1神的仆人，耶稣基督的使徒 保罗 ，凭着 神选民的信心与敬虔真理的知识，
1Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness,
2盼望那无谎言的 神在万古之先所应许的永生，
2in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.
3到了日期，借着传扬的工夫把他的道显明了；这传扬 的责任 是按着 神—我们救主的命令交托了我。
3In His own time He has made His word evident in the proclamation entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.
4现在 写信给 提多 ，就是照着我们共信之道作我真儿子的。愿恩惠、平安从父 神和我们的救主基督耶稣归与你！
4To Titus, my true child in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
5我从前留你在 克里特 ，是要你将那没有办完的事都办整齐了，又照我所吩咐你的，在各城设立长老。
5The reason I left you in Crete was that you would set in order what was unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.
6若有无可指责的人，只作一个妇人的丈夫，儿女也是信主的，没有人告他们是放荡不服约束的， 就可以设立 。
6An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, having children who are believers and who are not open to accusation of indiscretion or insubordination.
7监督既是 神的管家，必须无可指责，不任性，不暴躁，不因酒滋事，不打人，不贪无义之财；
7As God’s steward, an overseer must be above reproach—not self-absorbed, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not greedy for money.
8乐意接待远人，好善，庄重，公平，圣洁自持；
8Instead, he must be hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.
9坚守所教真实的道理，就能将纯正的教训劝化人，又能把争辩的人驳倒了。
9He must hold firmly to the faithful word as it was taught, so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who contradict it.
10因为有许多人不服约束，说虚空话欺哄人；那奉割礼的更是这样。
10For many are rebellious and full of empty talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision,
11这些人的口总要堵住。他们因贪不义之财，将不该教导的教导人，败坏人的全家。
11who must be silenced. For the sake of dishonorable gain, they undermine entire households and teach things they should not.
12有 克里特 人中的一个本地先知说：「 克里特 人常说谎话，乃是恶兽，又馋又懒。」
12As one of their own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”
13这个见证是真的。所以，你要严严地责备他们，使他们在真道上纯全无疵，
13This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith
14不听 犹太 人荒谬的言语和离弃真道之人的诫命。
14and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who have rejected the truth.
15在洁净的人，凡物都洁净；在污秽不信的人，什么都不洁净，连心地和天良也都污秽了。
15To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
16他们说是认识 神，行事却和他相背；本是可憎恶的，是悖逆的，在各样善事上是可废弃的。
16They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.
