1Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned as king instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
1约西亚 的儿子 西底家 代替 约雅敬 的儿子 哥尼雅 为王，是 巴比伦 王 尼布甲尼撒 立在 犹大 地作王的。
2But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, listened to the LORD’s words, which he spoke by the prophet Jeremiah.
2但 西底家 和他的臣仆，并国中的百姓，都不听从耶和华借先知 耶利米 所说的话。
3Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Pray now to the LORD our God for us.”
3西底家 王打发 示利米雅 的儿子 犹甲 和祭司 玛西雅 的儿子 西番雅 去见先知 耶利米 ，说：「求你为我们祷告耶和华—我们的 神。」
4Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people, for they had not put him into prison.
4那时 耶利米 在民中出入，因为他们还没有把他囚在监里。
5Pharaoh’s army had come out of Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news of them, they withdrew from Jerusalem.
5法老的军队已经从 埃及 出来，那围困 耶路撒冷 的 迦勒底 人听见他们的风声，就拔营离开 耶路撒冷 去了。
6Then the LORD’s word came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
6耶和华的话临到先知 耶利米 说：
7“The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me: “Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.
7「耶和华— 以色列 的 神如此说： 犹大 王打发你们来求问我，你们要如此对他说：『那出来帮助你们法老的军队必回 埃及 本国去。
8The Chaldeans will come again, and fight against this city. They will take it and burn it with fire.”’
8迦勒底 人必再来攻打这城，并要攻取，用火焚烧。
9“The LORD says, ‘Don’t deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely depart from us;” for they will not depart.
9耶和华如此说：你们不要自欺说「 迦勒底 人必定离开我们」，因为他们必不离开。
10For though you had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and only wounded men remained among them, they would each rise up in his tent and burn this city with fire.’”
10你们即便杀败了与你们争战的 迦勒底 全军，但剩下受伤的人也必各人从帐棚里起来，用火焚烧这城。』」
11When the army of the Chaldeans had withdrawn from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh’s army,
11迦勒底 的军队因怕法老的军队，拔营离开 耶路撒冷 的时候，
12then Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to receive his portion there, in the middle of the people.
12耶利米 就杂在民中出离 耶路撒冷 ，要往 便雅悯 地去，在那里得自己的地业。
13When he was in Benjamin’s gate, a captain of the guard was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he seized Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “You are defecting to the Chaldeans!”
13他到了 便雅悯门 那里，有守门官名叫 伊利雅 ，是 哈拿尼亚 的孙子、 示利米雅 的儿子，他就拿住先知 耶利米 ，说：「你是投降 迦勒底 人哪！」
14Then Jeremiah said, “That is false! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans.” But he didn’t listen to him; so Irijah seized Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.
14耶利米 说：「你这是谎话，我并不是投降 迦勒底 人。」 伊利雅 不听他的话，就拿住他，解到首领那里。
15The princes were angry with Jeremiah, and struck him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe; for they had made that the prison.
15首领恼怒 耶利米 ，就打了他，将他囚在文士 约拿单 的房屋中，因为他们以这房屋当作监牢。
16When Jeremiah had come into the dungeon house and into the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days,
16耶利米 来到狱中，进入牢房，在那里囚了多日。
17then Zedekiah the king sent and had him brought out. The king asked him secretly in his house, “Is there any word from the LORD?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” He also said, “You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”
17西底家 王打发人提出他来，在自己的宫内私下问他说：「从耶和华有什么话临到没有？」 耶利米 说：「有！」又说：「你必交在 巴比伦 王手中。」
18Moreover Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “How have I sinned against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?
18耶利米 又对 西底家 王说：「我在什么事上得罪你，或你的臣仆，或这百姓，你竟将我囚在监里呢？
19Now where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you, nor against this land’?
19对你们预言 巴比伦 王必不来攻击你们和这地的先知，现今在哪里呢？
20Now please hear, my lord the king: please let my supplication be presented before you, that you not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.”
20主—我的王啊，求你现在垂听，准我在你面前的恳求：不要使我回到文士 约拿单 的房屋中，免得我死在那里。」
21Then Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the guard. They gave him daily a loaf of bread out of the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was gone. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.
21于是， 西底家 王下令，他们就把 耶利米 交在护卫兵的院中，每天从饼铺街取一个饼给他，直到城中的饼用尽了。这样， 耶利米 仍在护卫兵的院中。
