1And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard thereof, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
1夏瑣 王 耶賓 聽見這事，就打發人去見 瑪頓 王 約巴 、 伸崙 王、 押煞 王，
2and to the kings that were on the north, in the hill-country and in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, and in the Lowland, and in the regions of Dor on the west,
2與北方山地、 基尼烈 南邊的 亞拉巴 高原，並西邊 多珥 山岡的諸王；
3to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
3又去見東方和西方的 迦南 人，與山地的 亞摩利 人、 赫 人、 比利洗 人、 耶布斯 人，並 黑門山 根 米斯巴 地的 希未 人。
4And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea-shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
4這些王和他們的眾軍都出來，人數多如海邊的沙，並有許多馬匹車輛。
5And all these kings met together, and they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
5這諸王會合，來到 米倫 水邊，一同安營，要與 以色列 人爭戰。
6And the LORD said unto Joshua: 'Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow at this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel; thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.'
6耶和華對 約書亞 說：「你不要因他們懼怕。明日這時，我必將他們交付 以色列 人全然殺了。你要砍斷他們馬的蹄筋，用火焚燒他們的車輛。」
7So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.
7於是 約書亞 率領一切兵丁，在 米倫 水邊突然向前攻打他們。
8And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
8耶和華將他們交在 以色列 人手裏， 以色列 人就擊殺他們，追趕他們到 西頓 大城，到 米斯利弗‧瑪音 ，直到東邊 米斯巴 的平原，將他們擊殺，沒有留下一個。
9And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him; he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
9約書亞 就照耶和華所吩咐他的去行，砍斷他們馬的蹄筋，用火焚燒他們的車輛。
10And Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
10當時， 約書亞 轉回奪了 夏瑣 ，用刀擊殺 夏瑣 王。（素來 夏瑣 在這諸國中是為首的。）
11And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed; and he burnt Hazor with fire.
11以色列 人用刀擊殺城中的人口，將他們盡行殺滅；凡有氣息的沒有留下一個。 約書亞 又用火焚燒 夏瑣 。
12And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
12約書亞 奪了這些王的一切城邑，擒獲其中的諸王，用刀擊殺他們，將他們盡行殺滅，正如耶和華僕人 摩西 所吩咐的。
13But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only — that did Joshua burn.
13至於造在山岡上的城，除了 夏瑣 以外， 以色列 人都沒有焚燒。 約書亞 只將 夏瑣 焚燒了。
14And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any that breathed.
14那些城邑所有的財物和牲畜， 以色列 人都取為自己的掠物；惟有一切人口都用刀擊殺，直到殺盡；凡有氣息的沒有留下一個。
15As the LORD commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua; and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
15耶和華怎樣吩咐他僕人 摩西 ， 摩西 就照樣吩咐 約書亞 ， 約書亞 也照樣行。凡耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的， 約書亞 沒有一件懈怠不行的。
16So Joshua took all that land, the hill-country, and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the Lowland, and the Arabah, and the hill-country of Israel, and the Lowland of the same;
16約書亞 奪了那全地，就是山地、一帶南地、 歌珊 全地、高原、 亞拉巴 、 以色列 的山地，和山下的高原。
17from the bare mountain, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon; and all their kings he took, and smote them, and put them to death.
17從上 西珥 的 哈拉山 ，直到 黑門山 下 黎巴嫩 平原的 巴力‧迦得 ，並且擒獲那些地的諸王，將他們殺死。
18Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
18約書亞 和這諸王爭戰了許多年日。
19There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon; they took all in battle.
19除了 基遍 的 希未 人之外，沒有一城與 以色列 人講和的，都是 以色列 人爭戰奪來的。
20For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that they might be utterly destroyed, that they might have no favour, but that they might be destroyed, as the LORD commanded Moses.
20因為耶和華的意思是要使他們心裏剛硬，來與 以色列 人爭戰，好叫他們盡被殺滅，不蒙憐憫，正如耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的。
21And Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
21當時 約書亞 來到，將住山地、 希伯崙 、 底璧 、 亞拿伯 、 猶大 山地、 以色列 山地所有的 亞衲 族人剪除了。 約書亞 將他們和他們的城邑盡都毀滅。
22There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
22在 以色列 人的地沒有留下一個 亞衲 族人，只在 迦薩 、 迦特 ，和 亞實突 有留下的。
23So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD spoke unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.
23這樣， 約書亞 照着耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的一切話奪了那全地，就按着 以色列 支派的宗族將地分給他們為業。於是國中太平，沒有爭戰了。
