1พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามาหาพวกคุณ ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้มาพร้อมถ้อยคำที่เลิศหรูหรือปัญญา เพื่อประกาศคำพยานของพระเจ้าแก่พวกคุณ
1When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
2เพราะข้าพเจ้าตั้งใจว่า เมื่ออยู่ในหมู่พวกคุณ ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่รู้เรื่องใดนอกจากพระเยซูคริสต์ และเรื่องที่พระองค์ถูกตรึงกางเขน
2For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
3ข้าพเจ้าอยู่กับพวกคุณด้วยความอ่อนแอ ด้วยความกลัว และตัวสั่นอย่างมาก
3I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
4คำพูดและการประกาศของข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้ใช้ถ้อยคำโน้มน้าวที่เกิดจากปัญญาของมนุษย์ แต่แสดงให้เห็นพระวิญญาณและพลัง
4My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5เพื่อความเชื่อของพวกคุณจะไม่ตั้งอยู่บนปัญญาของมนุษย์ แต่ตั้งอยู่บนพลังของพระเจ้า
5that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6ถึงอย่างนั้น เราก็พูดเรื่องปัญญาในหมู่คนที่เติบโตเต็มที่แล้ว แต่ไม่ใช่ปัญญาของโลกนี้ หรือของผู้ปกครองโลกนี้ที่กำลังหมดไป
6We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing.
7แต่เราพูดถึงปัญญาของพระเจ้าที่เป็นความลับ คือปัญญาที่ถูกซ่อนไว้ ซึ่งพระเจ้าทรงกำหนดไว้ล่วงหน้าก่อนยุคทั้งหลาย เพื่อให้เราได้รับพระสิริ
7But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,
8ไม่มีผู้ปกครองคนใดของโลกนี้รู้จักปัญญานั้น เพราะถ้าพวกเขารู้ พวกเขาคงไม่ตรึงองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งพระสิริไว้บนกางเขน
8which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.
9แต่เป็นไปตามที่เขียนไว้ว่า “สิ่งที่ตาไม่เคยเห็น และหูไม่เคยได้ยิน สิ่งที่ไม่เคยผุดขึ้นในใจมนุษย์ คือสิ่งที่พระเจ้าทรงเตรียมไว้สำหรับคนที่รักพระองค์”
9But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”
10แต่พระเจ้าทรงเปิดเผยสิ่งเหล่านั้นแก่เราทางพระวิญญาณ เพราะพระวิญญาณทรงค้นลึกถึงทุกสิ่ง แม้แต่สิ่งลึกซึ้งของพระเจ้า
10But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11เพราะในหมู่มนุษย์ ใครจะรู้เรื่องของคนคนหนึ่งได้นอกจากจิตวิญญาณของคนนั้นซึ่งอยู่ในตัวเขา? เช่นเดียวกัน ไม่มีใครรู้เรื่องของพระเจ้านอกจากพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้า
11For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.
12เราไม่ได้รับวิญญาณของโลก แต่ได้รับพระวิญญาณที่มาจากพระเจ้า เพื่อเราจะรู้จักสิ่งต่าง ๆ ที่พระเจ้าทรงมอบให้เราโดยไม่เรียกสิ่งตอบแทน
12But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.
13เราพูดเรื่องเหล่านี้ด้วยถ้อยคำที่พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ทรงสอน ไม่ใช่ถ้อยคำที่ปัญญาของมนุษย์สอน โดยเปรียบเทียบสิ่งทางจิตวิญญาณกับสิ่งทางจิตวิญญาณ
13We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
14แต่คนที่มีเพียงธรรมชาติของมนุษย์ไม่รับสิ่งที่มาจากพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้า เพราะสำหรับเขาสิ่งเหล่านั้นเป็นเรื่องโง่เขลา และเขาไม่อาจรู้ได้ เพราะต้องวินิจฉัยในทางจิตวิญญาณ
14Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15ส่วนคนที่ดำเนินชีวิตโดยพระวิญญาณย่อมวินิจฉัยทุกสิ่ง แต่ไม่มีใครวินิจฉัยเขาได้
15But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is to be judged by no one.
16เพราะ “ใครเล่ารู้ความคิดขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า จนจะสั่งสอนพระองค์ได้?” แต่เรามีความคิดของพระคริสต์
16“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he should instruct him?” But we have Christ’s mind.
