1And it came to pass, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.
1過了一年，到列王出戰的時候， 約押 率領軍兵毀壞 亞捫 人的地，圍攻 拉巴 ； 大衛 仍住在 耶路撒冷 。 約押 攻打 拉巴 ，將城傾覆。
2And David took the crown of Malcam from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head; and he brought forth the spoil of the city, exceeding much.
2大衛 奪了 亞捫 人之王所戴的金冠冕，其上的金子重一他連得，又嵌着寶石；人將這冠冕戴在 大衛 頭上。 大衛 從城裏奪了許多財物，
3And he brought forth the people that were therein, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. And thus did David unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
3將城裏的人拉出來，放在鋸下，或鐵耙下，或 鐵 斧下， 大衛 待 亞捫 各城的居民都是如此。其後 大衛 和眾軍都回 耶路撒冷 去了。
4And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, of the sons of the giants; and they were subdued.
4後來， 以色列 人在 基色 與 非利士 人打仗。 戶沙 人 西比該 殺了偉人的一個兒子 細派 ， 非利士 人就被制伏了。
5And there was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
5又與 非利士 人打仗。 睚珥 的兒子 伊勒哈難 殺了 迦特 人 歌利亞 的兄弟 拉哈米 ；這人的槍桿粗如織布的機軸。
6And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot; and he also was born unto the giant.
6又在 迦特 打仗。那裏有一個身量高大的人，手腳都是六指，共有二十四個指頭，他也是偉人的兒子。
7And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
7這人向 以色列 人罵陣， 大衛 的哥哥 示米亞 的兒子 約拿單 就殺了他。
8These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
8這三個人是 迦特 偉人的兒子，都死在 大衛 和他僕人的手下。
