King James Version with Apocrypha
Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
1POJON me pajon en me kadede kin kaporoporeki o kadede pan me jo janjal.
2For by it the elders obtained a good report.
2Pwe me men kaua aleer kadede parail.
3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
3Ni pojon kitail aja, me lan o jappa majan en Kot, iei me dipijou kan, me kitail kin kilan, jo wiauiki meakai me janjal.
4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
4Ni pojon Apel maironiki on Kot me mau jan Kain, ap dede kilar, me i me pun, pwe Kot kotin kupukupura a kijakij. O i me a kin padapadaki murin a melar lao lel met.
5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
5Ni pojon Enok peukadala, pwen der kilan mela, ari, a joer diarokada, pwe Kot kotin ukadala i, a mon a peukadala kadedepa mia, duen a kon on Kot.
6But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
6A ma jo pojon, jota me pan kak kon on Kot. Pwe me men tu on Kot, en pojon, me a kotin mia, o me a pan kotin katini on ir, me rapaki i.
7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
7Ni pojon Noa majakadar, ni a kauada war im, pwen kamaureda toun im a, ni a aleer majan en Kot, duen me jaikenta janjal, o i me a kadeikada jappa, o jojoki pun, me pwili jan pojon.
8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
8Ni pojon Apraam peiki on Kot, ni a paeker, en lipalan eu jap, me a pan jojoki; i ari lipalan o jota aja, waja me a pan kotila ia.
9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
9Ni pojon a wiala men wai amen nan jap en inau, o kotikot nan im likau kai, a Ijaak o Iakop, me pan pil ale jojo en inau ota, ian i,
10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
10Pwe a auiaui kanim eu, me a pajon mia, me wiauieda ren Kot.
11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
11Pil Jara keleki pojon ni a pan lijeanda, ap naitikada jeri amen, ni a li dapwan, pwe a aja, me i melel amen, me kotiki on i inau o.
12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
12I me jan me ta men, me rajon mela amen, me toto tapida jan, due uju en lan me totoia, o me rajon pik en ni oror, me jota kak wadawad.
13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them , and embraced them , and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
13Mepukat karoj matalar nin pojon o kaikenta paieki inau o, a re kilaner jan ni waja doo, ap peren kidar o kadededar, me re men kairu o men wai in jappa.
14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
14A ni ar wia due met, re kin kajaleda, me re rapaki udan jap arail.
15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
15A ma irail nonki jap o, me re ko janer, irail pan kak purelan.
16But now they desire a better country , that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
16A jo, pwe re inon ion eu jap, me mau jan jappa, me mi nanlan, I me Kot jota kotin nanlan, i me Kot jota kotin namenokki wiala arail Kot, pwe a kotin kaonop on irail er kanim eu.
17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son ,
17Ni pojon Apraam maironki Ijaak, ni a kajonejon o mueidala na ieroj, murin a aleer inau o.
18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
18Iran I a lokido: Jan Ijaak kadaudok om me pan irerok wei.
19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
19Pwe a aja, me Kot pil kotin kak kamaurada i jan ren me melar akan, I me a pil pur on naine kin i, pwen wia karajepa eu.
20By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
20Ni pojon Ijaak kapaiadan Iakop o Ejau meakan me pan wiaui.
21By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
21Ni pojon Ijaak kapaiadan nain Iojep putak riamen, ni a pan matala, o a pairukila pon a jokon.
22By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
22Ni pojon Iojep, ni a pan matala, a kokopada duen kadaudok en Ijrael ar pan lipala, o a kakalik on ir duen ti a kan.
23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
23Ni pojon Mojej, ni a ipwidier, okiokilar ren jam a in a jaunipon jilu, pwe ira kilaner, me a jeri kajelel amen, o ira jota majak en nanmwarki a kujoned.
24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
24Ni pojon Mojej lao laudala, kan inaneki nain Parao jeripein.
25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
25O a piladar en ian japwilim en Kot aramaj akan kamekam, jan peren mal en dip me motomot.
26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
26O a kajampwaleki kanamenok en Krijtuj jan kapwa en Akipten, pwe a kupukupura katinpa.
27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
27Ni pojon a lipa jan Akipten, jota lomwiki onion en nanmarki, pwe a kotin kaporoporeki, me a jota kilaner, dueta a kilan i.
28Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
28Ni pojon a wia paja o ujup en nta, pwe me pan kamela mejeni kan, ender kai on ir.
29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land : which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
29Ni pojon irail kotela jed waitata, likamata nan jap madekon, me men Akipten oko pil jon, rap mopelar.
30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
30Ni pojon kel en kanim Ieriko ronki pajan murin ar pidaki ran iju.
31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
31Ni pojon Raap, li jued amen, jota ian ir, me jopojon, kamela, pweki a popol apwali liparok kan.
32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
32O da me i en pil kajoiada? Pwe anjau me tikitik en wia kajoi duen Kideon, o Parak, o Jimjon, o Iepta, o Dawid. o Jamuel, o jaukop akan.
33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
33Duen ar kaloekidi wei kan pojon, kapwaiada lamalam pun, paieki inau kan, kaku pena au en laien,
34Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
34Kakunla kel en kijiniai, piti jan au en kodlaj, luetalar rap kelail lar, komad ni mauin, kaloedier jaunpei en wai kan.
35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
35Li akai pil aleer nair me melar akan, pwen mauredar. A akai kalokoloker o kan maiolar, pwe re men konodi maureda jan ren me melar akan me mau melel.
36And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
36Pil akai wewelokelar, o wokiwok, o pil jalidi, o lodi on nan imaten.
37They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
37Irail pakajuk, de rajaraj pajan, de kame kila kodlaj; re janjarawaru jili, likauiki kil en jip o kut, jamamalar, kaanka mekam, o apwal akan.
38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
38A men liki jota war on mepukat. Irail koko jili nan jap tan, nin nana kan, pan paip o pnr kai.
39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
39Mepukat karoj lok mau kilar ni pojon, a jota paieki inau o.
40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
40Pwe Kot kotin kaonopadan kitail me mau jan arail pai, pwe irail ender unjokalar mo atail.
