1In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
1以色列 人出 埃及 地以後，滿了三個月的那一天，就來到 西奈 的曠野。
2When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.
2他們離了 利非訂 ，來到 西奈 的曠野，就在那裏的山下安營。
3Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
3摩西 到上帝那裏，耶和華從山上呼喚他說：「你要這樣告訴 雅各 家，曉諭 以色列 人說：
4‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
4『我向 埃及 人所行的事，你們都看見了，且看見我如鷹將你們背在翅膀上，帶來歸我。
5Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
5如今你們若實在聽從我的話，遵守我的約，就要在萬民中作屬我的子民，因為全地都是我的。
6and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
6你們要歸我作祭司的國度，為聖潔的國民。』這些話你要告訴 以色列 人。」
7Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the LORD commanded him.
7摩西 去召了民間的長老來，將耶和華所吩咐他的話都在他們面前陳明。
8All the people answered together, and said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do.” Moses reported the words of the people to the LORD.
8百姓都同聲回答說：「凡耶和華所說的，我們都要遵行。」 摩西 就將百姓的話回覆耶和華。
9The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.
9耶和華對 摩西 說：「我要在密雲中臨到你那裏，叫百姓在我與你說話的時候可以聽見，也可以永遠信你了。」 於是， 摩西 將百姓的話奏告耶和華。
10The LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
10耶和華又對 摩西 說：「你往百姓那裏去，叫他們今天明天自潔，又叫他們洗衣服。
11and be ready for the third day; for on the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.
11到第三天要預備好了，因為第三天耶和華要在眾百姓眼前降臨在 西奈山 上。
12You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
12你要在山的四圍給百姓定界限，說：『你們當謹慎，不可上山去，也不可摸山的邊界；凡摸這山的，必要治死他。
13No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”
13不可用手摸他，必用石頭打死，或用 箭 射透；無論是人是牲畜，都不得活。到角聲拖長的時候，他們才可到山根來。』」
14Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
14摩西 下山往百姓那裏去，叫他們自潔，他們就洗衣服。
15He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”
15他對百姓說：「到第三天要預備好了。不可親近女人。」
16On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
16到了第三天早晨，在山上有雷轟、閃電，和密雲，並且角聲甚大，營中的百姓盡都發顫。
17Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
17摩西 率領百姓出營迎接上帝，都站在山下。
18All of Mount Sinai smoked, because the LORD descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
18西奈 全山冒煙，因為耶和華在火中降於山上。山的煙氣上騰，如燒窯一般，遍山大大地震動。
19When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
19角聲漸漸地高而又高， 摩西 就說話，上帝有聲音答應他。
20The LORD came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. The LORD called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
20耶和華降臨在 西奈山 頂上，耶和華召 摩西 上山頂， 摩西 就上去。
21The LORD said to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
21耶和華對 摩西 說：「你下去囑咐百姓，不可闖過來到我面前觀看，恐怕他們有多人死亡；
22Let the priests also, who come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break out on them.”
22又叫親近我的祭司自潔，恐怕我忽然出來 擊殺 他們。」
23Moses said to the LORD, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai, for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”
23摩西 對耶和華說：「百姓不能上 西奈山 ，因為你已經囑咐我們說：『要在山的四圍定界限，叫山成聖。』」
24The LORD said to him, “Go down! You shall bring Aaron up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to the LORD, lest he break out against them.”
24耶和華對他說：「下去吧，你要和 亞倫 一同上來；只是祭司和百姓不可闖過來上到我面前，恐怕我忽然出來 擊殺 他們。」
25So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
25於是 摩西 下到百姓那裏告訴他們。
