1神对 雅各 说：「起来！上 伯特利 去，住在那里；要在那里筑一座坛给 神，就是你逃避你哥哥 以扫 的时候向你显现的那位。」
1And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2雅各 就对他家中的人并一切与他同在的人说：「你们要除掉你们中间的外邦神，也要自洁，更换衣裳。
2Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3我们要起来，上 伯特利 去，在那里我要筑一座坛给 神，就是在我遭难的日子应允我 的祷告 、在我行的路上保佑我的那位。」
3And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4他们就把外邦人的神像和他们耳朵上的环子交给 雅各 ； 雅各 都藏在 示剑 那里的橡树底下。
4And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5他们便起行前往。 神使那周围城邑的人都甚惊惧，就不追赶 雅各 的众子了。
5And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6于是 雅各 和一切与他同在的人到了 迦南 地的 路斯 ，就是 伯特利 。
6¶ So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is , Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him.
7他在那里筑了一座坛，就给那地方起名叫 伊勒·伯特利 ；因为他逃避他哥哥的时候， 神在那里向他显现。
7And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8利百加 的奶母 底波拉 死了，就葬在 伯特利 下边橡树底下；那棵树名叫 亚伦·巴古 。
8But Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.
9雅各 从 巴旦·亚兰 回来， 神又向他显现，赐福与他，
9¶ And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.
10且对他说：「你的名原是 雅各 ，从今以后不要再叫 雅各 ，要叫 以色列 。」这样，他就改名叫 以色列 。
10And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11神又对他说：「我是全能的 神；你要生养众多，将来有一族和多国的民从你而生，又有君王从你而出。
11And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12我所赐给 亚伯拉罕 和 以撒 的地，我要赐给你与你的后裔。」
12And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13神就从那与 雅各 说话的地方升上去了。
13And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14雅各 便在那里立了一根石柱，在柱子上奠酒，浇油。
14And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15雅各 就给那地方起名叫 伯特利 。
15And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.
16他们从 伯特利 起行，离 以法他 还有一段路程， 拉结 临产甚是艰难。
16¶ And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17正在艰难的时候，收生婆对她说：「不要怕，你又要得一个儿子了。」
17And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18她将近于死，灵魂要走的时候，就给她儿子起名叫 便·俄尼 ；他父亲却给他起名叫 便雅悯 。
18And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19拉结 死了，葬在 以法他 的路旁； 以法他 就是 伯利恒 。
19And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
20雅各 在她的坟上立了一统碑，就是 拉结 的墓碑，到今日还在。
20And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.
21以色列 起行前往，在 以得台 那边支搭帐棚。
21¶ And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22以色列 住在那地的时候， 吕便 去与他父亲的妾 辟拉 同寝， 以色列 也听见了。 雅各 共有十二个儿子。
22And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it . Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23利亚 所生的是 雅各 的长子 吕便 ，还有 西缅 、 利未 、 犹大 、 以萨迦 、 西布伦 。
23The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24拉结 所生的是 约瑟 、 便雅悯 。
24The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25拉结 的使女 辟拉 所生的是 但 、 拿弗他利 。
25And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26利亚 的使女 悉帕 所生的是 迦得 、 亚设 。这是 雅各 在 巴旦·亚兰 所生的儿子。
26And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.
27雅各 来到他父亲 以撒 那里，到了 基列·亚巴 的 幔利 ，乃是 亚伯拉罕 和 以撒 寄居的地方； 基列·亚巴 就是 希伯 。
27¶ And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28以撒 共活了一百八十岁。
28And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29以撒 年纪老迈，日子满足，气绝而死，归到他列祖那里。他两个儿子 以扫 、 雅各 把他埋葬了。
29And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
