1And the princes of the families of Galaad, the son of Machir, the son of Manasses, of the stock Of the children of Joseph, came and spoke to Moses before the princes of Israel, and said:
1约瑟 的后裔， 玛拿西 的孙子， 玛吉 的儿子 基列 ，他子孙中的诸族长来到 摩西 和作首领的 以色列 人族长面前，说：
2The Lord hath commanded thee, my lord, that thou shouldst divide the land by lot to the children of Israel, and that thou shouldst give to the daughters of Salphaad our brother the possession due to their father:
2「耶和华曾吩咐我主拈阄分地给 以色列 人为业，我主也受了耶和华的吩咐将我们兄弟 西罗非哈 的产业分给他的众女儿。
3Now if men of another tribe take them to wives, their possession will follow them, and being transferred to another tribe, will be a diminishing of our inheritance.
3她们若嫁 以色列 别 支派的人，就必将我们祖宗所遗留的产业加在她们丈夫支派的产业中。这样，我们拈阄所得的产业就要减少了。
4And so it shall come to pass, that when the jubilee, that is, the fiftieth year of remission, is come, the distribution made by the lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall pass to the others.
4到了 以色列 人的禧年，这女儿的产业就必加在她们丈夫支派的产业上。这样，我们祖宗支派的产业就减少了。」
5Moses answered the children of Israel, and said by the command of the Lord: The tribe of the children of Joseph hath spoken rightly.
5摩西 照耶和华的话吩咐 以色列 人说：「 约瑟 支派的人说得有理。
6And this is the law promulgated by the Lord touching the daughters of Salphaad: Let them marry to whom they will, only so that it be to men of their own tribe.
6论到 西罗非哈 的众女儿，耶和华这样吩咐说：她们可以随意嫁人，只是要嫁同宗支派的人。
7Lest the possession of the children of Israel be mingled from tribe to tribe. For all men shall marry wives of their own tribe and kindred:
7这样， 以色列 人的产业就不从这支派归到那支派，因为 以色列 人要各守各祖宗支派的产业。
8And all women shall take husbands of the same tribe: that the inheritance may remain in the families,
8凡在 以色列 支派中得了产业的女子必作同宗支派人的妻，好叫 以色列 人各自承受他祖宗的产业。
9And that the tribes be not mingled one with another, but remain so
9这样，他们的产业就不从这支派归到那支派，因为 以色列 支派的人要各守各的产业。」
10As they were separated by the Lord. And the daughters of Salphaad did as was commanded:
10耶和华怎样吩咐 摩西 ， 西罗非哈 的众女儿就怎样行。
11And Maala, and Thersa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Noa were married to the sons of their uncle by their father,
11西罗非哈 的女儿 玛拉 、 得撒 、 曷拉 、 密迦 、 挪阿 都嫁了他们伯叔的儿子。
12Of the family of Manasses, who was the son of Joseph: and the possession that had been allotted to them, remained in the tribe and family of their father.
12她们嫁入 约瑟 儿子、 玛拿西 子孙的族中；她们的产业仍留在同宗支派中。
13These are the commandments and judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho.
