1Josias was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one and thirty years in Jerusalem.

3And in the eighth year of his reign, when he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of his father David: and in the twelfth year after he began to reign, he cleansed Juda and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the idols, and the graven things.

4And they broke down before him the altars of Baalim, and demolished the idols that had been set upon them: and be cut down the groves and the graven things, and broke them in pieces: and strewed the fragments upon the graves of them that had sacrificed to them.

6And in the cities of Manasses, and of Ephraim, and of Simeon, even to Nephtali he demolished all.
6Anih mah Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon hoi Naphtali karoek to, vangpui taeng ih ahmuennawk boih to taoi hoiah takaeh o.
7And when he had destroyed the altars, and the groves, and had broken the idols in pieces, and had demolished all profane temples throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

8Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had cleansed the land, and the temple of the Lord, he sent Saphan the son of Eselias, and Maasias the governor of the city, Joha the son of Joachaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.
8Josiah siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlai tazetto naah, a prae hoi im to ciimsak pacoengah, angmah Angraeng Sithaw ih im to pakhraih hanah, Azaliah capa Shaphan hoi vangpui ukkung Maaseiah, hmuenmaenawk ih ahmin tarikkung Joahaz capa Joah to patoeh.
9And they came to Helcias the high priest: and received of him the money which had been brought into the house of the Lord, and which the Levites and porters had gathered together from Manasses, and Ephraim, and all the remnant of Israel, and from all Juda, and Benjamin, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
9Nihcae loe qaima Hilkiah khaeah caeh o moe, kaminawk mah Sithaw im ah sinh o ih phoisa, khongkha toepkung Levi acaengnawk mah, Manasseh, Ephraim hoi kanghmat Israel kaminawk boih, Judah kaminawk, Benjamin kaminawk hoi Jerusalem kaminawk khaeah kok ih phoisa to paek o.
10Which they delivered into the hands of them that were over the workmen in the house of the Lord, to repair the temple, and mend all that was weak.
10Angraeng imthung ih toksah kaminawk khaeah a paek o moe, nihcae mah Angraeng ih im pakhraih kami hoi im pathoep kaminawk hanah paek o.
11But they gave it to the artificers, and to the masons, to buy stones out of the quarries, and timber for the couplings of the building, and to rafter the houses, which the kings of Juda had destroyed.
11Judah siangpahrangnawk mah paro ih im sak haih, im pathoep haih han kangaih thingnawk, thlungnawk to qan hanah, imsahkung hoi thing aatkungnawk khaeah a paek o.
12And they did all faithfully. Now the overseers of the workmen were Jahath and Abdias of the sons of Merari, Zacharias and Mosollam of the sons of Caath, who hastened the work: all Levites skillful to play on instruments.
12Kaminawk loe oep om ah toksak o; nihcae ukkung ah Merari acaeng, Levi kami Jahath hoi Obadiah; Kohath acaeng Zekariah hoi Meshullam cae to oh o; tamoi uengh kop kalah Levi acaengnawk mah doeh toksah kaminawk to khetzawn o.
13But over them that carried burdens for divers uses, were scribes, and masters of the number of the Levites, and porters.

14Now when they carried out the money that had been brought into the temple of the Lord, Helcias the priest found the book of the law of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.
14Angraeng im thungah sinh o ih phoisa to lak o naah, Mosi khaeah paek ih Angraeng ih kaalok cabu to qaima Hilkiah mah hnuk.
15And he said to Saphan the scribe: I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord: and he delivered it to him.
15Hilkiah mah ca tarikkung Shaphan khaeah, Angraeng ih im thungah kaalok cabu ka hnuk boeh, tiah a naa. Hilkiah mah Shaphan khaeah paek.
16But he carried the book to the king, and told him, saying: Lo, all that thou hast committed to thy servants, is accomplished.
16Shaphan mah cabu to siangpahrang khaeah sinh moe, anih khaeah, Sak han na paek ih hmuennawk to na tamnanawk mah sak o boih boeh.
17They have gathered together the silver that was found in the house of the Lord: and it is given to the overseers of the artificers, and of the workmen, for divers works.
17Angraeng im ah a hnuk o ih phoisa to nawnto a suek o moe, ukkungnawk hoi toksahkungnawk khaeah pakuem o sak boeh, tiah a naa.
18Moreover Helcias the priest gave me this book. And he read it before the king.
18To pacoengah ca tarikkung Shaphan mah siangpahrang khaeah, Qaima Hilkiah mah cabu maeto ang paek, tiah a naa. Siangpahrang hmaa ah to cabu to kroek pae.
19And when he had heard the words of the law, he rent his garments:
19Siangpahrang mah kaalok cabu thung ih lok to thaih naah, angmah ih kahni to asih.
20And he commanded Helcias, and Ahicam the son of Saphan, and Abdon the son of Micha, and Saphan the scribe, and Asaa the king’s servant, saying:
20Siangpahrang mah, Hilkiah, Shaphan capa Ahikam, Mikah capa Abdon, ca tarikkung Shaphan hoi siangpahrang ih tamna Asiah khaeah,
21Go, and pray to the Lord for me, and for the remnant of Israel, and Juda, concerning all the words of this book, which is found: for the great wrath of the Lord hath fallen upon us, because our fathers have not kept the words of the Lord, to do all things that are written in this book.
21aicae ampanawk loe Angraeng ih lok tahngai o ai, hae cabu thungah tarik ih Angraeng ih lok to pazui o ai pongah, Angraeng Sithaw loe aicae nuiah paroeai palungphui tih boeh, to pongah caeh oh loe, a hnuk o ih Sithaw lok cabu kawng pongah, timaw ka sak o han, tiah kai hanah maw, Israel hoi Judah prae ih anghmat kaminawk hanah maw, Angraeng khaeah lokdueng oh, tiah a naa.
22And Helcias and they that were sent with him by the king, went to Olda the prophetess, the wife of Sellum the son of Thecuath, the son of Hasra keeper of the wardrobe: who dwelt in Jerusalem in the Second part: and they spoke to her the words above mentioned.
22Siangpahrang mah patoeh ih kaminawk loe Hasrah capa Tikvath, Tikvath capa Shallum ih zu tahmaa nongpata Huldah hoiah lok aram hanah, Hilkiah hoi nawnto caeh o; prophet nongpata ih sava loe Shallum, anih loe siangpahrang ih khukbuen khenzawnkung ahg oh (anih loe Jerusalem vangpui aluek bangah oh:) nihcae loe to prophet nongpata hoiah lok aram o.
23And she answered them: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Tell the man that sent you to me:
23Tahmaa nongpata mah nihcae khaeah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah, Nang khaeah ang patoeh o ih kaminawk khaeah, hae tiah lokthui pae ah, tiah ang naa.
24Thus saith the Lord: Behold I will bring evils upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, and all the curses that are written in this book which they read before the king of Juda.
24Angraeng mah, Khenah, hae ahmuen hoi hae hmuen ah kaom kaminawk khaeah kasae raihaih ka phaksak han; Judah siangpahrang hmaa ah kroek pae o ih cabu thungah kaom tangoenghaih doeh ka phaksak han;
25Because they have forsaken me, and have sacrificed to strange gods, to provoke me to wrath with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath shall fall upon this place, and shall not be quenched.
25nihcae loe kai ang pahnawt o moe, kalah sithawnawk khaeah hmuihoih to thlaek o; angmacae ban hoiah sak o ih hmuennawk hoiah nihcae mah kai palung ang phui o sak boeh; to pongah kadueh thai ai, palung ka phuihaih hae ahmuen ah ka kraih han, tiah a thuih.
26But as to the king of Juda that sent you to beseech the Lord, thus shall you say to him: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Because thou hast heard the words of this book,
26Angraeng khae hnik hanah nangcae patoehkung, Judah siangpahrang mah thaih ih cabu thung ih lok baktih toengah, siangpahrang khaeah Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih, tiah thui pae oh;
27And thy heart was softened. and thou hast humbled thyself in the sight of God for the things that are spoken against this place, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and reverencing my face, hast rent thy garments, and wept before me: I also have heard thee, saith the Lord.
27hae ahmuen hoi hae ahmuen ah khosah kaminawk hanah acoe paekhaih lok na thaih naah, poeknaemhaih palungthin to na tawnh moe, Sithaw hmaa ah poek pahnaemhaih hoiah na khukbuen na sih pacoengah, ka hmaa ah na qah pongah, na lok to kang tahngaih pae, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
28For now I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be brought to thy tomb in peace: and thy eyes shall not see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and the inhabitants thereof. They therefore reported to the king all that she had said.
28Khenah, vaihi nam panawk khaeah kang haksak han boeh, nang loe kamong ah taprong thungah na caeh tih; hae ahmuen hoi hae ah khosah kaminawk nuiah ka phaksak han ih kasae hmuennawk boih to na mik hoiah na hnu mak ai, tiah a naa. Nihcae mah to lok to siangpahrang khaeah sin pae o let.
29And he called together all the ancients of Juda and Jerusalem.
29To pacoengah siangpahrang mah Judah hoi Jerusalem ih kacoehtanawk boih to kawk moe,
30And went up to the house of the Lord, and all the men of Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests and the Levites, and all the people from the least to the greatest. And the king read in their hearing, in the house of the Lord, all the words of the book.

31And standing up in his tribunal, he made a covenant before the Lord to walk after him, and keep his commandments, and testimonies, and justifications with all his heart, and with all his soul, and to do the things that were written in that book which he had read.
31Siangpahrang mah Angraeng to pakrong moe, a paek ih loknawk to pazui moe, a thuih ih loknawk hoi patukhaihnawk to poekhaih palungthin boih hoi pazui pacoengah, hae cabu thungah tarik ih lokkamhaih loknawk to pazui boih han, tiah angmah ih ahmuen ah angdoet hoiah Angraeng hmaa ah lokkamhaih to a sak.
32And he adjured all that were found in Jerusalem and Benjamin to do the same: and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of the Lord the God of their fathers.
32Jerusalem vangpui hoi Benjamin prae ah kaom kaminawk boih mah, to lokkamhaih to pazui hanah thuih o. Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk loe ampanawk ih Sithaw lokkamhaih baktih toengah sak o.
33And Josias took away all the abominations out of all the countries of the children of Israel: and made all that were left in Israel, to serve the Lord their God. As long as he lived they departed not from the Lord the God of their fathers.
33Panuet thok krangnawk to Josiah mah Israel prae thung boih hoiah takhoe king; Israel prae thung ih kaminawk boih angmacae Angraeng Sithaw ih tok to a saksak. Nihcae loe hing thung angmacae ampanawk ih Angraeng Sithaw ih loklam to amkhraeng o taak ai.
