1Lakini wewe unapaswa kuhubiri mafundisho safi.
1But as for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound doctrine.
2Waambie wazee kwamba wanapaswa kuwa na kiasi, wawe na busara na wataratibu; wanapaswa kuwa timamu katika imani yao, upendo na uvumilivu.
2Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.
3Hali kadhalika waambie wanawake wazee wawe na mwenendo wa uchaji wa Mungu; wasiwe wachongezi, au watumwa wa pombe. Wanapaswa kufundisha mambo mema,
3Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.
4ili wawazoeze kina mama vijana kuwapenda waume zao na watoto,
4In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,
5wawe na kiasi na safi, waangalie vizuri mambo ya nyumbani, na wawatii waume zao, ili ujumbe wa Mungu usije ukadharauliwa.
5to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.
6Kadhalika, wahimize vijana wawe na kiasi.
6In the same way, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
7Katika mambo yote wewe mwenyewe unapaswa kuwa mfano wa matendo mema. Uwe mnyofu na uwe na uzito katika mafundisho yako.
7In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,
8Maneno yako yasiwe na hitilafu yoyote ili adui zako waaibike wasipopata chochote kibaya cha kusema juu yetu.
8and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed to have nothing bad to say about us.
9Watumwa wanapaswa kuwatii wakuu wao na kuwapendeza katika mambo yote. Wasibishane nao,
9Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
10au kuiba vitu vyao. Badala yake wanapaswa kuonyesha kwamba wao ni wema na waaminifu daima, ili, kwa matendo yao yote, wayapatie sifa njema mafundisho juu ya Mungu, Mwokozi wetu.
10not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.
11Maana neema ya Mungu imedhihirishwa kwa ajili ya wokovu wa watu wote.
11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.
12Neema hiyo yatufunza kuachana na uovu wote na tamaa za kidunia; tuwe na kiasi, tuishi maisha adili na ya kumcha Mungu katika ulimwengu huu wa sasa,
12It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
13tukiwa tunangojea siku ile ya heri tunayoitumainia, wakati utakapotokea utukufu wa Mungu Mkuu na Mwokozi wetu Yesu Kristo.
13as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
14Yeye alijitoa mwenyewe kwa ajili yetu ili atukomboe kutoka katika uovu wote na kutufanya watu safi walio wake yeye mwenyewe, watu walio na hamu ya kutenda mema.
14He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
15Basi, fundisha mambo hayo na tumia mamlaka yako yote ukiwahimiza na kuwaonya wasikilizaji wako. Mtu yeyote na asikudharau.
15Speak these things as you encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
