1亚伯拉罕 从那里向南地迁去，寄居在 加低斯 和 书珥 中间的 基拉耳 。
1Abraham removed from thence to the south country, and dwelt between Cades and Sur, and sojourned in Gerara.
2亚伯拉罕 称他的妻 撒拉 为妹子， 基拉耳 王 亚比米勒 差人把 撒拉 取了去。
2And he said of Sara his wife: She is my sister. So Abimelech the king of Gerara sent, and took her.
3但夜间， 神来，在梦中对 亚比米勒 说：「你是个死人哪！因为你取了那女人来；她原是别人的妻子。」
3And God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and he said to him: Lo thou shalt die for the woman thou hast taken: for she hath a husband.
4亚比米勒 却还没有亲近 撒拉 ；他说：「主啊，连有义的国，你也要毁灭吗？
4Now Abimelech had not touched her, and he said: Lord, wilt thou slay a nation, that is ignorant and just?
5那人岂不是自己对我说『她是我的妹子』吗？就是女人也自己说：『他是我的哥哥。』我做这事是心正手洁的。」
5Did not he say to me: She is my sister: and she say, He is my brother? in the simplicity of my heart, and cleanness of my hands have I done this.
6神在梦中对他说：「我知道你做这事是心中正直；我也拦阻了你，免得你得罪我，所以我不容你沾着她。
6And God said to him: And I know that thou didst it with a sincere heart: and therefore I withheld thee from sinning against me, and I suffered thee not to touch her.
7现在你把这人的妻子归还他；因为他是先知，他要为你祷告，使你存活。你若不归还他，你当知道，你和你所有的人都必要死。」
7Now therefore restore the man his wife, for he is a prophet: and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: but if thou wilt not restore her, know that thou shalt surely die, thou and all that are thine.
8亚比米勒 清早起来，召了众臣仆来，将这些事都说给他们听，他们都甚惧怕。
8And Abimelech forthwith rising up in the night, called all his servants: and spoke all these words in their hearing, and all the men were exceedingly afraid.
9亚比米勒 召了 亚伯拉罕 来，对他说：「你怎么向我这样行呢？我在什么事上得罪了你，你竟使我和我国里的人陷在大罪里？你向我行不当行的事了！」
9And Abimelech called also for Abraham, and said to him: What hast thou done to us? what have we offended thee in, that thou hast brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done to us what thou oughtest not to do.
10亚比米勒 又对 亚伯拉罕 说：「你见了什么才做这事呢？」
10And again he expostulated with him, and said, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this?
11亚伯拉罕 说：「我以为这地方的人总不惧怕 神，必为我妻子的缘故杀我。
11Abraham answered: I thought with myself, saying: Perhaps there is not the fear of God in this place: and they will kill me for the sake of my wife:
12况且她也实在是我的妹子；她与我是同父异母，后来作了我的妻子。
12Howbeit, otherwise also she is truly my sister, the daughter of my father, and not the daughter of my mother, and I took her to wife.
13当 神叫我离开父家、飘流在外的时候，我对她说：『我们无论走到什么地方，你可以对人说：他是我的哥哥；这就是你待我的恩典了。』」
13And after God brought me out of my father’s house, I said to her: Thou shalt do me this kindness: In every place, to which we shall come, thou shalt say that I am thy brother.
14亚比米勒 把牛、羊、仆婢赐给 亚伯拉罕 ，又把他的妻子 撒拉 归还他。
14And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and servants and handmaids, and gave to Abraham: and restored to him Sara, his wife.
15亚比米勒 又说：「看哪，我的地都在你面前，你可以随意居住」；
15And said: The land is before you, dwell wheresoever it shall please thee.
16又对 撒拉 说：「我给你哥哥一千银子，作为你在合家人面前遮羞的，你就在众人面前没有不是了。」
16And to Sara he said: Behold I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: this shall serve thee for a covering of thy eyes to all that are with thee, and whithersoever thou shalt go: and remember thou wast taken.
17亚伯拉罕 祷告 神， 神就医好了 亚比米勒 和他的妻子，并他的众女仆，她们便能生育。
17And when Abraham prayed, God healed Abimelech and his wife, and his handmaids, and they bore children:
18因耶和华为 亚伯拉罕 的妻子 撒拉 的缘故，已经使 亚比米勒 家中的妇人不能生育。
18For the Lord had closed up every womb of the house of Abimelech on account of Sara, Abraham’s wife.
