1ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με λέγων·
1Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, δύο γυναῖκες ἦσαν θυγατέρες μητρὸς μιᾶς
2“Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother,
3καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσαν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἐν τῇ νεότητι αὐτῶν· ἐκεῖ ἔπεσον οἱ μαστοὶ αὐτῶν, ἐκεῖ διεπαρθενεύθησαν.
3and they played in Egypt, prostituting themselves from their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their virgin bosoms caressed.
4καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν ἦν Ὀολὰ ἡ πρεσβυτέρα καὶ Ὀολιβὰ ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῆς. καὶ ἐγένοντό μοι καὶ ἔτεκον υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας, καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν· Σαμάρεια ἦν Ὀολὰ καὶ Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἦν Ὀολιβά.
4The older was named Oholah, and her sister was named Oholibah. They became Mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. As for their identities, Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
5καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσεν ἡ Ὀολὰ ἀπ' ἐμοῦ καὶ ἐπέθετο ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐραστὰς αὐτῆς, ἐπὶ τοὺς Ἀσσυρίους τοὺς ἐγγίζοντας αὐτῇ,
5Oholah prostituted herself while she was still Mine. She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians—warriors
6ἐνδεδυκότας ὑακίνθινα, ἡγουμένους καὶ στρατηγούς· νεανίσκοι καὶ ἐπίλεκτοι πάντες, ἱππεῖς ἱππαζόμενοι ἐφ' ἵππων.
6clothed in blue, governors and commanders, all desirable young men, horsemen mounted on steeds.
7καὶ ἔδωκε τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῆς ἐπ' αὐτούς· ἐπίλεκτοι υἱοὶ Ἀσσυρίων πάντες, καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας, οὓς ἐπέθετο, ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἐνθυμήμασιν αὐτοῖς ἐμιαίνετο.
7She offered sexual favors to all the elite of Assyria. She defiled herself with all the idols of those for whom she lusted.
8καὶ τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῆς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπεν, ὅτι μετ' αὐτῆς ἐκοιμῶντο ἐν νεότητι αὐτῆς, καὶ αὐτοὶ διεπαρθένευσαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐξέχεαν τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῶν ἐπ' αὐτήν.
8She did not give up the prostitution she began in Egypt, when men slept with her in her youth, caressed her virgin bosom, and poured out their lust upon her.
9διὰ τοῦτο παρέδωκα αὐτὴν εἰς χεῖρας τῶν ἐραστῶν αὐτῆς, εἰς χεῖρας υἱῶν Ἀσσυρίων, ἐφ' οὓς ἐπετίθετο.
9Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, the Assyrians for whom she lusted.
10αὐτοὶ ἀπεκάλυψαν τὴν αἰσχύνην αὐτῆς, υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας αὐτῆς ἔλαβον καὶ αὐτὴν ἐν ρομφαίᾳ ἀπέκτειναν. καὶ ἐγένετο λάλημα εἰς γυναῖκας, καὶ ἐποίησαν ἐκδικήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ εἰς τὰς θυγατέρας.
10They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and put her to the sword. Thus she became a byword among women, and they executed judgment against her.
11Καὶ εἶδεν ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῆς Ὀολιβὰ καὶ διέφθειρε τὴν ἐπίθεσιν αὐτῆς ὑπὲρ αὐτὴν καὶ τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῆς ὑπὲρ τὴν πορνείαν τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτῆς.
11Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet in her lust and prostitution she was more depraved than her sister.
12ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν Ἀσσυρίων ἐπέθετο, ἡγουμένους καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοὺς ἐγγὺς αὐτῆς ἐνδεδυκότας εὐπάρυφα, ἱππεῖς ἱππαζομένους ἐφ' ἵππων· νεανίσκοι ἐπίλεκτοι πάντες.
12She too lusted after the Assyrians—governors and commanders, warriors dressed in splendor, horsemen riding on steeds, all desirable young men.
13καὶ εἶδον ὅτι μεμίανται· ὁδὸς μία τῶν δύο.
13And I saw that she too had defiled herself; both of them had taken the same path.
14καὶ προσέθετο πρὸς τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῆς καὶ εἶδεν ἄνδρας ἐζωγραφημένους ἐπὶ τοῦ τοίχου, εἰκόνας Χαλδαίων, ἐζωγραφημένους ἐν γραφίδι,
14But Oholibah carried her prostitution even further. She saw the men portrayed on the wall, images of the Chaldeans, engraved in vermilion,
15ἐζωσμένους ποικίλματα ἐπὶ τὰς ὀσφύας αὐτῶν, καὶ τιάραι βαπταὶ ἐπὶ τῶν κεφαλῶν αὐτῶν, ὄψις τρισσὴ πάντων, ὁμοίωμα υἱῶν Χαλδαίων, γῆς πατρίδος αὐτῶν,
15wearing belts on their waists and flowing turbans on their heads; all of them looked like officers of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.
16καὶ ἐπέθετο ἐπ' αὐτοὺς τῇ ὁράσει ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῆς καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἰς γῆν Χαλδαίων.
16At the sight of them, she lusted for them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.
17καὶ ἤλθοσαν πρὸς αὐτὴν υἱοὶ Βαβυλῶνος εἰς κοίτην καταλυόντων καὶ ἐμίαινον αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ πορνείᾳ αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐμιάνθη ἐν αὐτοῖς· καὶ ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτῆς ἀπ' αὐτῶν.
17Then the Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and in their lust they defiled her. But after she had been defiled by them, she turned away in disgust.
18καί ἀπεκάλυψε τὴν πορνείαν αὐτῆς καὶ ἀπεκάλυψεν αἰσχύνην αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπ' αὐτῆς, ὃν τρόπον ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπὸ τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτῆς.
18When Oholibah openly prostituted herself and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister.
19καὶ ἐπλήθυνας τὴν πορνείαν σου τοῦ ἀναμνῆσαι ἡμέραν νεότητός σου, ἐν αἷς ἐπόρνευσας ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ,
19Yet she multiplied her promiscuity, remembering the days of her youth, when she had prostituted herself in the land of Egypt
20καὶ ἐπέθου ἐπὶ τοὺς Χαλδαίους, ὧν ὡς ὄνων αἱ σάρκες αὐτῶν καὶ αἰδοῖα ἵππων τὰ αἰδοῖα αὐτῶν.
20and lusted after their lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of stallions.
21καὶ ἐπεσκέψω τὴν ἀνομίαν νεότητός σου, ἃ ἐποίεις ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἐν τῷ καταλύματί σου, οὗ οἱ μαστοὶ νεότητός σου.
21So you revisited the indecency of your youth, when the Egyptians caressed your bosom and pressed your young breasts.
22Διὰ τοῦτο Ὀολιβά, τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω τοὺς ἐραστάς σου ἐπὶ σέ, ἀφ' ὧν ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή σου ἀπ' αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐπάξω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ σὲ κυκλόθεν,
22Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will incite your lovers against you, those from whom you turned away in disgust. And I will bring them against you from every side—
23υἱοὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πάντας τοὺς Χαλδαίους, Φακοὺδ καὶ Σουὲ καὶ Κουὲ καὶ πάντας υἱοὺς Ἀσσυρίων μετ' αὐτῶν, νεανίσκους ἐπιλέκτους, ἡγεμόνας καὶ στρατηγοὺς πάντας, τρισσοὺς καὶ ὀνομαστοὺς ἱππεύοντας ἐφ' ἵππων·
23the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, the men of Pekod, Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them—all desirable young men, governors and commanders, officers and men of renown, mounted on horses.
24καὶ πάντες ἥξουσιν ἐπὶ σὲ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ, ἅρματα καὶ τροχοὶ μετ' ὄχλου λαῶν, θυρεοὶ καὶ πέλται, καὶ βαλοῦσι φυλακὴν ἐπὶ σὲ κύκλῳ.
24They will come against you with a host of peoples, with weapons, chariots, and wagons. They will array themselves against you on every side with buckler and shield and helmet. I will delegate judgment to them, and they will punish you according to their own standards.
25καὶ δώσω πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν κρίμα, καὶ ἐκδικήσουσί σε ἐν τοῖς κρίμασιν αὐτῶν. καὶ δώσω τὸν ζῆλόν μου ἐν σοί, καὶ ποιήσουσι μετὰ σοῦ ἐν ὀργῇ θυμοῦ· μυκτῆρά σου καὶ ὦτά σου ἀφελοῦσι καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους σου ἐν ρομφαίᾳ καταβαλοῦσιν. αὐτοὶ υἱούς σου καὶ θυγατέρας σου λήψονται, καὶ τοὺς καταλοίπους σου πῦρ καταφάγεται.
25And I will set My jealous rage against you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will cut off your noses and ears, and your survivors will fall by the sword. They will seize your sons and daughters, and your remnant will be consumed by fire.
26καὶ ἐκδύσουσί σε τὸν ἱματισμόν σου καὶ λήψονται τὰ σκεύη τῆς καυχήσεώς σου.
26They will strip off your clothes and take your fine jewelry.
27καὶ ἀποστρέψω τὰς ἀσεβείας σου ἐκ σοῦ καὶ τὴν πορνείαν σου ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἄρῃς τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου ἐπ' αὐτούς, καὶ Αἰγύπτου οὐ μὴ μνησθῇς οὐκέτι.
27So I will put an end to your indecency and prostitution, which began in the land of Egypt, and you will not lift your eyes to them or remember Egypt anymore.’
28διότι τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραδίδωμί σε εἰς χεῖρας ὧν μισεῖς, ἀφ' ὧν ἀπέστη ἡ ψυχή σου ἀπ' αὐτῶν.
28For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hands of those you hate, from whom you turned away in disgust.
29καί ποιήσουσιν ἐν σοὶ ἐν μίσει καὶ λήψονται πάντας τοὺς πόνους σου καὶ τοὺς μόχθους σου, καὶ ἔσῃ γυμνὴ καὶ αἰσχύνουσα, καὶ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται αἰσχύνη πορνείας σου καὶ ἀσέβειά σου. καὶ ἡ πορνεία σου
29They will treat you with hatred, take all for which you have worked, and leave you naked and bare, so that the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your indecency and promiscuity
30ἐποίησε ταῦτά σοι ἐν τῷ ἐκπορνεῦσαί σε ὀπίσω ἐθνῶν καὶ ἐμιαίνου ἐν τοῖς ἐνθυμήμασιν αὐτῶν.
30have brought these things upon you, because you have prostituted yourself with the nations and defiled yourself with their idols.
31ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τῆς ἀδελφῆς σου ἐπορεύθης, καὶ δώσω τὸ ποτήριον αὐτῆς εἰς χεῖράς σου.
31Because you have followed the path of your sister, I will put her cup into your hand.’
32τάδε λέγει Κύριος· τὸ ποτήριον τῆς ἀδελφῆς σου πίεσαι, τὸ βαθὺ καὶ τὸ πλατύ, τὸ πλεονάζον τοῦ συντελέσαι μέθην,
32This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You will drink your sister’s cup, a cup deep and wide. It will bring scorn and derision, for it holds so much.
33καὶ ἐκλύσεως πλησθήσῃ· καὶ τὸ ποτήριον ἀφανισμοῦ, ποτήριον ἀδελφῆς σου Σαμαρείας,
33You will be filled with drunkenness and grief, with a cup of devastation and desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria.
34καὶ πίεσαι αὐτό· καὶ τὰς ἑορτὰς καὶ τὰς νουμηνίας αὐτῆς ἀποστρέψω· διότι ἐγὼ λελάληκα, λέγει Κύριος.
34You will drink it and drain it; you will dash it to pieces, and tear your breasts. For I have spoken,’ declares the Lord GOD.
35διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἀνθ' ὧν ἐπελάθου μου καὶ ἀπέρριψάς με ὀπίσω τοῦ σώματός σου, καὶ σὺ λαβὲ τὴν ἀσέβειάν σου καὶ τὴν πορνείαν σου.
35Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have forgotten Me and have cast Me behind your back, you must bear the consequences of your indecency and prostitution.’”
36Καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρός με· υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, οὐ κρινεῖς τὴν Ὀολὰν καὶ τὴν Ὀολιβάν, καὶ ἀναγγελεῖς αὐταῖς τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτῶν;
36Then the LORD said to me: “Son of man, will you pass judgment against Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.
37ὅτι ἐμοιχῶντο, καὶ αἷμα ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν· τὰ ἐνθυμήματα αὐτῶν ἐμοιχῶντο, καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν, ἃ ἐγέννησάν μοι, διήγαγον αὐτοῖς δι' ἐμπύρων.
37For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols. They have even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to Me, in the fire as food for their idols.
38ἕως καὶ ταῦτα ἐποίησάν μοι· τὰ ἅγιά μου ἐμίαινον καὶ τὰ σάββατά μου ἐβεβήλουν·
38They have also done this to Me: On that very same day, they defiled My sanctuary and profaned My Sabbaths.
39καὶ ἐν τῷ σφάζειν αὐτοὺς τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο εἰς τὰ ἅγιά μου τοῦ βεβηλοῦν αὐτά· καὶ ὅτι οὕτως ἐποίουν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου μου.
39On the very day they slaughtered their children for their idols, they entered My sanctuary to profane it. Yes, they did this inside My house.
40καὶ ὅτι τοῖς ἀνδράσι τοῖς ἐρχομένοις μακρόθεν, οἷς ἀγγέλους ἐξαπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτούς, καὶ ἅμα τῷ ἔρχεσθαι αὐτοὺς εὐθὺς ἐλούου καὶ ἐστιβίζου τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ ἐκόσμου κόσμῳ
40Furthermore, you sisters sent messengers for men who came from afar; and behold, when they arrived, you bathed for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with jewelry.
41καὶ ἐκάθου ἐπὶ κλίνης ἐστρωμένης, καὶ τράπεζα κεκοσμημένη πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ θυμίαμα καὶ τὸ ἔλαιόν μου εὐφραίνοντο ἐν αὐτοῖς.
41You sat on a couch of luxury with a table spread before it, on which you had set My incense and My oil,
42καὶ φωνὴν ἁρμονίας ἀνεκρούοντο, καὶ πρὸς ἄνδρας ἐκ πλήθους ἀνθρώπων ἥκοντας ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου, καὶ ἐδίδοσαν ψέλλια ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν καὶ στέφανον καυχήσεως ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν.
42accompanied by the sound of a carefree crowd. Drunkards were brought in from the desert along with men from the rabble, who put bracelets on your wrists and beautiful crowns on your head.
43καὶ εἶπα· οὐκ ἐν τούτοις μοιχεύουσι; καὶ ἔργα πόρνης καὶ αὐτὴ ἐξεπόρνευσε.
43Then I said of her who had grown old in adulteries: ‘Now let them use her as a prostitute, for that is all she is!’
44καὶ εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς αὐτήν, ὃν τρόπον εἰσπορεύονται πρὸς γυναῖκα πόρνην, οὕτως εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς Ὀολὰν καὶ πρὸς Ὀολιβὰν τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἀνομίαν.
44And they slept with her as with a prostitute; they slept with Oholah and Oholibah, those lewd women.
45καὶ ἄνδρες δίκαιοι αὐτοὶ καὶ ἐκδικήσουσιν αὐτὰς ἐκδικήσει μοιχαλίδος καὶ ἐκδικήσει αἵματος, ὅτι μοιχαλίδες εἰσί, καὶ αἷμα ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν.
45But righteous men will sentence them to the punishment of those who commit adultery and bloodshed, because they are adulteresses with blood on their hands.
46τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἀνάγαγε ἐπ' αὐτὰς ὄχλον καὶ δὸς ἐν αὐταῖς ταραχὴν καὶ διαρπαγὴν
46This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Bring a mob against them and consign them to terror and plunder.
47καὶ λιθοβόλησον ἐπ' αὐτὰς λίθοις ὄχλων καὶ κατακέντει αὐτὰς ἐν τοῖς ξίφεσιν αὐτῶν· υἱοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ θυγατέρας αὐτῶν ἀποκτενοῦσι καὶ τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν ἐμπρήσουσι.
47The mob will stone them and cut them down with their swords. They will kill their sons and daughters and burn down their houses.
48καὶ ἀποστρέψω ἀσέβειαν ἐκ τῆς γῆς, καὶ παιδευθήσονται πᾶσαι αἱ γυναῖκες καὶ οὐ μὴ ποιήσουσι κατὰ τὰς ἀσεβείας αὐτῶν.
48So I will put an end to indecency in the land, and all the women will be admonished not to imitate your behavior.
49καὶ δοθήσεται ἡ ἀσέβεια ὑμῶν ἐφ' ὑμᾶς, καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας τῶν ἐνθυμημάτων ὑμῶν λήψεσθε· καὶ γνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος.
49They will repay you for your indecency, and you will bear the consequences of your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’”
