1Angraeng ih lok kai khaeah angzoh,
1And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2kami capa, a sak ih panuet thok hmuennawk to Jerusalem han panoeksak ah,
2Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations.
3Angraeng Sithaw mah Jerusalem khaeah, Na tacawthaih hoi na tapenhaih loe Kanaan prae ah oh; nam pa loe Amor kami ah oh moe, nam no loe Hit tanuh ah oh.
3And thou shalt say: Thus saith the Lord God to Jerusalem: Thy root, and thy nativity is of the land of Chanaan, thy father was an Amorrhite, and thy mother a Cethite.
4Na tapenhaih niah na lelung qui aat ai, na thoeng hanah tui nam hluh ai, paloi tui hoiah tui amhlu ai moe, kahni hoi doeh ayaw ai.
4And when thou wast born, in the day of thy nativity thy navel wits not cut, neither wast thou washed with water for thy health, nor salted with salt, nor swaddled with clouts.
5Tahmenhaih palungthin hoi to tiah sak hanah, mi mah doeh tahhmenhaih hoiah nang to khen ai; na tapenhaih niah nang loe panuet thok kami ni tih pongah, taw ah ang vah o sut.
5No eye had pity on thee to do any of these things for thee, out of compassion to thee: but thou wast cast out upon the face of the earth in the abjection of thy soul, in the day that thou wast born.
6Nang khaeah kang zoh naah, athii nang nok puk, athii ahnai hoiah na oh naah, kai mah nang khaeah, Hing ah, Ue, athii ahnai hoi na oh naah, Hing ah, tiah kang naa.
6And passing by thee, I saw that thou wast trodden under foot in thy own blood. and I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood: Live: I have said to thee: Live in thy blood.
7I caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field: and thou didst increase and grow great, and advancedst, and camest to woman’s ornament: thy breasts were fashioned, and thy hair grew: and thou wast naked, and full of confusion.
8Nang khaeah kang zoh moe, kang khet naah, khenah, nang loe palung han koi atue to phak boeh pongah, kahni to ka lak moe, bangkrai ah na ohhaih to kang khuk pae; ue, nang khaeah lokkamhaih ka sak moe, nang hoi lokmaihaih ka sak pacoengah, nang loe kai ih hmuen ah na oh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
8And I passed by thee, and saw thee: and behold thy time was the time of lovers: and I spread my garment over thee, and covered thy ignominy. And I swore to thee, and I entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God: and thou becamest mine.
9Tui hoi kang pasaeh, ue, nang ih athii ahnainawk to kahoih ah kang pasaeh pacoengah, situi kang nok.
9And I washed thee with water, and cleansed away thy blood from thee: and I anointed thee with oil.
10A aem kaom khukbuen hoiah kang pathoep moe, moihin khokpanai to kang buensak; puu ngan khukbuen hoiah kang pathoep moe, atho kana khukbuen to kang khuksak.
10And I clothed thee with embroidery, and shed thee with violet coloured shoes: and I girded thee about with fine linen, and clothed thee with fine garments.
11Atho kana khukbuen, aoih ih hmuennawk hoiah kang pathoep; na ban ah bantuek kang buensak moe, tahnong ah bungmu kang oihsak.
11I decked thee also with ornaments, and put bracelets on thy hands, and a chain about thy neck.
12Atho kaom thlung to na lupataeh ah kang zaengsak, naa tangkraeng to kang buensak moe, na lu ah sui lumuek kang mueksak.
12And I put a jewel upon thy forehead and earrings in thy ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.
13To tiah sui hoi sumkanglung hoiah kang pathoep; nang loe puu ngan, atho kana khukbuen hoi aem kaom khukbuen to nang khuk; takaw kahoih, khoitui hoi situi to na caak: na krang hoih parai pongah, siangpahrang zu ah na oh.
13And thou wast adorned with gold, and silver, and wast clothed with fine linen, and embroidered work, and many colours: thou didst eat fine hour, and honey, and oil, and wast made exceeding beautiful: and wast advanced to be a queen.
14Na tungkrang hoih pongah, na krang hoihaih to Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk salakah amthang phaeng; kang paek ih hoihaih mah ni na krang to ang hoihsak, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
14And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty: for thou wast perfect through my beauty, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.
15Toe na krang hoihaih to na oep moe, na hmin amthanghaih to tangzat zaw kami ah nang coengsak ving; tamquta hoi kholong caeh kaminawk hoiah zaehaih na sak pongah, na krang hoihaih loe nongpa boih han ni oh ving boeh.
15But trusting in thy beauty, thou playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and thou hast prostituted thyself to every passenger, to be his.
16Khukbuennawk to na lak moe, hmuensangnawk to rong congca hoiah na pathoep, to ahmuen ah kaom vai ai hmuen, hmabang ah doeh kaom han ai ih hmuen, zaehaih to tamquta hoiah na sak.
16And taking of thy garments thou hast made thee high places sewed together on each side: and hast played the harlot upon them, as hath not been done before, nor shall be hereafter.
17Kang paek ih khukbuen kahoih, sui hoi sumkanglung to na sinh moe, nangmah hanah nongpa ih krang to na sak pacoengah, to krangnawk to na zae haih.
17And thou tookest thy beautiful vessels, of my gold, and my silver, which I gave thee, and thou madest thee images of men, and hast committed fornication with them.
18Aem kaom khukbuen to na lak moe, nihcae to na khuk; kai ih situi hoi hmuihoih to na lak moe, nihcae hmaa ah na tathlang pae.
18And thou tookest thy garments of divers colours, and coveredst them: and settest my oil and my sweet incense before them.
19Kang paek moe, kang pacah ih takaw kahoih, situi hoi khoitui doeh nihcae hmaa ah hmuihoih ah na tathlang pae; to tiah oh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
19And my bread which I gave thee, the fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast set before them for a sweet odour; and it was done, saith the Lord God.
20To khue ai vop kai hoiah sak ih, na capa hoi na canunawk to na lak moe, krangnawk mah caak hanah angbawnhaih ah na paek. Hae tiah tangzat na zawhhaih loe hmuen tetta ah maw oh?
20And thou hast taken thy sons, and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne to me: and best sacrificed the same to them to be devoured. Is thy fornication small?
21Ka caanawk to na hum moe, krangnawk khaeah hmai angbawnhaih sak hanah na paek.
21Thou hast sacrificed and given my children to them, consecrating them by fire.
22Nawkta nathuem ah loe khukbuen tawn ai bangkrai ah na oh, athii ahnai hoi khosakhaih to na poek ai ah, panuet thok hmuennawk hoi tangzat zawhhaih to na sak.
22And after all thy abominations, and fornications, thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked, and full of confusion, trodden under foot in thy own blood.
23Nang loe khosak bing! Khosak bing! tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih, na poeksethaih hmuennawk boih pacoengah,
23And it came to pass after all thy wickedness (woe, woe to thee, saith the Lord God)
24nang mah hanah tangzat zawhhaih im to na sak moe, loklam kruekah hmuensang to na sak.
24That thou didst also build thee a common stew, and madest thee a brothel house in every street.
25Lamkrung boih ah hmuensang to na sak, na kranghoihaih to panuet thok ah na sak; kholong caeh kaminawk boih khaeah na phaih to na takaat moe, tamquta hoi zae sakhaih to na pungsak.
25At every head of the way thou hast set up a sign of thy prostitution: and hast made thy beauty to be abominable: and hast prostituted thyself to every one that passed by, and hast multiplied thy fornications.
26Long taksa bangah kalen, na taengah kaom Izip kaminawk khaeah doeh tangzat to na zawh, kai palungphuisak hanah tangzat zawhhaih na pungsak.
26And thou hast committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, men of large bodies, and hast multiplied thy fornications to provoke me.
27To pongah khenah, na nuiah misa angcoenghaih ban ka phok moe, na caak ih hmuen to kang pakha pae moe, nang hnuma kami, taksa koehhaih bangah azat panoek thai ai Philistin canunawk khaeah kang paek han.
27Behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will take away thy justification: and I will deliver thee up to the will of the daughters of the Philistines that hate thee, that are ashamed of thy wicked way.
28Na taksa koehhaih bangah palung khuek tih ai vop pongah, Assyria kaminawk khaeah doeh tangzat na zawh bae vop, ue, nihcae hoi doeh zaehaih to na sak, toe palung khuek na tih ai.
28Thou hast also committed fornication with the Assyrians, because thou wast not yet satisfied: and after thou hadst played the harlot with them, even so thou wast not contented.
29To pacoengah na taksa koehhaih to sang aep aep pongah, Kanaan hoi Khaldian prae karoek to tangzat na zawh; toe palung khuek na tih ai vop.
29Thou hast also multiplied thy fornications in the land of Chanaan with the Chaldeans: and neither so wast then satisfied.
30Tuinuen kasae tangzat zaw nongpata mah sak ih hae hmuennawk hae na sak boih pongah, na palung kawkruk maw thazok boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih;
30Wherein shall I cleanse thy heart, saith the Lord God: seeing thou dost all these the works of a shameless prostitute?
31loklam kruekah tangzat zawhhaih im to na sak, lamkrung kruekah hmuensang to na sak; atho na la ai pongah, tangzat zaw kami hoi nang hmong ai;
31Because thou hast built thy brothel house at the head of every way, and thou hast made thy high place in every street: and wast not as a harlot that by disdain enhanceth her price,
32toe nang loe a sava nuiah zaehaih sak koeh imthong krah nongpata baktiah ni na oh, to nongpata loe a sava pongah minawk kalah nongpa to koeh kue.
32But as an adulteress, that bringeth in strangers over her husband.
33Tangzat zaw kaminawk loe atho hnuk o, toe nang loe na koeh ih kaminawk boih hanah tangqum ah nang paek lat, ahmuen kruek ih kaminawk to angzoh o, zaehaih sak hanah nihcae to na kawk.
33Gifts are given to all harlots: but thou hast given hire to all thy lovers, and thou hast given them gifts to come to thee from every side, to commit fornication with thee.
34And it hath happened in thee contrary to the custom of women in thy fornications, and after thee there shall be no such fornication: for in that thou gavest rewards, and didst not take rewards, the contrary hath been done in thee.
35To pongah, Aw tangzat zaw kami, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai ah!
35Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord.
36Angraeng Sithaw mah, Panuet thok hmuen to sak hanah na koeh ih kaminawk, panuet thok krangnawk hoiah zaehaih na sak pongah, bangkrai ah na ohhaih to nam tuengsak boeh, nihcae han na paek ih na caanawk ih athii pongah,
36Thus saith the Lord God: Because thy money hath been poured out, and thy shame discovered through thy fornications with thy lovers, and with the idols of thy abominations, by the blood of thy children whom thou gavest them:
37khenah, kanawm na caenghaih, na palung duek ih kaminawk hoi nang hnuma kaminawk to nawnto ka pakueng boih han; na misa ah angcoengsak hanah na taeng ih kaminawk to ka tacuu boih han, nihcae mah hnuk o hanah na khukbuen to kang khringh pae han, to naah nihcae mah bangkrai ah na ohhaih to hnu o tih, tiah thuih.
37Behold, I will gather together all thy lovers with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all whom thou hast loved, with all whom thou hast hated: and I will gather them together against thee on every side, and will discover thy shame in their sight, and they shall see all thy nakedness.
38Sava nuiah zaehaih sak moe, athii longsak nongpata baktiah lok kang caek han; uthaih hoi palungphui athii longhaih atho to kang paek han.
38And I will judge thee as adulteresses, and they that shed blood are judged: and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
39To pacoengah nihcae ban ah kang paek han, to naah nihcae mah tangzat na zawhhaih im to na va pae o phaeng ueloe, na hmuensang to na phrae pae o boih tih; khukbuennawk na khring pae o ueloe, atho kana bungmunawk ang lomh pae o pacoengah, nang to tidoeh tawn ai bangkrai ah na prawt o sut tih.
39And I will deliver thee into their hands, and they shall destroy thy brothel house, and throw down thy stews: and they shall strip thee of thy garments, and shall take away the vessels of thy beauty: and leave thee naked, and full of disgrace.
40Nang tuk hanah pop parai kami angzo o haih ueloe, nang to thlung hoi ang vah o pacoengah, sumsen hoiah na thun o tih.
40And they shall bring upon thee a multitude, and they shall stone thee with stones, and shall slay thee with their swords.
41Na imnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek o ueloe, pop parai nongpatanawk mikhnuk ah lok na caek o tih; to naah tangzat na zawh let han ai ah kang sak han, to naah loe nang mah minawk kalah na tlai mak ai boeh.
41And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and shall execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and thou shalt cease from fornication, and shalt give no hire any more.
42To naah loe na nuiah palung ka phuihaih to dii tih boeh; uthaih hoi palung ka phuihaih na nuiah ka suem mak ai boeh; palung ka phui mak ai, kang hngai duem han boeh.
42And my indignation shall rest in thee: and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will cease and be angry no more.
43Nawkta nathuem ih aninawk to pahnet moe, hae baktih hmuennawk hoi palung nang phui o sak pongah, khenah, na toksakhaih baktih toengah na lu nuiah ka kraksak han, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih; hae panuet thok hmuennawk boih nuiah kahoih ai zaehaih na sak aep han om ai.
43Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast provoked me in all these things: wherefore I also have turned thy ways upon thy head, saith the Lord God, and I have not done according to thy wicked deeds in all thy abominations.
44Khenah, palungha lok thui kaminawk boih mah, nang pongah a canu loe amno baktiah oh, tiah hae palungha lok hae thui o tih.
44Behold every one that useth a common proverb, shall use this against thee, saying: As the mother was, so also is her daughter.
45Nang loe a sava hoi a caanawk panuet nam no ih canu ah na oh; a sava hoi a caanawk panuet, nongpata ih amnawk nongpata ah na oh; nam no loe Hit tanu ah oh moe, nam pa loe Amor acaeng ah oh.
45Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that cast off her husband, and her children: and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who cast off their husbands, and their children: your mother was a Cethite, and your father an Amorrhite.
46Nam ya nongpata kacoeh loe Samaria kami ah oh, anih hoi a canunawk loe na ohhaih bangqoi bangah oh o; na bantang bangah kaom nam nawk nongpata hoi a canunawk loe Sodom to ni.
46And thy elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister that dwelleth at thy right hand is Sodom, and her daughters.
47Nang loe nihcae caehhaih loklam ah na caeh ai, a sak o ih panuet thok hmuennawk doeh na sah ai; toe to hmuennawk loe tidoeh na ai tetta hmuen ni tiah na poek pongah, nang loe na toksakhaih boih ah nihcae pongah na set kue.
47But neither hast thou walked in their ways, nor hast thou done a little less than they according to their wickednesses: thou hast done almost more wicked things than they in all thy ways.
48Kai ka hing baktiah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom hoi a canunawk loe, nang mah na canunawk hoi nawnto sak ih hmuen baktiah sah o ai vop.
48As I live, saith the Lord God, thy sister Sodom herself, and her daughters, have not done as thou hast done, and thy daughters.
49Khenah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom zaehaih loe hae tiah oh, anih hoi a canunawk loe amoek o, kamtlai hmoek ah a caak o moe, khosak nawmhaih hoiah a oh o; amtang kaminawk hoi kavawt kaminawk to khenzawn o ai.
49Behold this was the iniquity of Sodom thy sister, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance, and the idleness of her, and of her daughters: and they did not put forth their hand to the needy, and to the poor.
50Nihcae loe poeksang o moe, ka hmaa ah panuet thok hmuen to sak o; to pongah na hnuk ih baktih toengah nihcae to kam rosak boeh.
50And they were lifted up, and committed abominations before me: and I took them away as thou hast seen.
51Samaria loe na sak ih zaehaih ahap mataeng doeh sah ai; toe nang loe Sodom hoi Samaria hnik pong alet ah panuet thok zaehaih to na sak, nam nawk nongpata hnik mah sak ih zaehaih loe na sak ih panuet thok zaehaihnawk mah khuk khoep pongah amtueng ai boeh.
51And Samaria committed not half thy sins: but thou hast surpassed them with thy crimes, and hast justified thy sisters by all thy abominations which thou hast done.
52Nam nawk nongpata hnik to lok na caek baktih toengah, na sak ih panuet thok zaehaihnawk loe nihnik mah sak ih zaehaih pong nung kue pongah, azathaih to phaw ah; nihnik loe nang pongah toeng hoi kue; ue, nam nawk nongpata hnik mah sak ih zaehaihnawk amtueng ai karoek to zaehaih na sak pongah, palung boenghaih hoiah azathaih to na phawh han oh.
52Therefore do thou also bear thy confusion, thou that hast surpassed thy sisters with thy sins, doing more wickedly than they: for they are justified above thee, therefore be thou also confounded, and bear thy shame, thou that hast justified thy sisters.
53Toe tamna ah naeh ih Sodom hoi a canunawk, Samaria hoi a canunawk to ka hoih naah, na tamnawk to nihcae hoi nawnto ka hoih let han:
53And I will bring back and restore them by bringing back Sodom, with her daughters, and by bringing back Samaria, and her daughters: and I will bring those that return of thee in the midst of them.
54to naah nihcae to na mongsak ueloe, na sak ih hmuennawk boih ah palung boenghaih hoi azathaih to na tong tih.
54That thou mayest bear thy shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, comforting them.
55Angmacae ohhaih ahmuen ah, nam nawk nongpata Sodom hoi a canunawk, Samaria hoi a canunawk amlaem o let naah, nang doeh na canunawk hoi na ohhaih ahmuen ah nam laem let tih.
55And thy sister Sodom and her daughters shall return to their ancient state: and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their ancient state: and thou and thy daughters shall return to your ancient state.
56Jerusalem, nang loe amoek moe, nam nawk Sodom hnaphnaehaih lok to na thuih.
56And Sodom thy sister was not heard of in thy mouth, in the day of thy pride,
57Before thy malice was laid open: as it is at this time, making thee a reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all the daughters of Palestine round about thee, that encompass thee on all sides.
58Vaihi na zaehaih hoi na sak ih panuet thok hmuennawk pongah, tha na zok tih boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
58Thou hast borne thy wickedness, and thy disgrace, saith the Lord God.
59Angraeng Sithaw mah, Lokkamhaih to nang phat taak pongah, na sak ih hmuen hoi kating ah kang pathok han.
59For thus saith the Lord God: I will deal with thee, as thou hast despised the oath, in breaking the covenant:
60Toe na nawkta nathuem ah nang hoi sak ih lokmaihaih to ka poek moe, nang khaeah dungzan lokmaihaih ka sak han.
60And I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth: and I will establish with thee an everlasting covenant.
61To naah na caehhaih loklam to na panoek tih, nam nawk hoi nam ya nongpata kacoeh to na hnuk naah, azathaih na tong tih; na sak ih lokmaihaih thungah athum ai, toe nihnik to na canu ah kang paek han.
61And thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed: when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thy elder and thy younger: and I will give them to thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
62Nang hoi lokmaihaih ka sak han, to naah Kai loe Angraeng ni, tiah na panoek tih.
62And I will establish my covenant with thee: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord,
63Na sak ih hmuennawk boih pongah palung ka phuihaih dip naah loe, kho na poek vawk ueloe, mikhmai na sae tih, azat loiah pakha na ang let mak ai boeh, tiah Angraeng Sithaw mah thuih.
63That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and mayest no more open thy mouth because of thy confusion, when I shall be pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.
