1耶路·巴力 就是 基甸 ，他和一切跟随的人早晨起来，在 哈律泉 旁安营。 米甸 营在他们北边的平原，靠近 摩利冈 。
1Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people who were with him, rose up early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. Midian’s camp was on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
2耶和华对 基甸 说：「跟随你的人过多，我不能将 米甸 人交在他们手中，免得 以色列 人向我夸大，说：『是我们自己的手救了我们。』
2The LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel brag against me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’
3现在你要向这些人宣告说：『凡惧怕胆怯的，可以离开 基列山 回去。』」于是有二万二千人回去，只剩下一万。
3Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.
4耶和华对 基甸 说：「人还是过多；你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指点谁说：『这人可以同你去』，他就可以同你去；我指点谁说：『这人不可同你去』，他就不可同你去。」
4The LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many people. Bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. It shall be, that those whom I tell you, ‘This shall go with you,’ shall go with you; and whoever I tell you, ‘This shall not go with you,’ shall not go.”
5基甸 就带他们下到水旁。耶和华对 基甸 说：「凡用舌头舔水，像狗舔的，要使他单站在一处；凡跪下喝水的，也要使他单站在一处。」
5So he brought down the people to the water; and the LORD said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps of the water with his tongue, like a dog laps, you shall set him by himself; likewise everyone who bows down on his knees to drink.”
6于是用手捧着舔水的有三百人，其余的都跪下喝水。
6The number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people bowed down on their knees to drink water.
7耶和华对 基甸 说：「我要用这舔水的三百人拯救你们，将 米甸 人交在你手中；其余的人都可以各归各处去。」
7The LORD said to Gideon, “I will save you by the three hundred men who lapped, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, each to his own place.”
8这三百人就带着食物和角；其余的 以色列 人， 基甸 都打发他们各归各的帐棚，只留下这三百人。 米甸 营在他下边的平原里。
8So the people took food in their hand, and their trumpets; and he sent all the rest of the men of Israel to their own tents, but retained the three hundred men; and the camp of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
9当那夜，耶和华吩咐 基甸 说：「起来，下到 米甸 营里去，因我已将他们交在你手中。
9That same night, the LORD said to him, “Arise, go down into the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.
10倘若你怕下去，就带你的仆人 普拉 下到那营里去。
10But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp.
11你必听见他们所说的，然后你就有胆量下去攻营。」于是 基甸 带着仆人 普拉 下到营旁。
11You will hear what they say; and afterward your hands will be strengthened to go down into the camp.” Then went he down with Purah his servant to the outermost part of the armed men who were in the camp.
12米甸 人、 亚玛力 人，和一切东方人都布散在平原，如同蝗虫那样多。他们的骆驼无数，多如海边的沙。
12The Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like locusts for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand which is on the seashore for multitude.
13基甸 到了，就听见一人将梦告诉同伴说：「我做了一梦，梦见一个大麦饼滚入 米甸 营中，到了帐幕，将帐幕撞倒，帐幕就翻转倾覆了。」
13When Gideon had come, behold, there was a man telling a dream to his fellow. He said, “Behold, I dreamed a dream; and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian, came to the tent, and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.”
14那同伴说：「这不是别的，乃是 以色列 人 约阿施 的儿子 基甸 的刀； 神已将 米甸 和全军都交在他的手中。」
14His fellow answered, “This is nothing other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel. God has delivered Midian into his hand, with all the army.”
15基甸 听见这梦和梦的讲解，就敬拜 神 ，回到 以色列 营中，说：「起来吧！耶和华已将 米甸 的军队交在你们手中了。」
15It was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. Then he returned into the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the LORD has delivered the army of Midian into your hand!”
16于是 基甸 将三百人分作三队，把角和空瓶交在各人手里（瓶内都藏着火把），
16He divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put into the hands of all of them trumpets and empty pitchers, with torches within the pitchers.
17吩咐他们说：「你们要看我行事：我到了营的旁边怎样行，你们也要怎样行。
17He said to them, “Watch me, and do likewise. Behold, when I come to the outermost part of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so you shall do.
18我和一切跟随我的人吹角的时候，你们也要在营的四围吹角， 喊叫 说：『耶和华和 基甸 的刀 ！』」
18When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and shout, ‘For the LORD and for Gideon!’”
19基甸 和跟随他的一百人，在三更之初才换更的时候，来到营旁，就吹角，打破手中的瓶。
19So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outermost part of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch, when they had but newly set the watch. Then they blew the trumpets and broke in pieces the pitchers that were in their hands.
20三队的人就都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿着火把，右手拿着角，喊叫说：「耶和华和 基甸 的刀！」
20The three companies blew the trumpets, broke the pitchers, and held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands with which to blow; and they shouted, “The sword of the LORD and of Gideon!”
21他们在营的四围各站各的地方；全营的人都乱窜。三百人呐喊，使他们逃跑。
21They each stood in his place around the camp, and all the army ran; and they shouted, and put them to flight.
22三百人就吹角，耶和华使全营的人用刀互相击杀，逃到 西利拉 的 伯·哈示他 ，直逃到靠近 他巴 的 亚伯·米何拉 。
22They blew the three hundred trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against his fellow and against all the army; and the army fled as far as Beth Shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.
23以色列 人就从 拿弗他利 、 亚设 ，和 玛拿西 全地聚集来追赶 米甸 人。
23The men of Israel were gathered together out of Naphtali, out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued Midian.
24基甸 打发人走遍 以法莲 山地，说：「你们下来攻击 米甸 人，争先把守 约旦河 的渡口，直到 伯·巴拉 。」于是 以法莲 的众人聚集，把守 约旦河 的渡口，直到 伯·巴拉 ，
24Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against Midian and take the waters before them as far as Beth Barah, even the Jordan!” So all the men of Ephraim were gathered together and took the waters as far as Beth Barah, even the Jordan.
25捉住了 米甸 人的两个首领：一名 俄立 ，一名 西伊伯 ；将 俄立 杀在 俄立 磐石上，将 西伊伯 杀在 西伊伯 酒榨那里；又追赶 米甸 人，将 俄立 和 西伊伯 的首级带过 约旦河 ，到 基甸 那里。
25They took the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at Oreb’s rock, and Zeeb they killed at Zeeb’s wine press, as they pursued Midian. Then they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond the Jordan.
