1以色列 人出 埃及 地以后，满了三个月的那一天，就来到 西奈 的旷野。
1In the third month of the departure of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day they came into the wilderness of Sinai:
2他们离了 利非订 ，来到 西奈 的旷野，就在那里的山下安营。
2For departing out of Raphidim, and coming to the desert of Sinai, they camped in the same place, and there Israel pitched their tents over against the mountain.
3摩西 到 神那里，耶和华从山上呼唤他说：「你要这样告诉 雅各 家，晓谕 以色列 人说：
3And Moses went up to God: and the Lord called unto him from the mountain, and said: Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4『我向 埃及 人所行的事，你们都看见了，且看见我如鹰将你们背在翅膀上，带来归我。
4You have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, how I have carried you upon the wings of eagles, and have taken you to myself.
5如今你们若实在听从我的话，遵守我的约，就要在万民中作属我的子民，因为全地都是我的。
5If therefore you will hear my voice, and keep my covenant, you shall be my peculiar possession above all people: for all the earth is mine.
6你们要归我作祭司的国度，为圣洁的国民。』这些话你要告诉 以色列 人。」
6And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation. Those are the words thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.
7摩西 去召了民间的长老来，将耶和华所吩咐他的话都在他们面前陈明。
7Moses came, and calling together the elders of the people, he declared all the words which the Lord had commanded.
8百姓都同声回答说：「凡耶和华所说的，我们都要遵行。」 摩西 就将百姓的话回复耶和华。
8And all the people answered together: All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do. And when Moses had related the people’s words to the Lord,
9耶和华对 摩西 说：「我要在密云中临到你那里，叫百姓在我与你说话的时候可以听见，也可以永远信你了。」于是， 摩西 将百姓的话奏告耶和华。
9The Lord said to him: Lo, now will I come to thee in the darkness of a cloud, that the people may hear me speaking to thee, and may believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
10耶和华又对 摩西 说：「你往百姓那里去，叫他们今天明天自洁，又叫他们洗衣服。
10And he said to him: Go to the people, and sanctify them today, and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments.
11到第三天要预备好了，因为第三天耶和华要在众百姓眼前降临在 西奈山 上。
11And let them be ready against the third day: for on the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
12你要在山的四围给百姓定界限，说：『你们当谨慎，不可上山去，也不可摸山的边界；凡摸这山的，必要治死他。
12And thou shalt appoint certain limits to the people round about, and thou shalt say to them: Take heed you go not up into the mount, and that ye touch not the borders thereof: every one that toucheth the mount dying he shall die.
13不可用手摸他，必用石头打死，或用 箭 射透；无论是人是牲畜，都不得活。到角声拖长的时候，他们才可到山根来。』」
13No hands shall touch him, but he shall be stoned to death, or shall be shot through with arrows: whether it be beast, or man, he shall not live. When the trumpet shall begin to sound, then let them go up into the mount.
14摩西 下山往百姓那里去，叫他们自洁，他们就洗衣服。
14And Moses came down from the mount to the people, and sanctified them. And when they had washed their garments,
15他对百姓说：「到第三天要预备好了。不可亲近女人。」
15He said to them: Be ready against the third day, and come not near your wives.
16到了第三天早晨，在山上有雷轰、闪电，和密云，并且角声甚大，营中的百姓尽都发颤。
16And now the third day was come, and the morning appeared: and behold thunders began to be heard, and lightning to flash, and a very thick cloud to cover the mount, and the noise of the trumpet sounded exceeding loud, and the people that was in the camp, feared.
17摩西 率领百姓出营迎接 神，都站在山下。
17And when Moses had brought them forth to meet God from the place of the camp, they stood at the bottom of the mount.
18西奈 全山冒烟，因为耶和华在火中降于山上。山的烟气上腾，如烧窑一般，遍山大大地震动。
18And all mount Sinai was on a smoke: because the Lord was come down upon it in fire, and the smoke arose from it as out of a furnace: and all the mount was terrible.
19角声渐渐地高而又高， 摩西 就说话， 神有声音答应他。
19And the sound of the trumpet grew by degrees louder and louder, and was drawn out to a greater length: Moses spoke, and God answered him.
20耶和华降临在 西奈山 顶上，耶和华召 摩西 上山顶， 摩西 就上去。
20And the Lord came down upon mount Sinai, in the very top of the mount, and he called Moses unto the top thereof. And when he was gone up thither,
21耶和华对 摩西 说：「你下去嘱咐百姓，不可闯过来到我面前观看，恐怕他们有多人死亡；
21He said unto him: Go down, and charge the people: lest they should have a mind to pass the limits to see the Lord, and a very great multitude of them should perish.
22又叫亲近我的祭司自洁，恐怕我忽然出来 击杀 他们。」
22The priests also that come to the Lord, let them be sanctified, lest he strike them.
23摩西 对耶和华说：「百姓不能上 西奈山 ，因为你已经嘱咐我们说：『要在山的四围定界限，叫山成圣。』」
23And Moses said to the Lord: The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou did charge, and command, saying: Set limits about the mount, and sanctify it.
24耶和华对他说：「下去吧，你要和 亚伦 一同上来；只是祭司和百姓不可闯过来上到我面前，恐怕我忽然出来 击杀 他们。」
24And the Lord said to him: Go, get thee down: and thou shalt come up, thou and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people pass the limits, nor come up to the Lord, lest he kill them.
25于是 摩西 下到百姓那里告诉他们。
25And Moses went down to the people and told them all.
