1And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, in the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Casleu.
1Darius siangpahrang saning palito haih, Kislev khrah, khrah takawtto, ni palito niah Angraeng ih lok to Zekariah khaeah angzoh;
2When Sarasar, and Rogommelech, and the men that were with him, sent to the house of God, to entreat the face of the Lord:
2Bethel ih kaminawk mah Sharezer, Regeem Melek hoi angmah ih kaminawk to Angraeng hma ah lawkthuih hanah, Sithaw im ah patoeh o moe,
3To speak to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying: Must I weep in the fifth month, or must I sanctify myself as I have now done for many years?
3misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng imthung ih qaima hoi tahmaanawk khaeah, Saning pop parai ka sak o ih baktih toengah, khrah pangato naah palungset hoi buh zahhaih to ka sak o han maw? tiah lok dueng o sak.
4And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
4To naah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh,
5Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying: When you fasted, and mourned in the fifth and the seventh month for these seventy years: did you keep a fast unto me?
5prae thung ih kaminawk hoi qaimanawk boih khaeah, Khrah pangato haih hoi khrah sarihto haih naah, palungsethaih hoiah buhzahhaih to na sak o, saning qui sarihto thung na sak o ih buhzahhaih loe, kai han ih maw buh na zah o? tiah thui paeh.
6And when you did eat and drink, did you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
6Na caak o moe, na naek o naah, nangmacae han ih na ai maw na caak o moe, na naek o?
7Are not these the words which the Lord spoke by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem as yet was inhabited, and was wealthy, both itself and the cities round about it, and there were inhabitants towards the south, and in the plain?
7Kaminawk loe aloih bang ih ahmuen hoi tangtling ah khosak o, Jerusalem hoi a taeng ih vangpuinawk doeh kamong ah oh o moe, khosak hoih o naah, canghni ih tahmaanawk khaeah Angraeng mah thuih ih lok to na tahngai o ai maw? tiah lok angzoh.
8And the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, saying:
8Angraeng ih lok Zekariah khaeah angzoh,
9Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge ye true judgment, and shew ye mercy and compassion every man to his brother.
9misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah, Kahoih toeghaih to sah oh, maeto hoi maeto nuiah palungnathaih hoi amlunghaih to amtueng o sak ah:
10And oppress not the widow, and the fatherless, and the stranger, and the poor: and let not a man devise evil in his heart against his brother.
10lamhmainawk, amno ampa tawn ai kaminawk, angvinnawk hoi amtang kaminawk to pacaekthlaek o hmah: na palungthin thungah nawkamya nuiah kasae poekhaih to tawn o hmah, tiah thuih.
11But they would not hearken, and they turned away the shoulder to depart: and they stopped their ears, not to hear.
11Toe nihcae mah tahngai han koeh o ai, palaeng to hnuk bangah paqoi o moe, thaih han ai ah naa to tamuep o.
12And they made their heart as the adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts sent in his spirit by the hand of the former prophets: so a great indignation came from the Lord of hosts.
12Ue, nihcae loe palungthin thlung baktiah amtak o sak, to tih ai nahaeloe misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah angmah ih Muithla hoiah canghnii ah angmah ih tahmaanawk khaeah paek ih lok hoi thuih ih loknawk to nihcae mah tahngai o moeng tih: to pongah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng khae hoiah kanung parai palungphuihaih to angzoh.
13And it came to pass that as he spoke, and they heard not: so shall they cry, and I will not hear, saith the Lord of hosts.
13Ka kawk naah, nihcae mah tahngai o ai; to pongah nihcae mah ang kawk o naah, ka tahngai pae mak ai, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
14And I dispersed them throughout all kingdoms, which they know not: and the land was left desolate behind them, so that no man passed through or returned: and they changed the delightful land into a wilderness.
14Toe nihcae mah panoek ai ih prae kaminawk salakah nihcae to takhi kamhae hoiah kang haehsak phang. To pongah prae loe pongsut, caeh kami hoi amlaem kami doeh om ai. Nihcae mah kahoih prae to amro o sak boeh, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
