a kum khohnin ah koep ka khaem eh,” a ti. Te phoeiah tonghma Jeremiah tah amah longpuei ah cet.
11And in the presence of all the people Hananiah proclaimed, “This is what the LORD says: ‘In this way, within two years I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations.’” At this, Jeremiah the prophet went on his way.
12Tonghma Hananiah loh tonghma Jeremiah rhawn dong lamkah hnokohcung te a khaem hnukah BOEIPA ol te Jeremiah taengla ha pawk.
12But shortly after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke off his neck, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
13“Cet lamtah Hananiah te thui pah. BOEIPA loh he a thui, 'Thing hnokohcung te na khaem coeng dae thi hnokohcung te yueng la na saii ni, ' a ti,” ti nah.
13“Go and tell Hananiah that this is what the LORD says: ‘You have broken a yoke of wood, but in its place you have fashioned a yoke of iron.’
14Israel Pathen caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a thui.
14For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have even given him control of the beasts of the field.’”
15Te phoeiah tonghma Jeremiah loh tonghma Hananiah te, “Hananiah hnatun laeh, nang te BOEIPA loh n'tueih moenih. Tedae nang loh pilnam he a honghi dongah na pangtung sak.
15Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah! The LORD did not send you, but you have persuaded this people to trust in a lie.
16Te dongah BOEIPA loh he ni a thui.
16Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.’”
17Te kum kah a hla rhih dongah tonghma Hananiah te duek.
17And in the seventh month of that very year, the prophet Hananiah died.
