1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Возлюбленные! не всякому духу верьте, но испытывайте духов, от Бога ли они, потому что много лжепророков появилось в мире.
2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
2Духа Божия и духа заблуждения узнавайте так: всякий дух, который исповедует Иисуса Христа, пришедшего во плоти, есть от Бога;
3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
3а всякий дух, который не исповедует Иисуса Христа, пришедшего во плоти, не есть от Бога, но это дух антихриста, о котором вы слышали, что он придет и теперь есть уже в мире.
4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
4Дети! вы от Бога и победили их; ибо Тот, Кто в вас, больше того, кто в мире.
5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
5Они от мира, потому и говорят по-мирски, и мир слушает их.
6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
6Мы от Бога; знающий Бога слушает нас; кто не от Бога, тот не слушает нас. По сему-то узнаем духа истины и духа заблуждения.
7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
7Возлюбленные! будем любить друг друга, потому что любовь от Бога, и всякий любящий рожден от Бога и знает Бога.
8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
8Кто не любит, тот не познал Бога, потому что Бог есть любовь.
9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
9Любовь Божия к нам открылась в том, что Бог послал в мир Единородного Сына Своего, чтобы мы получили жизнь через Него.
10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
10В том любовь, что не мы возлюбили Бога, но Он возлюбил нас и послал Сына Своего в умилостивление за грехи наши.
11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
11Возлюбленные! если так возлюбил нас Бог, то и мы должны любить друг друга.
12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
12Бога никто никогда не видел. Если мы любим друг друга, то Бог в нас пребывает и любовь Его совершенна есть в нас.
13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
13Что мы пребываем в Нем и Он в нас, узнаем из того, что Он дал нам от Духа Своего.
14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
14И мы видели и свидетельствуем, что Отец послал Сына Спасителем миру.
15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
15Кто исповедует, что Иисус есть Сын Божий, в том пребывает Бог, и он в Боге.
16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
16И мы познали любовь, которую имеет к нам Бог, и уверовали в нее. Бог есть любовь, и пребывающий в любви пребывает в Боге, и Бог в нем.
17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
17Любовь до того совершенства достигает в нас, что мы имеем дерзновение в день суда, потому что поступаем в мире сем, как Он.
18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
18В любви нет страха, но совершенная любовь изгоняет страх, потому что в страхе есть мучение. Боящийся несовершен в любви.
19We love him, because he first loved us.
19Будем любить Его, потому что Он прежде возлюбил нас.
20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
20Кто говорит: “я люблю Бога”, а брата своего ненавидит, тот лжец: ибо не любящий брата своего, которого видит, как может любить Бога, Которого не видит?
21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
21И мы имеем от Него такую заповедь, чтобы любящий Бога любил и брата своего.
