1Hear ye now what the LORD saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
1Слушајте шта говори Господ: Устани, суди се с горама, и нека чују хумови глас твој.
2Hear, O ye mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye enduring rocks, the foundations of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with His people, and He will plead with Israel.
2Слушајте, горе и тврди темељи земаљски, парбу Господњу, јер Господ има парбу с народом својим, и с Израиљем се суди.
3O My people, what have I done unto thee? And wherein have I wearied thee? Testify against Me.
3Народе мој, шта сам ти учинио? И чим сам ти досадио? Одговори ми.
4For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
4Јер те изведох из земље мисирске и искупих из куће ропске и послах пред тобом Мојсија, Арона и Марију.
5O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of the LORD.
5Народе мој, опомени се шта науми Валак цар моавски и шта му одговори Валам, син Веоров, од Ситима до Галгала шта би, да познаш правду Господњу.
6'Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before Him with burnt-offerings, with calves of a year old?
6Са чим ћу доћи пред Господа да се поклоним Богу Вишњем? Хоћу ли доћи преда Њ са жртвама паљеницама? С теоцима од године?
7Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?'
7Хоће ли Господу бити миле хиљаде овнова? Десетине хиљада потока уља? Хоћу ли дати првенца свог за преступ свој? Плод утробе своје за грех душе своје?
8It hath been told thee, O man, what is good, and what the LORD doth require of thee: only to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.
8Показао ти је, човече, шта је добро; и шта Господ иште од тебе осим да чиниш што је право и да љубиш милост и да ходиш смерно с Богом својим?
9Hark! the LORD crieth unto the city — and it is wisdom to have regard for Thy name — hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
9Глас Господњи виче граду, и ко је мудар види име твоје; слушајте прут и Оног који га је одредио.
10Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
10Није ли јоште у кући безбожниковој благо неправо? И ефа крња, гадна?
11'Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights?'
11Хоће ли ми бити чист у кога су мерила лажна и у тобоцу преварно камење?
12For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
12Јер су богатуни његови пуни неправде, и становници говоре лаж, и у устима им је језик преваран.
13Therefore I also do smite thee with a grievous wound; I do make thee desolate because of thy sins.
13Зато ћу те и ја бити да оболиш, пустошићу те за грехе твоје.
14Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy sickness shall be in thine inward parts; and thou shalt conceive, but shalt not bring forth; and whomsoever thou bringest forth will I give up to the sword.
14Ти ћеш јести, али се нећеш наситити, и падање твоје биће усред тебе; и склањаћеш, али нећеш избавити, и што избавиш предаћу мачу.
15Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not anoint thee with oil; and the vintage, but shalt not drink wine.
15Ти ћеш сејати, али нећеш жети; ти ћеш цедити маслине, али се нећеш намазати уљем, и маст, али нећеш пити вино.
16For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee an astonishment, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing; and ye shall bear the reproach of My people.
16Јер се држе уредбе Амријеве и сва дела дома Ахавовог, и ходите по саветима њиховим, да те предам у погибао, и становнике његове у подсмех, и носићете срамоту народа мог.
