1Rejoice not, O Israel: rejoice not as the nations do: for thou hast committed fornication against thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.
1ای اسرائیل مثل قوم‌ها شادی و وجد منمازیرا از خدای خود زنا نمودی و در همه خرمنها اجرت را دوست داشتی.
2The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the wine shall deceive them.
2خرمنها وچرخشتها ایشان را پرورش نخواهد داد و شیره در آن ضایع خواهد شد.
3They shall not dwell in the Lord’s land: Ephraim is returned to Egypt, and hath eaten unclean things among the Assyrians.
3در زمین خداوند ساکن نخواهند شد بلکه افرایم به مصر خواهد برگشت و ایشان در آشور چیزهای نجس خواهند خورد.
4They shall not offer wine to the Lord, neither shall they please him: their sacrifices shall be like the bread of mourners: all that shall eat it shall be defiled: for their bread is life for their soul, it shall not enter into the house of the Lord.
4برای خداوند شراب نخواهند ریخت و مقبول او نخواهند شد. قربانی های ایشان مثل خوراک ماتمیان خواهد بود و هرکه از آنها بخورد نجس خواهد شد، زیرا خوراک ایشان برای اشتهای ایشان است. پس آن در خانه خداوند داخل نخواهد شد.
5What will you do in the solemn day, in the day of the feast of the Lord?
5پس در ایام مواسم و در ایام عیدهای خداوند چه خواهید کرد؟
6For behold they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them together, Memphis shall bury them: nettles shall inherit their beloved silver, the bur shall be in their tabernacles.
6زیرا اینک از ترس هلاکت رفته‌اند، اما مصر ایشان را جمع خواهدکرد و موف ایشان را دفن خواهد نمود. مکانهای نفیسه نقره ایشان را خارها به تصرف خواهندگرفت و در منازل ایشان شوکها خواهد بود.
7The days of visitation are come, the days of repaying are come: know ye, O Israel, that the prophet was foolish, the spiritual man was mad, for the multitude of thy iniquity, and the multitude of thy madness.
7ایام عقوبت می‌آید. ایام مکافات می‌رسد و اسرائیل این را خواهند دانست. نبی احمق گردید و صاحب روح دیوانه شد به‌سبب کثرت گناه وفراوانی بغض تو.
8The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: the prophet is become a snare of ruin upon all his ways, madness is in the house of his God.
8افرایم از جانب خدای من دیده بان بود. دام صیاد بر تمامی طریقهای انبیاگسترده شد. در خانه خدای ایشان عداوت است.
9They have sinned deeply, as in the days of Gabaa: he will remember their iniquity, and will visit their sin.
9مثل ایام جبعه فساد را به نهایت رسانیده‌اند، پس عصیان ایشان را بیاد می‌آورد و گناه ایشان رامکافات خواهد داد.
10I found Israel like grapes in the desert, I saw their fathers like the firstfruits of the fig tree in the top thereof: but they went in to Beelphegor, and alienated themselves to that confusion, and became abominable, as those things were, which they loved.
10اسرائیل را مثل انگورها در بیابان یافتم. پدران شما را مثل نوبر انجیر در ابتدای موسمش دیدم. اما ایشان به بعل فغور رفتند و خویشتن رابرای رسوایی نذیره ساختند و مانند معشوقه خود مکروه شدند.
11As for Ephraim, their glory hath flown away like a bird from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
11جلال افرایم مثل مرغ می‌پرد. زاییدن و حامله شدن و در رحم قرارگرفتن نخواهد شد.
12And though they should bring up their children, I will make them without children among men: yea, and woe to them, when I shall depart from them.
12و اگر فرزندان را بپرورانندایشان را بی‌اولاد خواهم ساخت به حدی که انسانی نخواهد ماند. وای بر ایشان حینی که من نیز از ایشان دور شوم.
13Ephraim, as I saw, was a Tyre founded in beauty: and Ephraim shall bring out his children to the murderer.
13افرایم حینی که او رابرگزیدم مثل صور در مرتع نیکو مغروس بود، اماافرایم پسران خود را برای قاتل بیرون خواهدآورد.
14Give them, O Lord. What wilt thou give them? Give them a womb without children, and dry breasts.
14ای خداوند به ایشان بده. چه بدهی؟ رحم سقط کننده و پستانهای خشک به ایشان بده.
15All their wickedness is in Galgal, for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their devices I will cast them forth out of my house: I will love them no more, all their princes are revolters.
15تمامی شرارت ایشان در جلجال است زیراکه در آنجا از ایشان نفرت داشتم. پس ایشان را به‌سبب اعمال زشت ایشان از خانه خود خواهم راند و ایشان را دیگر دوست نخواهم داشت چونکه جمیع سروران ایشان فتنه انگیزند.
16Ephraim is struck, their root is dried up, they shall yield no fruit. And if they should have issue, I will slay the best beloved fruit of their womb.
16افرایم خشک شده است و ریشه ایشان خشک گردیده، میوه نمی آورند و اگر نیز بزایند نتایج مرغوب رحم ایشان را خواهم کشت.
17My God will cast them away, because they hearkened not to him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
17خدای من ایشان را ترک خواهد نمود چونکه او را نشنیدند، پس در میان امت‌ها آواره خواهند شد.
