1But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
1Ngato muntali jenia ngundrana warai, ngani wata nakaldra ngaurongaurojeli jurangu wokarananto.
2For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
2Ngangau ngato jurana ngaurongauro ngankanani, worananau nganai, nulu ngana murlali ngankai, windri nulu, nina ngato ngaurongauro ngankana warai.
3And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
3Ja jenia ngato jurangu dakana paraia, ngani jurangu wokaranani, ngato wata ngaurongauro ngamalkananto tanangundru, tanangundru ngato mankina ngamalkananto; ngangau ngani jurangu pratjanandru milkila, mankina ngakani jurani pratjanaia mankina nganai.
4For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
4Ngangau ngaraia ketjaketjanali ja japa pirnali ngato jurangu milkigildi marapujeli dakana paraia, wata jura ngaurongauro pantjinanto, a‐ai, jura ninaia ngantjana ngujamananto, ninaia ngato morla pirna ngamalkai jurangu.
5But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
5Kulnujeli ngaurongauro ngankana paraia, nulu wata ngana ngaurongauro ngankana paraia, windri ngalje — ngato wata nankananto — jurana pratjana.
6Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
6Jenia matja nganai nunkangupini kanani, marapujeli jenia kalala nunkangu jinkina paraia;
7So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him , and comfort him , lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
7Jura kararindru nunkangu morla pirna kalingananto ja ngankalkananto, ninapini wata ngaurongauro pirnali julkananto.
8Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
8Jendrangundruja ngato jurana kurukurubala wapaia, jura nina ngantjananto.
9For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
9Bakana jendrangundruja ngato jenia dakana paraia, ngato talkula jurani ngujamananto, jura pratjanani pankiai kara.
10To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it , for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
10Worangu jura kalingai, nunkangu ngato kakana; bakana ngato kulnuni kalinganani, jenia ngato kalingai jurangundru Jesuni Christuni mudlani.
11Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
11Satanali ngaianina wata jedibananto; ngangau ngaiani wata ko nganai, mina nulu ngundrai.
12Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
12Ngani Troangu matja wokarana paraia Christuni ngantjani jaurandru, ja mana ngakangu pirnarina paraia Kaparani,
13I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.
13Ngani ngakangu jaolani wata ngara ngamana paraia, ngangau ngato Titus ngatata ngakani wata mankamankana paraia, a‐ai, ngani tanangundru puntina paraia, ja Macedoniaia palkana paraia.
14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
14Godani jurakokana nganaiatimai, Nulia ngaianingu milingeru kalalu ngankani jinkiai Christungu, ja nunkanaia ngujamanaia kuli ngumu ngaianingundru wondrateriai piri pratjanani.
15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
15Ngangau Christuni kuli ngumu ngaiani nganai Godani tanangu, tana tepi pantjiai, ja tanangu, tana tintateriai;
16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
16Palpani naria kuli naria, palpani tepia kuli tepia. Ja worana nunkangupini ngurunguru nganai?
17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
17Ngangau ngaiani wata marapuni jeribaka nganai, tanali Godaia jaura jedibai, a‐ai, talkundru ja Godandru Godaia mudlani ngaiani kaukaubai Christungu.
