Berean Standard Bible
1To David himself, understanding. Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; save me by Your righteousness.
2Blessed is the man to whom the Lord hath not imputed sin, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
2Incline Your ear to me; come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, the stronghold of my deliverance.
3Because I was silent my bones grew old; whilst I cried out all the day long.
3For You are my rock and my fortress; lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.
4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: I am turned in my anguish, whilst the thorn is fastened.
4You free me from the net laid out for me, for You are my refuge.
5I have acknowledged my sin to thee, and my injustice I have not concealed. I said I will confess against myself my injustice to the Lord: and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.
5Into Your hands I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD, God of truth.
6For this shall every one that is holy pray to thee in a seasonable time. And yet in a flood of many waters, they shall not come nigh unto him.
6I hate those who cling to worthless idols, but in the LORD I trust.
7Thou art my refuge from the trouble which hath encompassed me: my joy, deliver me from them that surround me.
7I will be glad and rejoice in Your loving devotion, for You have seen my affliction; You have known the anguish of my soul.
8I will give thee understanding, and I will instruct thee in this way, in which thou shalt go: I will fix my eyes upon thee.
8You have not delivered me to the enemy; You have set my feet in the open.
9Do not become like the horse and the mule, who have no understanding. With bit and bridle bind fast their jaws, who come not near unto thee.
9Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes fail from sorrow, my soul and body as well.
10Many are the scourges of the sinner, but mercy shall encompass him that hopeth in the Lord.
10For my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my iniquity has drained my strength, and my bones are wasting away.
11Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye just, and glory, all ye right of heart.
11Among all my enemies I am a disgrace, and among my neighbors even more. I am dreaded by my friends— they flee when they see me on the street.
