1Israel siangpahrang qahhaih laa to sah paeh,
1Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2nam no loe mi aa? Kaipui amno to ni! Anih loe kaipui ampanawk salakah tabok, saning kanawk kaipuinawk salakah a caanawk to pacah.
2And say: Why did thy mother the lioness lie down among the lions, and bring up her whelps in the midst of young lions?
3A caanawk thung ih maeto loe qoeng tahang moe, thacak kaipui ah angcoeng, moi kaek amtuk moe, kaminawk doeh a kaek.
3And she brought out one of her whelps, and he became a lion: and he learned to catch the prey, and to devour men.
4Prae boih mah anih kawng to thaih o moe, long khaw thungah anih to naeh o; qui hoi taoengh o moe, Izip prae ah a caeh o haih.
4And the nations heard of him, and took him, but not without receiving wounds: and they brought him in chains into the land of Egypt.
5A caa duekhaih to amno mah hnuk moe, palung boeng naah, kalah a caa maeto tapen let moe, thacak kaipui ah angcoengsak.
5But she seeing herself weakened, and that her hope was lost, took one of her young lions, and set him up for a lion.
6Anih loe kaipuinawk salakah oh moe, thacak kaipui ah angcoeng, moi kaek amtuk moe, kaminawk doeh a kaek.
6And he went up and down among the lions, and became a lion: and he learned to catch the prey, and to devour men.
7Anih loe moizoep kaminawk abuephaih im to panoek, nihcae ih vangpuinawk to a phraek pae; a hanghaih lok pongah prae hoi a thungah kaom kaminawk boih anghngai o duem.
7He learned to make widows, and to lay waste their cities: and the land became desolate, and the fulness thereof by the noise of his roaring.
8To naah a taengah kaom avang kaminawk hoi prae boih ih kaminawk mah anih to kah o moe, anih han palok payang pae o; to tiah anih to long khaw thungah naeh o.
8And the nations Game together against him on every side out of the provinces, and they spread their net over him, in their wounds he was taken.
9Anih to hlongthuk o moe, moi paunghaih im thungah khrum o pacoengah, Babylon siangpahrang khaeah caeh o haih; anih hanghaih lok to Israel maenawk nuiah thaih let han ai ah, anih to thongim thungah pakhrak o.
9And they put him into a cage, they brought him in chains to the king of Babylon: and they cast him into prison, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
10Nam no loe nangmah ih athii angan ah oh moe, kapop tui taengah thling ih misurkung baktiah oh; kapop tui pongah anih loe tanghang to pop moe, athaih doeh pop.
10Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood planted by the water: her fruit and her branches have grown out of many waters.
11Anih ih tanghangnawk loe ukkung ih cunghet sakhaih thacak tanghang ah oh moe, qoeng o tahang pacoengah, kabuk tanghangnawk salakah kasang koek ah amtueng.
11And she hath strong rods to make sceptres for them that bear rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches: and she saw her height in the multitude of her branches.
12Toe anih mah palungphuihaih hoiah aphong duk moe, long ah a vah, ni angyae bang ih takhi mah athaih to zaeksak; thacak tanghangnawk loe angkhaeh o moe, zaek o boeh pongah, hmai mah kangh boih.
12But she was plucked up in wrath, and cast on the ground, and the burning wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods are withered, and dried up: the fire hath devoured her.
13Anih loe vaihi tui kaom ai, long karoem, praezaek ah ni thling boeh.
13And now she is transplanted into the desert, in a land not passable, and dry.
14Tanghang maeto thung hoiah hmai to tacawt moe, athaih to kangh boeh, ukkung ih cunghet sak han kahoih thacak tanghangnawk to om ai boeh. Hae loe qahhaih laa ah oh, qahhaih akung pui ah doeh om tih, tiah ang naa.
14And a fire is gone out from a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit: so that she now hath no strong rod, to be a sceptre of rulers. This is a lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.
