1A cungkuem dongah a tuetang om tih vaan hmuikah kongaih boeih dongah khaw a tue om.
1All things have their season, and in their times all things pass under heaven.
2Cun ham tue neh duek ham tue khaw om. Aka phung hamla phung ham tue neh haih ham tue om.
2A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
3Ngawn ham tue neh hoeih sak ham tue khaw om. Phae ham tue neh sak ham tue khaw om.
3A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to destroy, and a time to build.
4Rhah tue neh luem tue khaw om. Rhaengsae tue neh soipet tue khaw om.
4A time to weep, and a time to laugh. A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5Lungto voeih tue neh lungto calui tue khaw om. Kop tue neh a kop lamloh lakhla tue khaw om.
5A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather. A time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.
6Tlap tue neh paltham tue khaw om. Ngaithuen tue neh voeih tue khaw om.
6A time to get, and a time to lose. A time to keep, and a time to cast away.
7Phen tue neh bo tue khaw om. Duem om ham tue neh thui tue khaw om.
7A time to rend, and a time to sew. A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
8Lungnah tue neh thiinah tue om. Caemtloek tue neh rhoepnah tue om.
8A time of love, and a time of hatred. A time of war, and a time of peace.
9Anih thakthaekung lamloh mebang rhoeikhangnah lae a saii?
9What hath man more of his labour?
10Anih te phaep hamla Pathen loh hlang ca rhoek soah a paek te khaw bibi la ka hmuh.
10I have seen the trouble, which God hath given the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11A cungkuem he amah tue neh sakthen la a saii tih kumhal kah te khaw amih lungbuei ah a khueh pah. Te pawt cakhaw, a tong lamloh a bawt hil Pathen loh a saii bibi te hlang loh a hmuh moenih.
11He hath made all things good in their time, and hath delivered the world to their consideration, so that man cannot find out the work which God hath made from the beginning to the end.
12Amah hingnah dongah kohoe ham neh a then saii ham lakah amih ham a then a om moenih.
12And I have known that there was no better thing than to rejoice, and to do well in this life.
13Hlang boeih he khaw ca mai saeh lamtah o mai saeh, hnothen khaw hmu mai saeh. Te te amah kah thakthaenah cungkuem khuiah Pathen kah kutdoe ni.
13For every man that eateth and drinketh, and seeth good of his labour, this is the gift of God.
14Pathen loh a cungkuem a saii tila ka ming. Amah tah kumhal duela om. Amah soah thap ham om pawt tih anih lamkah te yueh ham khaw a om bal moenih. Te dongah a mikhmuh ah a rhih uh ham ni Pathen loh a saii.
14I have learned that all the works which God hath made, continue for ever: we cannot add any thing, nor take away from those things which God hath made that he may be feared.
15Aka om oepsoeh te khaw, aka om ham te khaw om oepsoeh coeng. Te dongah a hloem tangtae te Pathen loh a toem.
15That which hath been made, the same continueth: the things that shall be, have already been: and God restoreth that which is past.
16Laitloeknah hmuen ah halangnah hnap om tih, duengnah hmuen ah halangnah hnap a om te khomik hmuiah koep ka hmuh.
16I saw under the sun in the place of judgment wickedness, and in the place of justice iniquity.
17Ka lungbuei ah tah, “A kongaih boeih ham neh a bibi boeih ham khaw a tue a om coeng dongah, aka dueng neh halang khaw Pathen loh lai a tloek ni,” ka ti.
17And I said in my heart: God shall judge both the just and the wicked, and then shall be the time of every thing.
18Hlang ca rhoek kah dumlai dongah khaw ka lungbuei ah, “Amih te Pathen loh coelh saeh lamtah, amih bang he rhamsa ni amamih loh hmu saeh,” ka ti mai.
18I said in my heart concerning the sons of men, that God would prove them, and shew them to be like beasts.
19Hlang ca rhoek kah a hmatoeng neh rhamsa kah hmatoeng khaw hmatoeng pakhat ni. Amih ham he kah dueknah bangla ke dueknah khaw om tih a cungkuem ham hil pakhat la om. Te dongah rhamsa lakah hlang kah kumkonah a om moenih. A cungkuem he a honghi ni.
19Therefore the death of man, and of beasts is one, and the condition of them both is equal: as man dieth, so they also die: all things breathe alike, and man hath nothing more than beast: all things are subject to vanity.
20A cungkuem he hmuen pakhat la cet. A cungkuem helaipi lamloh ha thoeng. A cungkuem he laipi la mael.
20And all things go to one place: of earth they were made, and into earth they return together.
21Hlang ca rhoek kah mueihla tah a so la cet tih rhamsa mueihla tah diklai khuila a suntlak thuk khaw ulong a ming?
21Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit of the beasts descend downward?
22Te dongah a hamsum bangla a bibi dongah hlang a kohoe lakah ah a then om pawh tila ka hmuh. A hnukah aka thoeng ham te hmuh sak hamla ulong anih a khuen thai?
22And I have found that nothing is better than for a man to rejoice in his work, and that this is his portion. For who shall bring him to know the things that shall be after him?
