1上帝對 雅各 說：「起來！上 伯特利 去，住在那裏；要在那裏築一座壇給上帝，就是你逃避你哥哥 以掃 的時候向你顯現的那位。」
1And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2雅各 就對他家中的人並一切與他同在的人說：「你們要除掉你們中間的外邦神，也要自潔，更換衣裳。
2Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3我們要起來，上 伯特利 去，在那裏我要築一座壇給上帝，就是在我遭難的日子應允我 的禱告 、在我行的路上保佑我的那位。」
3And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4他們就把外邦人的神像和他們耳朵上的環子交給 雅各 ； 雅各 都藏在 示劍 那裏的橡樹底下。
4And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5他們便起行前往。上帝使那周圍城邑的人都甚驚懼，就不追趕 雅各 的眾子了。
5And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6於是 雅各 和一切與他同在的人到了 迦南 地的 路斯 ，就是 伯特利 。
6¶ So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is , Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him.
7他在那裏築了一座壇，就給那地方起名叫 伊勒‧伯特利 ；因為他逃避他哥哥的時候，上帝在那裏向他顯現。
7And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8利百加 的奶母 底波拉 死了，就葬在 伯特利 下邊橡樹底下；那棵樹名叫 亞倫‧巴古 。
8But Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.
9雅各 從 巴旦‧亞蘭 回來，上帝又向他顯現，賜福與他，
9¶ And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.
10且對他說：「你的名原是 雅各 ，從今以後不要再叫 雅各 ，要叫 以色列 。」這樣，他就改名叫 以色列 。
10And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11上帝又對他說：「我是全能的上帝；你要生養眾多，將來有一族和多國的民從你而生，又有君王從你而出。
11And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12我所賜給 亞伯拉罕 和 以撒 的地，我要賜給你與你的後裔。」
12And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13上帝就從那與 雅各 說話的地方升上去了。
13And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14雅各 便在那裏立了一根石柱，在柱子上奠酒，澆油。
14And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15雅各 就給那地方起名叫 伯特利 。
15And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.
16他們從 伯特利 起行，離 以法他 還有一段路程， 拉結 臨產甚是艱難。
16¶ And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17正在艱難的時候，收生婆對她說：「不要怕，你又要得一個兒子了。」
17And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18她將近於死，靈魂要走的時候，就給她兒子起名叫 便‧俄尼 ；他父親卻給他起名叫 便雅憫 。
18And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19拉結 死了，葬在 以法他 的路旁； 以法他 就是 伯利恆 。
19And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
20雅各 在她的墳上立了一統碑，就是 拉結 的墓碑，到今日還在。
20And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.
21以色列 起行前往，在 以得臺 那邊支搭帳棚。
21¶ And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22以色列 住在那地的時候， 呂便 去與他父親的妾 辟拉 同寢， 以色列 也聽見了。 雅各 共有十二個兒子。
22And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it . Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23利亞 所生的是 雅各 的長子 呂便 ，還有 西緬 、 利未 、 猶大 、 以薩迦 、 西布倫 。
23The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24拉結 所生的是 約瑟 、 便雅憫 。
24The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25拉結 的使女 辟拉 所生的是 但 、 拿弗他利 。
25And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26利亞 的使女 悉帕 所生的是 迦得 、 亞設 。這是 雅各 在 巴旦‧亞蘭 所生的兒子。
26And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.
27雅各 來到他父親 以撒 那裏，到了 基列‧亞巴 的 幔利 ，乃是 亞伯拉罕 和 以撒 寄居的地方； 基列‧亞巴 就是 希伯崙 。
27¶ And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28以撒 共活了一百八十歲。
28And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29以撒 年紀老邁，日子滿足，氣絕而死，歸到他列祖那裏。他兩個兒子 以掃 、 雅各 把他埋葬了。
29And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
