1And the princes of the families of Galaad, the son of Machir, the son of Manasses, of the stock Of the children of Joseph, came and spoke to Moses before the princes of Israel, and said:
1Os chefes das casas paternas da família dos filhos de Gileade, filho de Maquir, filho de Manassés, das famílias dos filhos de José, aproximaram-se e falaram diante de Moisés e diante dos líderes, os chefes das casas paternas dos filhos de Israel.
2The Lord hath commanded thee, my lord, that thou shouldst divide the land by lot to the children of Israel, and that thou shouldst give to the daughters of Salphaad our brother the possession due to their father:
2Eles disseram: “O SENHOR ordenou ao meu senhor que desse a terra por herança, por sorteio, aos filhos de Israel. Meu senhor recebeu ordem do SENHOR para dar a herança de nosso irmão Zelofeade às suas filhas.
3Now if men of another tribe take them to wives, their possession will follow them, and being transferred to another tribe, will be a diminishing of our inheritance.
3Se elas se casarem com qualquer um dos filhos das outras tribos dos filhos de Israel, então a herança delas será tirada da herança de nossos pais, e será acrescentada à herança da tribo à qual elas passarem a pertencer. Assim, será tirada da porção da nossa herança.
4And so it shall come to pass, that when the jubilee, that is, the fiftieth year of remission, is come, the distribution made by the lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall pass to the others.
4Quando chegar o jubileu dos filhos de Israel, então a herança delas será acrescentada à herança da tribo à qual elas passarem a pertencer. Assim, a herança delas será tirada da herança da tribo de nossos pais.”
5Moses answered the children of Israel, and said by the command of the Lord: The tribe of the children of Joseph hath spoken rightly.
5Moisés ordenou aos filhos de Israel de acordo com a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo: “A tribo dos filhos de José fala o que é certo.
6And this is the law promulgated by the Lord touching the daughters of Salphaad: Let them marry to whom they will, only so that it be to men of their own tribe.
6Isto é o que o SENHOR ordena a respeito das filhas de Zelofeade, dizendo: ‘Que elas se casem com quem acharem melhor, contanto que se casem dentro da família da tribo de seu pai.
7Lest the possession of the children of Israel be mingled from tribe to tribe. For all men shall marry wives of their own tribe and kindred:
7Assim, nenhuma herança dos filhos de Israel passará de tribo para tribo; pois cada um dos filhos de Israel manterá a herança da tribo de seus pais.
8And all women shall take husbands of the same tribe: that the inheritance may remain in the families,
8Toda filha que possuir uma herança em qualquer tribo dos filhos de Israel se casará com alguém da família da tribo de seu pai, para que cada um dos filhos de Israel possua a herança de seus pais.
9And that the tribes be not mingled one with another, but remain so
9Assim, nenhuma herança passará de uma tribo para outra tribo; pois cada uma das tribos dos filhos de Israel manterá a sua própria herança.’”
10As they were separated by the Lord. And the daughters of Salphaad did as was commanded:
10As filhas de Zelofeade fizeram como o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés:
11And Maala, and Thersa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Noa were married to the sons of their uncle by their father,
11pois Maalá, Tirza, Hogla, Milca e Noa, as filhas de Zelofeade, casaram-se com os filhos dos irmãos de seu pai.
12Of the family of Manasses, who was the son of Joseph: and the possession that had been allotted to them, remained in the tribe and family of their father.
12Elas se casaram dentro das famílias dos filhos de Manassés, filho de José. A herança delas permaneceu na tribo da família de seu pai.
13These are the commandments and judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho.
13Estes são os mandamentos e as ordenanças que o SENHOR ordenou por meio de Moisés aos filhos de Israel nas planícies de Moabe, junto ao Jordão, na altura de Jericó.
