1Endeleeni kupendana kidugu.
1Let the charity of the brotherhood abide in you.
2Msisahau kuwakaribisha wageni; maana kwa kufanya hivyo watu wengine walipata kuwakaribisha malaika bila kujua.
2And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels.
3Wakumbukeni wale waliofungwa kana kwamba mmefungwa pamoja nao. Wakumbukeni wale wanaoteseka kana kwamba nanyi mnateseka kama wao.
3Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body.
4Ndoa inapaswa kuheshimiwa na watu wote, na haki zake zitekelezwe kwa uaminifu. Mungu atawahukumu waasherati na wazinzi.
4Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
5Msiwe watu wa kupenda fedha; toshekeni na vile vitu mlivyo navyo. Mungu mwenyewe amesema: “Sitakuacha kamwe, wala sitakutupa.”
5Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have; for he hath said: I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.
6Ndiyo maana tunathubutu kusema: “Bwana ndiye msaada wangu, sitaogopa. Binadamu atanifanya nini?”
6So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me.
7wakumbukeni viongozi wenu waliowatangazieni ujumbe wa Mungu. Fikirieni juu ya mwenendo wao, mkaige imani yao.
7Remember your prelates who have spoken the word of God to you; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation,
8Yesu Kristo ni yuleyule, jana, leo na milele.
8Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today; and the same for ever.
9Msipeperushwe huku na huku kwa mafundisho tofauti ya kigeni. Neema ya Mungu ndiyo inayoimarisha roho zetu na wala si masharti juu ya chakula; masharti hayo hayakumsaidia kamwe mtu yeyote aliyeyafuata.
9Be not led away with various and strange doctrines. For it is best that the heart be established with grace, not with meats; which have not profited those that walk in them.
10Sisi tunayo madhabahu ambayo wale wanaotumikia bado katika hema la Wayahudi, hawana haki ya kula vitu vyake.
10We have an altar, whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle.
11Kuhani Mkuu wa Kiyahudi huleta damu ya wanyama katika Mahali Patakatifu na kuitoa dhabihu kwa ajili ya dhambi; lakini nyama za hao wanyama huteketezwa nje ya kambi.
11For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the holies by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12Ndiyo maana Yesu pia, kusudi apate kuwatakasa watu kwa damu yake mwenyewe, aliteswa na kufa nje ya mji.
12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13Basi, tumwendee huko nje ya kambi tukajitwike laana yake.
13Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14Maana hapa duniani hatuna mji wa kudumu; lakini tunautafuta ule unaokuja.
14For we have not here a lasting city, but we seek one that is to come.
15Basi, kwa njia ya Yesu, tumtolee Mungu dhabihu ya sifa daima, yaani sifa zinazotolewa na midomo inayoliungama jina lake.
15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise always to God, that is to say, the fruit of lips confessing to his name.
16Msisahau kutenda mema na kusaidiana, maana hizi ndizo dhabihu zinazompendeza Mungu.
16And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God’s favour is obtained.
17Watiini viongozi wenu na kushika amri zao; wao huchunga roho zenu usiku na mchana, na watatoa ripoti ya utumishi wao mbele ya Mungu. Kama mkiwatii watafanya kazi zao kwa furaha, la sivyo, watazifanya kwa huzuni, na hiyo haitakuwa na faida kwenu.
17Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account of your souls; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you.
18Tuombeeni na sisi. Tuna hakika kwamba tunayo dhamiri safi, maana twataka kufanya lililo sawa daima.
18Pray for us. For we trust we have a good conscience, being willing to behave ourselves well in all things.
19Nawasihi sana mniombee ili Mungu anirudishe kwenu upesi iwezekanavyo.
19And I beseech you the more to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20Mungu amemfufua Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo ambaye ni Mchungaji Mkuu wa kondoo kwa sababu ya kumwaga damu yake iliyothibitisha agano la milele.
20And may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the blood of the everlasting testament,
21Mungu wa amani awakamilishe katika kila tendo jema ili mtekeleze mapenzi yake; yeye na afanye ndani yetu kwa njia ya Kristo yale yanayompendeza mwenyewe. Utukufu uwe kwake, milele na milele! Amina.
21Fit you in all goodness, that you may do his will; doing in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22Basi, ndugu, nawasihi mpokee kwa utulivu ujumbe huu wa kuwatieni moyo. Hii ni barua fupi tu ambayo nimewaandikieni.
22And I beseech you, brethren, that you suffer this word of consolation. For I have written to you in a few words.
23Napenda kuwajulisheni kwamba ndugu yetu Timotheo amekwisha funguliwa gerezani. Kama akifika hapa mapema, nitakuja naye nitakapokuja kwenu.
23Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty: with whom (if he come shortly) I will see you.
24Wasalimieni viongozi wenu wote pamoja na watu wa Mungu! Ndugu wa Italia wanawasalimuni.
24Salute all your prelates, and all the saints. The brethren from Italy salute you.
25Tunawatakieni nyote neema ya Mungu.
