1Jehoash began to reign in the seventh year of Jehu, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
1耶户 第七年， 约阿施 登基，在 耶路撒冷 作王四十年。他母亲名叫 西比亚 ，是 别是巴 人。
2Jehoash did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
2约阿施 在祭司 耶何耶大 教训他的时候，就行耶和华眼中看为正的事；
3However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.
3只是邱坛还没有废去，百姓仍在那里献祭烧香。
4Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the holy things that is brought into the LORD’s house, in current money, the money of the people for whom each man is evaluated, and all the money that it comes into any man’s heart to bring into the LORD’s house,
4约阿施 对众祭司说：「凡奉到耶和华殿分别为圣之物所值通用的银子，或各人当纳的身价，或乐意奉到耶和华殿的银子，
5let the priests take it to them, each man from his donor; and they shall repair the damage to the house, wherever any damage is found.”
5你们当从所认识的人收了来，修理殿的一切破坏之处。」
6But it was so, that in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had not repaired the damage to the house.
6无奈到了 约阿施 王二十三年，祭司仍未修理殿的破坏之处。
7Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why aren’t you repairing the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”
7所以 约阿施 王召了大祭司 耶何耶大 和众祭司来，对他们说：「你们怎么不修理殿的破坏之处呢？从今以后，你们不要从所认识的人再收银子，要将所收的交出来，修理殿的破坏之处。」
8The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, and not repair the damage to the house.
8众祭司答应不再收百姓的银子，也不修理殿的破坏之处。
9But Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the LORD’s house; and the priests who kept the threshold put all the money that was brought into the LORD’s house into it.
9祭司 耶何耶大 取了一个柜子，在柜盖上钻了一个窟窿，放于坛旁，在进耶和华殿的右边；守门的祭司将奉到耶和华殿的一切银子投在柜里。
10When they saw that there was much money in the chest, the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put it in bags and counted the money that was found in the LORD’s house.
10他们见柜里的银子多了，便叫王的书记和大祭司上来，将耶和华殿里的银子数算包起来。
11They gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of the LORD’s house; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the LORD’s house,
11把所平的银子交给督工的，就是耶和华殿里办事的人；他们把银子转交修理耶和华殿的木匠和工人，
12and to the masons and the stone cutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the damage to the LORD’s house, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
12并瓦匠、石匠，又买木料和凿成的石头，修理耶和华殿的破坏之处，以及修理殿的各样使用。
13But there were not made for the LORD’s house cups of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the LORD’s house;
13但那奉到耶和华殿的银子，没有用以做耶和华殿里的银杯、蜡剪、碗、号，和别样的金银器皿，
14for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired the LORD’s house with it.
14乃将那银子交给督工的人修理耶和华的殿；
15Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.
15且将银子交给办事的人转交做工的人，不与他们算账，因为他们办事诚实。
16The money for the trespass offerings and the money for the sin offerings was not brought into the LORD’s house. It was the priests’.
16惟有赎愆祭、赎罪祭的银子没有奉到耶和华的殿，都归祭司。
17Then Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
17那时， 亚兰 王 哈薛 上来攻打 迦 特 ，攻取了，就定意上来攻打 耶路撒冷 。
18Jehoash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the LORD’s house, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria; and he went away from Jerusalem.
18犹大 王 约阿施 将他列祖 犹大 王 约沙法 、 约兰 、 亚哈谢 所分别为圣的物和自己所分别为圣的物，并耶和华殿与王宫府库里所有的金子都送给 亚兰 王 哈薛 ； 哈薛 就不上 耶路撒冷 来了。
19Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
19约阿施 其余的事，凡他所行的都写在 犹大 列王记上。
20His servants arose and made a conspiracy, and struck Joash at the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla.
20约阿施 的臣仆起来背叛，在下 悉拉 的 米罗 宫那里将他杀了。
21For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
21杀他的那臣仆就是 示米押 的儿子 约撒甲 和 朔默 的儿子 约萨拔 。众人将他葬在 大卫城 他列祖的坟地里。他儿子 亚玛谢 接续他作王。
