1Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
1و حيرام پادشاه صور، قاصدان با چوب سرو آزاد و بنايان و نجاران نزد داود فرستاده تا خانه اي براي او بسازند.
2And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
2و داود دانست که خداوند او را به پادشاهي اسرائيل استوار داشته است، زيرا که سلطنتش به خاطر قوم او اسرائيل به درجه بلند برافراشته شده بود.
3¶ And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
3و داود در اورشليم با زنان گرفت، و داود پسران و دختران ديگر توليد نمود.
4Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
4و اين است نامهاي فرزنداني که در اورشليم براي وي به هم رسيدند: شَمُّوع و شُوباب و ناتان و سُليمان،
5And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
5و یبحار و اَلِيشُوع و اَلِيفالَط،
6And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
6و نُوجَه و نافَج و يافِيع،
7And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
7و اَلِيشامَع و بَعلياداع و اَلِيفَلَط. پيروزي داود بر فلسطينيان
8¶ And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it , and went out against them.
8و چون فلسطينيان شنيدند که داود به پادشاهي تمام اسرائيل مسح شده است، پس فلسطينيان برآمدند تا داود را (براي جنگ) بطلبند؛ و چون داود شنيد، به مقابله ايشان برآمد.
9And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
9و فلسطينيان آمده، در وادي رفائيم منتشر شدند.
10And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
10و داود از خدا مسألت نموده، گفت:« آيا به مقابله فلسطينيان برآيم و آيا ايشان را به دست من تسليم خواهي نمود؟» خداوند او را گفت:« برآي وايشان را به دست تو تسليم خواهم کرد.»
11So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
11پس به بَعل فَراصِيم برآمدند و داود ايشان را در آنجا شکست داد و داود گفت:« خدا بر دشمنان من به دست من مثل رخنه آب رخنه کرده است.» بنابراين آن مکان را بَعل فَراصِيم نام نهادند.
12And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
12و خدايان خود را در آنجا ترک کردند و داود امر فرمود که آنها را به آتش بسوزانند.
13And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
13و فلسطينيان بار ديگر در آن وادي منتشر شدند.
14Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
14و داود باز از خدا سؤال نمود و خدا او را گفت:« از عقب ايشان مرو بلکه از ايشان رو گردانيده، در مقابل درختان توت به ايشان نزديک شو.
15And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
15و چون در سر درختان توت آواز قدمها بشنوي، آنگاه براي جنگ بيرون شو، زيرا خدا پيش روي تو بيرون رفته است تا لشکر فلسطينيان را مغلوب سازد.»
16David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
16پس داود بر وفق آنچه خدا اورا امر فرموده بود، عمل نمود و لشکر فلسطينيان را از جِبعُون تا جارز شکست دادند.
17And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
17و اسم داود در جميع اراضي شيوع يافت و خداوند ترس او را بر تمامي امّت ها مستولي ساخت.
