Proverbs 28

Berean Standard Bible
Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
1The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
1Kahoih ai kami loe mi mah doeh patom ai to mah a cawnh; toe katoeng kaminawk loe kaipui baktiah misahoih o.
2A land in rebellion has many rulers, but a man of understanding and knowledge maintains order.
2Prae thungah zaehaih pung pongah, ukkung doeh pop; toe khopoek thaih kami hoi palungha kami hoiah ni prae to cak.
3A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.
3Kamtang pacaekthlaek kami loe thingthai athaisak ai khotui baktiah oh.
4Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.
4Patukhaih lok pahnawt kami loe kahoih ai kami to thapaek, toe patukhaih lok baktiah khosah kami loe nihcae ih lok to aek.
5Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD comprehend fully.
5Kasae kami loe toenghaih to panoek ai; toe Angraeng pakrong kami loe hmuen to panoek boih.
6Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse.
6Kahoih ai hmuen sah angraeng pongah loe toenghaih hoi khosah mithoe to hoih kue.
7A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.
7Patukhaih lok pazui kami loe palungha kami ah oh; toe angzoeh koeh kami hoi ampui sah kami loe ampa to mikhmai setsak.
8He who increases his wealth by interest and usury lays it up for one who is kind to the poor.
8Katoeng ai loklam hoiah hak ih phoisa hoi hmuenmae patung mangh kami loe, kamtang tahmen thaih kami hanah ni patung pae.
9Whoever turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable.
9Patukhaih lok pazui ai kami loe, anih ih lawkthuihaih doeh panuet thoh.
10He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good.
10Katoeng kami loklam amkhraengsak kami loe, angmah ih tangqom thungah krah tih; toe katoeng kami loe kahoih hmuen to toep tih.
11A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man with discernment sees through him.
11Long angraeng loe angmah hoi angmah to palungha kami ah poek; toe poek thaihaih katawn mithoe loe anih pongah panoek kue.
12When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
12Katoeng kami palung anghoe naah, kating ai lensawkhaih to oh; kasae kami thacak naah loe kaminawk anghawk o king.
13He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.
13Angmah ih zaehaih angphat kami loe khosak hoih mak ai; toe a zaehaih taphong moe, caehtaak kami loe, Sithaw palungnathaih to hnu tih.
14Blessed is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
14Angraeng zithaih tawn poe kami loe tahamhoih; toe palungthah kami loe raihaih thungah amtim tih.
15Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
15Ukkung kahoih ai loe hmawhsaeng kaipui, to tih ai boeh loe taqom baktiah oh.
16A leader who lacks judgment is also a great oppressor, but he who hates dishonest profit will prolong his days.
16Panoekthaihaih tawn ai ukkung loe pacaekthlaek kami ah oh; toe uthaih hnuma kami loe hinglung sawk tih.
17A man burdened by bloodguilt will flee into the Pit; let no one support him.
17Athii palong kami loe tangqom thungah caeh tih; anih to mi mah doeh angdoe haih hmah nasoe.
18He who walks with integrity will be kept safe, but whoever is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.
18Katoeng loklam ah caeh kami loe ngancuem tih; toe lam amkhraeng kami loe amtim roep tih.
19The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
19Lawk toksah kami loe caaknaek tawn mang tih; toe tidoeh avang ai kami hnukbang kami loe amtang tih.
20A faithful man will abound with blessings, but one eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
20Oepthok kami loe tahamhoihaih hnu tih; toe karangah angraeng koeh kami loe toenghaih hoiah toksah mak ai.
21To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
21Minawk mikhmai khet han hoih ai; kami loe takaw kae maeto hak hanah kasae hmuen to sak thaih.
22A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty awaits him.
22Karangah angraeng koeh kami loe kahoih ai mik to tawnh; anih mah a nuiah amtanghaih pha tih, tito panoek ai.
23He who rebukes a man will later find more favor than one who flatters with his tongue.
23Pakha hoi pakoeh kami pongah loe, minawk thuitaek kami to hnukkhuem ah pakoehhaih hak tih.
24He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.
24Ampa hoi amno ih hmuenmae to lomh ah, zaehaih ah om ai, tiah thui kami loe, amrosak kami ih ampui ah ni oh.
25A greedy man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
25Amoekhaih palungthin tawn kami mah angzoehhaih to ohsak; toe Angraeng oep kami loe zok amhah tih.
26He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.
26A poekhaih angoep kami loe kamthu ni; toe palunghahaih hoiah caeh kami loe loihaih to hnu tih.
27Whoever gives to the poor will not be in need, but he who hides his eyes will receive many curses.
27Kamtang abomh kami loe amtang mak ai; toe kamtang to hnu ai kami baktiah angsah kami loe, kasaethuihaih to hnu tih.
28When the wicked come to power, people hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous flourish.
28Katoeng ai kami angraeng naah minawk mah anghawk taak; toe nihcae duek naah, katoeng kaminawk to qoeng o tahang tih.
