1And now, this commandment is for you, O ye priests.
1И тако сада вама је ова заповест, свештеници.
2If ye will not hearken, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto My name, saith the LORD of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I curse them, because ye do not lay it to heart.
2Ако не послушате и не ставите у срце да дате славу имену мом, вели Господ над војскама, тада ћу пустити на вас проклетство и проклећу благослове ваше; и проклех их, јер не стављате у срце.
3Behold, I will rebuke the seed for your hurt, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your sacrifices; and ye shall be taken away unto it.
3Ево ја ћу вам покварити усев, и бацићу вам балегу у лице, балегу празника ваших, да вас однесе са собом.
4Know then that I have sent this commandment unto you, that My covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
4И познаћете да сам ја вама послао ову заповест да би био мој завет с Левијем, вели Господ над војскама.
5My covenant was with him of life and peace, and I gave them to him, and of fear, and he feared Me, and was afraid of My name.
5Завет мој за живот и мир беше с њим, и дадох му то за страх, јер ме се бојаше и имена се мог страшаше.
6The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and did turn many away from iniquity.
6Закон истинити беше у устима његовим, и безакоње се не нађе на уснама његовим; у миру и право иде са мном и многе одврати од безакоња.
7For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
7Јер усне свештеникове треба да чувају знање и закон да се тражи из његових уста, јер је анђео Господа над војскама.
8But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
8Али ви зађосте с пута, и учинисте те се многи спотакоше о закон, покваристе завет Левијев, вели Господ над војскама.
9Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept My ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.
9Зато и ја вас учиних презреним и поништеним у свега народа, као што се ви не држите мојих путева и у закону гледате ко је ко.
10Have we not all one father? Hath not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
10Није ли нам свима један Отац? Није ли нас један Бог створио? Зашто неверу чинимо један другом скврнећи завет отаца својих?
11Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which He loveth, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
11Јуда чини неверу, и гад се чини у Израиљу и у Јерусалиму; јер скврни Јуда светињу Господњу, коју би му ваљало љубити, женећи се кћерју туђег бога.
12May the LORD cut off to the man that doeth this, him that calleth and him that answereth out of the tents of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.
12Господ ће истребити из шатора Јаковљевих човека који чини тако, који стражи и који одговара, и који приноси принос Господу над војскама.
13And this further ye do: ye cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, insomuch that He regardeth not the offering any more, neither receiveth it with good will at your hand.
13Још и ово чините: покривате сузама олтар Господњи, плачем и уздасима; зато не гледа више на принос, нити Му је драго примити шта из ваших руку.
14Yet ye say: 'Wherefore?' Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously, though she is thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
14А ви говорите: Зашто? Зато што је Господ сведок између тебе и жене младости твоје, којој ти чиниш неверу, а она ти је другарица и жена, с којом си у вери.
15And not one hath done so who had exuberance of spirit! For what seeketh the one? a seed given of God. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
15Јер није ли учинио једно, ако и имаше још више духа? А зашто једно? Да тражи семе Божије; зато чувајте дух свој, и жени младости своје не чините неверу.
16For I hate putting away, saith the LORD, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith the LORD of hosts; therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.
16Јер Господ Бог Израиљев вели да мрзи на пуштање, јер такав покрива насиље плаштем својим, говори Господ над војскама; зато чувајте дух свој да не чините неверу.
17Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say: 'Wherein have we wearied Him?' In that ye say: 'Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delighteth in them; or where is the God of justice?'
17Досађујете Господу речима својим, и говорите: У чем Му досађујемо? У том што говорите: Ко год чини зло, по вољи је Господу, и такви су Му мили; или: Где је Бог који суди?
